Default First time stripping Reply With Quote

Hey,

Today is my first day stripping. (Working the day shift.) I've been wanting to do this for a long time and I finally got up the courage to give it a go. I think I have everything I need -- stripper shoes, cute outfit, etc. I'm really nervous though! Hopefully I won't fall on my face. (I don't think I will.)

Wish me luck!

Thanks! I figured Sunday would be a good day to start. When I was hired last week, the club manager wanted me to start right away -- late on a Wednesday night. I think that would have been too much for a noob!

So I did it! And then I got fired. I made it all the way through a 5-hour shift, made about $95 (most of it from a guy who bought consecutive lap dances), and when I was done I was fired. They thought I was too fat because I have a bit of a belly and they wanted girls who are basically stick insects. They said I could work for them again if I lost about 30 pounds. :-( I don't think I"m fat -- just curvy. I have a woman's body and I'm not the skinny little thing I was when I was 19.

I'm really feeling discouraged now. And crushed. This sucks.

WHAT. Fuck them They should have told you they weren't interested at the audition, not after your first night. Don't give up though-not all clubs are like that. Most clubs understand that there are a wide variety of men that like a wide variety of women.

Yeah, I thought it was odd. Apparently they wanted to pull me off mid-shift because of my looks but they didn't because supposedly they didn't want to hurt my feelings. WTF?

I was so scared while on main stage for the first time. Couldn't look anyone in the eye just the forehead and smiled.

WTF?! Managers saying 5-10 lbs is pretty normal... 30 lbs though?! That's silly! What city was this?

Portland.

This thing is, I don't know if losing a bunch of weight would help. I've always had a bit of a gut, even when I was borderline-anorexic in college. It's just the way I'm built.

Nah. Your not to fat or they wouldn't have wanted you to start right away. You threatened someone who has the manager in their pocket, and they got them to fire you.
I mean, if you really want an opinion you could always pose a few pics for us

I had the same thing happen to me. They basically hired me, let me get through half the first night, then said "learn to dance and lose some weight." It stung like hell. But I lost the weight, learned to dance, and re-auditioned, and got the job. I ended up quitting, because they had some seriously fucked up payment rules (I made $40 one ngiht, and after I paid all their "fees" I went home with $2). But now I feel more confident in myself.

However, 30lbs is ridiculous. I lost like 10.

It's a shitty position to be in. I would say "fuck em". They seem like asshats. Move on to a better club. Plenty exist.

Thanks. It makes me feel a bit better to know that someone else experienced the same thing.

I have a feeling it was the bartender who hated me. Both she and the manager said I was too big, but I just got this vibe from her that she didn't like me. I don't know. The one guy I gave the lap dances to said he loved the way I looked, curves and all. I'm trying to remember that and not how those assholes made me feel.

Here are a couple of pics. I don't think I look that bad. Busty, yes. But not bad.

U have great boobs.. u have extras around your belly but it look ok...if u lose u look better.... Anyway if guys like it shoudnt be problem. Not everybody likes skinny chics... As soon as u make money and ability to pay house fee+tip it is ok... i dont get it why they fired u??? I saw some big ladies work at strip club not as much as normal and skinny ones but still they do work.

Your not too thick, but you might want to tone it. Your boobs make up for the thickness though. Try another club, don't worry. You will find a place that caters to men who like curves and you will bank.

A corset! I think you would bank with an underbust corset.

sigh. well i hate to say it, but at most decent clubs that i have worked at you wouldnt be hired unless you had a gorgeous face and moved really well (as a noob the latter is unlikely, and often even a perfect 10 face and perfect 10 moves are not enough to compensate). the only time i have seen someone with your figure get hired at a nice club was when two managers were in a power struggle, and both auditioned a girl and one manager said "well she cant work here" and the other in an act of defiance hired her on the spot.

sorry thats the reality of the business. BUT on the bright side, your weight doesnt have to stay like that. you can lose the fat but you have to put your mind to it. BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF! are you going to the gym or finding some way to do a decent work out at least 4x a week? and i mean a decent work out, not a 20 minute stroll or a slow jog, something that makes you break out in a sweat and gets your heart pumping. are you eating healthy? and if you are eating healthy foods, are you eating an appropriate amount of healthy foods? if you did not answer yes to all of these questions, then saying your body is just built like that is not being honest with yourself. you should be doing these things anyway, not just for aesthetic purposes but for your general health. saying girls who are thinner than you are "stick insects" and that you have "a woman's body" (what the hell does this phrase mean anyway?) is not being honest and i believe i am only telling you what you already know but dont want to admit to yourself. there are plenty of woman your age and older who are in good shape. Stripping is not like the real world where 'curves' are forgiven and the phrase "real women have curves" is a cheering on phrase. Stripping is a fantasy world, and the women in it are fantasy girls.

I would try to find a dive bar. they might hire you. and dancing will help you lose weight . but again, honesty, you are going to need to join a gym. hating on the "stick insects" is passive aggressive, a lot of the "stick insects" busted their ass for their body. real sweat and real hard work from real women to achieve a result that turned them into fantasy women.

This post isnt designed to hurt your feelings. i am hoping that what you will get out of it is that you need to be fair. someone on this board a while back said that in this business you need to be your biggest cheerleader and your harshes critic. i believe this is very true. Right now i am in a situation where i have also gained weight (although i am still quite a bit thinner than you) and for the first time in my life i got rejected from a club for my weight (before now i had only been turned down from a club with strict tattoo rules). i had to take a harsh look in the mirror, realize that over the winter and spring i had let myself go, had stopped my disciplined diet, had dropped my gym membership and i had to do something about it. sitting around whining about skinny girls wasnt going to make me skinny or change the nature of the business so i went back on my diet started hitting up the gym and now i am losing weight, gettng my muscles back, gettng my energy back and starting to look like my old self.

i had to stop making excuses. i think you do to.

thats just my two brutally honest cents.

^ Totally agree.

If your happy with yourself, then great. You seem like a good person, but understand this is a stripclub. The places I worked so far which were all different classes (high, middle and low) would not hire a similar shape. Sorry to say, even in the low class types (dive ins) I did not see a similar shape. We had thick girls, they took care of themselves, they worked hard, they took care of their image, even though they were thick, they looked good and toned with an hourglass look.

The high end club would not even hire some of the skinny girls cause they werent pretty enough, the biggest girl I've seen there was maybe only 5 lbs over and she didnt have any weight, she looked good. If they did not like your performance, bam you're fired. They dont have a problem doing that, but they are nice to say on ways you can get re-hired (get a better preformance, loose weight, change hair color etc). And you should not take it personally but as a business opinion. You can make yourself look better, you can still work there if you loose the weight. I do not think it was over the bartner's opinion on liking you or not, the managers want to keep their image the same. Even though strippers dont have resumes, each club has their own opinions and have certain looks for girls to have.

So please dont take this is as an insult, its not. Take it as advice on making a step towards the stripping career. With hard work, more doors will open.
