So I was just posting in another thread about how unprofessional our DJ is, and I decided to make it official here in a brand spankin' new thread. Our old DJ (amazingly respectful, wonderful, professional, etc) had to leave for personal reasons and we got a new DJ in our club who is BEYOND AWFUL. Here are my issues. Have you ever seen this crap before? Or... any other crap you'd like to add?? [1] He talks... A LOT. He talks when girls are on stage, at the beginning and end of every song, and even during songs. Our old DJ used to make one or two comments maybe, but this guy really likes the sound of his own voice. [2] He's cheesy. And I'm not talking about one or two cheesy comments. He says the most ridiculous things I've ever heard and then repeats them several times (see #1). Especially if the audience doesn't get it/doesn't respond, then he repeats them many, many times... it's not that they didn't get it, it's just that they didn't think it was funny. [3] He's grossly inappropriate. When a girl he likes is on stage he growls/moans into the microphone several times during her performance and says things like "I'm wet" or "Yuuuuuuum. I'd like to taste a little bit of that". I've seen DJs say things that are a little sexual but funny, but this guy just really sounds like a creep. Okay. Those are mostly it. It's mostly the talking thing... I've lost private dances because of him because when guys hear him talking for 30 seconds instead of playing the last 30 seconds of a song, it kind of kills the mood. I mean, really... what straight guy feels sexy hearing a dude's voice in the background? I mean... do whatever you want, but don't screw up my money... |

I used to work at a club where both customers and dancers refer to him as an asshole. He has an attitude, steals money and thinks he can be disrespectful to dancers any time he wants. All this because he and the night manager are best friends. They sure as hell deserve each other. The manager likes to see two girls on stage (most girls hate sharing the stage) but the asshole will only allow his personal favorites to have a solo performance. Everyone complains that he talks way too much and plays shitty music. This guy is such an asshole that even tipping him $20 doesn't improve his behavior. I stopped tipping him completely because of his attitude. Every club knows that when a girl is in VIP, she is not supposed to be called on stage. That asshole called me on stage anyway one night. I told him I was with my customer in VIP and he made me go up anyway. My customer was nice enough to wait while I did the two stupid songs. When I returned to my customer, the asshole tried to make me return to the fucking stage! I told him that I had done the two songs, he got his panties in a bunch and yelled "You stay up there until I tell you to come down! Just forget it! Pay your $20 offstage fee and stay off for the rest of the night!" I refused to pay the $20 fee and I wasn't given shit about it. I found out later that night he had his panties in a bunch because he was upset about one of the dancers he was dating at work. Someone overheard him yelling at her earlier about getting drunk every night and embarrassing him. Its his own fault for making the decision to eat where he shits. On another occasion, he had called a girl to go on stage but she was in the dressing room. She rushed to get out as fast as she could and he played only one song for her instead of two. She was expected to go on the fantasy stage after the main stage but when she politely let him know that he had played only one song for her, he began yelling and swearing at her and falsely accused her of being disrespectful. She yelled and swore right back at him. Well, his best friend (the manager) was sitting in the booth the entire time yet, he told the girl to go home!!! There was no need to send her home when she hadn't done anything wrong. Since then, she refused to work on the nights that manager came in. She also got hired somewhere else.

Ugh. At the club where I am currently working there is a "stable" so to speak of DJs. I adore two of them but there is one new DJ who is clearly a dumbass. He breaks what is in my opinon one of the golden rules of strip club DJing. When it is slow he will get out of the booth, stand right in front of it, arms crossed across his chest, and just STARE at the girls. I have spoken to the other DJs about it and they assure me that they are showing him the ropes but they better hurry the fuck up becore I make it crystal clear to this d-bag.

The place I was just at has a dj that spends his time glaring at the girls ( like hateful glaring stares ..... don't think I EVER saw a smile ) . He just seemed miserable. I'm not sure why he didn't find other work - he wasn't a good fit. He would say the SAME stuff ( like exactly that same hundreds of times .... maybe it wasn't even him ...maybe he made the computer do his work I don't know ) . I miss my old fun dj and will pop back into my old place in a couple weeks and tip the shit of out him. |

This isn't nearly as bad as the other stuff on here but used to have a DJ that would play the same unsexy 80s songs about 8 times a night EVERY night he came in. This included White Lines and other Grandmaster Flash songs and The Safety Dance, thought it was hilarious the first few nights I worked when he was on but after a couple of months I wanted to scream at him to get some new music!

Lol. We get a TON of unsexy songs, too. Tonight he played me a medley from the movie Grease. I was dying. I was on stage doing the "greased lightening" dance. Everyone was cracking up and our poor manager looked mortified. What the hell else was I going to do? I was just trying my best to keep the custies giggling...
