I *could* make that (pre-taxes) by working Thurs-Sat 8pm-close (typically 5am) EVERY WEEK... with 2 weeks off a year.

Hah... like THAT will ever happen....

Hey Cally, I am thinking of going outside of Toronto to work as well= but only for a few days, because I have my dayjob here. Would you know of any no extras, no licence nec. clubs near Toronto?:D :O

Katia the only clubs that are no contact/no license require you to book 6 days and the good ones are a few hours away from the city.

HELL NO I don't even make anywhere close to 100K! Maybe when Jess is done with school, we get out of LA and I start investing my money and the baby doesn't require so much constant attention...then yeah, I can see it being possible. But like someone else said you are lucky to get $20 - 30K here just dancing. This is extras city.

Do you have a list of the names of these bars? Do I need to contact an agency to book?/:O Also, funny thing, I have never done no contact dancing. Can you make as much as 2 way contact?

i've never made 100k in a year but...I can see how it is possible (pre tax that is) based on what I do makebut I just cannot mentally work the 5-6 days a week I think it would take me...

I do it, pre tax. For me it requires discipline, goal setting, determination and lots of sacrifice ( time and travel )!

I make 75K pre-tax working 3 days a week. If I worked 5 days, then yeah, I could make it. But I have family obligations during the week that I'd rather attend to. Maybe when the little man is in school next year I'll step it up a bit. However, my living expenses are very low, so my current income is more than enough for us.

Katia (sorry for the threadjack): I made lots of money in Thunderbay off non-contact $10 dances. Ask Cally about the details if you want to get booked there...my only warning: it's INTENSE labour...more than anything Ottawa-style.

In any case, I think you're right. The money in Ottawa/ Quebec is pretty good, insofar as it is remarkably consistent. There may not be many $1000+ nights (unless you work 8 hours or more), but there are very few less than $250-300 nights. I think a decent, patient hustler could certainly make 2k a week here, almost every week, if they worked 4-5 days a week. BUT who does that? Not many. And anyway, we're talking before taxes.

So while I could have, I haven't, because I just don't work that much. Maybe I should. I don't know. For a while dancing was giving me panic attacks, so I had to cool off...maybe I can only psychologically handle 3 days a week? It's a shame sometimes. I really respect the ladies who make it into work 5 days a week. Impressive self-motivation.
