i'd go to the mansion in a fucking heartbeat.

but then again, i have a really shitty work ethic so there's probably a lot of things i'd do over going to work.

Work. Really. The pay sucks considering the BS you have to deal with while you are there. Think of the most pushy, rude, power trippin' guys on the planet, and you'll get kinda close to the kind of guys that will be at that party.

Work...

But other than that, the 98% of remaining Playboy playmates fade into obscurity within a matter of a few months and a few big paychecks. And girls who appear in Playboy as models not playmates don't even get the big paychecks.

As some other have already pointed out, there IS a pool of rich / popular / (semi) famous guys who are part of the mansion 'crowd'. If a girl is hot, and is also willing to 'go along with the program', many opportunities for ... well, let's call it 'mutual use' ... will undoubtedly present themselves as a result of being 'noticed' at the mansion.

There you have it, the voices of experience. I used to really admire Hef, but the more I learn, the less I do. Actually, I won't say how low my opinion has gotten, I know he has fans whom I respect here. But he is not the man he was when he started.

And they don't pay the women shit, because they are lining up for the 'privilege'. That's sad.

If you are making the kind of money you are, and your ex can get you in now, you are hot enough to get in later, when you can afford to lose the income for the bragging rights.

Everytime I read this thread it just reminds me how much I hate playboy lol.

Every party i've attended thats been playboy i've felt like a piece of meat... id actually rather go work in one of the high contact clubs then attend these parties... the women are talked down to, gropped and just left feeling icky.

I can't imagine how the mansion parties would be bleh.

^^^That doesn't sound like much fun.

Ehh, you can work and have a good time in Vegas if you want. If you really want to go to the mansion, then go. But if you are really that concerned about making money, then stick to the plan you already had.

This has changed my whole idea of Playboy and the mansion. I was telling my best friend about this tread and she said u should go now I think that would change our minds.

Honestly, its not that bad when Ive been there! Granted I wasnt working, I was there for Midsummers with a guy I was dating, and it was nice. But maybe Im being slightly naive, and the fact that I was there with him had something to do with it, as he used to write for the magazine, and is now a pretty sucessful screenwriter/director

I'd go to the mansion, just because I've never been to one before. At least you can judge for yourself whether it was worth it or not.

But if you desperately need x amount of cash right now, then it would probably be a better idea to go to work. Especially since it's your ex that invited you, I'm sure he'd be more than willing to hook you up with an invitation again, in the near future.

Gosh, I just re-read my post. I sound so indecisive. 8)

I had a chance to go to mid summers with a few of my gf's that live out in la and i wish i would have.. I think you should go to the mansion.... that is unless you really need to make money....

however, if that is not guaranteed, WORK. you will make more, lots more, than the 500.

I tend to agree with this sentiment. Kinda go all the way or just go to work kinda thingy kinda feeling

Trust me, the fact that you were with a 'date', and especially because you were there with a date who is a "somebody', spared you from a ton of weirdness. It's an entirely different story for girls going to the mansion alone to function as 'scenery'

There you go. And also keep in mind that the party in question isn't really a high profile Playboy function either. As stated, it is an auction of some sort where the organizers have been allowed to use the mansion.

I would go to the party, just to say that I have been there. If you don't like how the party is turning out, you can always leave. Thats just my 2 cents.

just make sure that this is the case ... i.e. do not depend on someone else to bring you or take you, because they may be sidetracked. And again, unless you're intending to 'no holds barred partay' I definitely recommend staying as far away from the Grotto as possible !!!!!!!!!

Nah. Hes a producer for Hustler... oh same thing.. LOL

If he's using the same MO as the Hustler Busty Beauties crew in North Hollywood, YUP !

No, I know him - personally. Hes not like that but I can see how people would think so. But I know I would be safe if I went. I would just rather make money. Im sure I can go again and Id rather go to a party as his date than go to this auction thing and be scenery.

Every party i've attended thats been playboy i've felt like a piece of meat...

bingo.

I went because our team would get invited (playboy does like their share of cheerleaders,) but we didn't get paid nor did it count toward our "appearances" (we technically weren't there with our team, if you get my drift.) I got treated a little better than most of my teammates, but I think it's 'cos I'm a bit of "prude" compared to most girls who go to those things.

anyway, just thought I'd check this thread out and see what happened with it.

Do you cheer professionally?
I just got finished reading an article in cosmo supposedly by an ex-NFL cheerleader.

Do you cheer professionally?
I just got finished reading an article in cosmo supposedly by an ex-NFL cheerleader.

yeah, it's my "sport." However, I'm thinking about taking a break for a hot minute.

what'd she say in the article?

it's like this: I love the fact that you become this public figure and everything you do and say will be watched, 'cos I have so many things I want to say and do that make people THINK. however, all that amazing power you get is closely guarded by your coach, who is always following orders by the owner. you're not really allowed to be yourself. there's a shit ton of politics. quite frankly, for a rambunctious and rebellious girl like myself, it's a pretty shit "profession." you practice like CRAZY, are constantly stressed, and somehow you have to balance that life with school/work, and whatever else hobbies you have. honestly for the amount of hard work we put into it, ownders should REALLY fucking pay us. not this cump change b.s. that we usually get.

oh and besides practices and games (which total about 30 hrs/wk) we have these assinine contracts which tell us how many appearances we HAVE to make (which are UNPAID and go on FOR HOURS,) what our bodies have to look like, what we say/do/etc etc etc

UGH I HATE IT!!!!!!

sorry, I could bitch FOREVER about it, but I won't.

I guess, the only reason I keep going back is 'cos I don't know what else to do. it's like, it's been my life FOR THE LONGEST TIME. I took break from it for a bit when I got sick of cheering in college and became a professional ballet dancer instead, but it's really difficult for me to maintain that body, so I let my boobs comeback and went back to cheering, but pro instead of collegiate this time.

^^ thats pretty much what she said. That she made about $3000 a yr as a pro NFL cheerleader in 2006(which ended up being a profit of $300 after expenses) and they basically forced her to be anorexic. And forced her to do things like spend her own money to dye her hair a color of their choice so she wouldnt look so "ethnic"(she is latin/white mixed.

She also said she wasnt allowed to say in public that she was a cheerleader. And that many of the girls were just there to try to gold dig and snag an NFL player.

Of course...you have to take these articles with a grain of salt..knowing how slanted any major amg article on stripping is..I never believe what I read.

OHHH, and I totally forgot to mention- any girls that are in the sc industry that go to these things ALWAYS land up leaving to go to work. no joke. I've yet to be kickin' it with a stripper there and hear 'em say, "well, I think I'm just gonna blow off work and stay here."

no. doesn't happen.

I don't wanna say...

I'll tell you this, though, if you're there for a player YOU'RE FUCKED. I mean there are two REALLY EASY WYS to get fired
1) fraternize with the players
2) gain weight

I mean you are gone ON THE SPOT. I've dated my fair share of pro athletes and all of them were during my cheerleading hiatus. Even in college we weren't aloowed to date 'em.

I know one girl on our team went all ana like efore our first practice even. it is REALLY an intense field and we get treated like such SHIT.

I mean, it is a good way to meet affluent men (I myself have been courted by many, but I just left a REALLY bad relationship about 7 mos. ago,) but you could do the sme thing by dressing to kill and going to the right club (which is how I met all the pro athletes.)

I know one girl on our nba team is actually the sister of an AFL player. Shit like that maeks sense, 'cos you know she'll ALWAYS be treated well for that. There are some cheerleaders who were married/dating players BEFORE they made the squad and that's totally cool, too. those girls will always be treated like queens, too.

the rest of us, however, really have to stand up for ourselves.

Def go to the mansion ......are you crazy ?? That is an experience ....although if you need the money for yourfamily then I guess the responsible thing would be to go to Vegas ......Oh but Playboy , its only OVERRATED if you are expecting something that does not happen . If you are expecting a party at the playboy mansion then you will be happy , right ? If you are expecting to get discovered to become a girlfriend than you will be disappointed ......just my 2 cents . Do it for those who are not fortunate enough to have the option

Dating a pro athlete= gross. Take control of your own destiny ladies!

I hope you don't think I purposely went out hunting for a pro-athlete. it just so happens that most of 'em are in my circle of friends. When the only other "colored people" in the city you live in and the college you go to are athletes, you make a LOT of pro athlete friends. It's a fun lifestyle and for those of us who are "brainiacs" doomed to a life of activism and boring litigation, we welcome the change of pace.

Please don't reflect on my life with disgust again. I'll leave it at that. Don't want to start any drama, but that comment just irked the shit out of me, and I REALLY don't appreciate it.

I think you should work. At first I was like "Go to the mansion!!!!" But now after reading many posts about it and just my personal feelings on Hugh Hefner and "the girls next door" stuff, I think you should work. I personally don't like how freakin cheap Playboy is! I think the Playmates get like only $25K and Playmate of the year gets $100K and a new car. Big whoop considering how much money Playboy makes off that one girl! And I personally think Hugh Hefner is a dirty old man! Yes, he can be since he's officially Playboy, I just don't like how much of a womanizer he is, how he cheats on all his girlfriends, wives, etc. I think Playboy is waaay overrated, listen to some of the girls on here who've already had experience with Playboy, they might know a thing or two. ;)

I got invited to "frolic and swim" <--- exact words! LOL at the Playboy mansion next month. I guess theres some big auction going on and they need 40 girls to go be the landscape. Pays not much - $500 AND its the same day I was supposed to fly to Vegas and try to get my referral so I can get all my license stuff on Friday.

Agh. I dont know what to DO! This could be a chance to meet some people ( a rich boyfriend perhaps?) ;D but I dont know - I may risk not getting all my license stuff together and not be able to dance all weekend...

Ugh... What would you do?

Wait, they were gonna PAY you to go? Ive been to the mansion several times, both to hefs parties and to charity events where the promoters swear up and down that they pay 500 bucks for each girl that attends and therefore are "paying for her invite" even though i know this is BS, but never once have i ever been offered payment to go!

Ummm...DFB....

I sort of am a little confused.... you say you "quit cheering and became a professional ballet dancer..." ???

Not to wave the bullshit flag on you, but being a dancer on that level is not something that you quit, stop, or just pick up.... and honestly....most people in the dance world wouldn't be a cheerleader, for the obvious reasons...

I just think that's a bizzare claim to make....because it's really not possible ??? Oh, I have my BFA in dance by the way and took summer class at PNB throughout college, so I pretty much know how these things work.

Not to be pissy, but to dance on that level is an incredible accomplishment, one that I am very proud of and...well....I take it sort of personally when people make weird claims like that.

Maybe you are telling the truth, but that story sounds sketchy.

I didnt go to either. I found out I was pregnant.... oops...

But if I wanted to go Im sure I could. This invite was from a producer for Hustler and CherryBoxxx so it was real. He and I dated a few years ago and hes very protective over me.. if it were for something I wasnt comfortable with he wouldnt have invited me. The payment is real. They hire a cerain amount of girls to "get the party going" He wouldnt lie about something like that.
