I think of StripperWeb as being like a very exclusive, private surfing spot that ONLY the locals know about.

If one of the locals invites someone new in, it's because they think they'd be worthy; using the spot according to wave etiquette, respecting the longstanding surfers there. And if someone manages to find the surf spot on their own, they have to work to earn the respect of the locals.

Yes, the beaches might be public property, technically - anyone can use them - but people who sell out secret surf spots to disrespectful tourists who will ruin it for everyone are not thought of well (and may just get their asses beat by more aggro types).

I've noticed a lot of long-time users leaving lately or changing names. Is this the reason why, because too many trolls are making SW known to other trolls?

Maybe there should be a private section that you can only get to after a certain amount of posts or mod approval. I post on another board that has a section like that. It's completely invisible unless you are approved to go in.

I don't belong to any other communities, so no problem here. As a matter of fact, I don't even read the news or any other website. SW is ALL I NEED!! ;)

No, my money's on either a) life changes or b) catty bitches on the board.

Well, except for MySpace--that's mostly for keeping in touch with my IRL friends and family.

Maybe I'm not saying this right because I feel like I am repeating my self over and over and not being understood....

cameron, i know what youre saying.

she isnt talking about the people who find it by googling. if trolls find it through google, ok, they already had the idea in their heads to mess with a stripper site. if someone posts it on another message board, potential trolls who DIDN'T already want to mess with a bunch of strippers now know that it's out there. what are people not understanding about that??

Posting on this forum is a risk we take when we sign up, there are a ton of psycho's in this world and stalkers are really creepy, I had one that lived on the same floor of my apartment building and he was taken care of quickly by the apartment management. I always thought I would end up with some creep stalking me from work not because he saw me doing laundry!

When it comes to our personal and professional lives, we all know it is hard to mix
some of us hide the fact we are dancers others don't.

Myspace, and personal websites.. this is something I tend to be a bit leery of
though I can see how it is fantastic marketing and am debating doing the same
thing.

I have a question if you could go back and not market on myspace etc would you?

^^Again...I KNOW it is a risk we take, But theres a differance between a creepy guy randomly moving into your building and someone holding his hand and bringing him there telling him that a hot girl he could perv on lived there.

Am I really not making sense??? Thanks Britt...you seem to be the only one who gets what I'm saying.

I get what you're saying too and completely agree.

...However, I think this is one of those threads where people are going to read into it what they want to, rather than listen to what you actually mean...

You're making sense, there just isn't a simple solution to the issue. The reason
I gave you the example of what happened to me at my residence is because it was the last place I ever figured would draw negative or creepy attention.

Trolls are annoying but that is what an ignore function is for but.. has this affected
your day to day life?

Please do not get on the defensive I am just trying to keep myself safe as well.

It isnt just trolls I am talking about in general. They will always find us if they want to. I"m saying dont go on other unrelated sites and talk about SW to people who otherwise may not have even thought of coming here and bugging us. Be discrete about who you tell and we can cut down on the irritating troll invastions.

And yes, some peoples day to day lives HAVE been affected by trolls and stalkers here...he-who-shall-not-be-named being one HUGE example.

I'd just like to keep that to a minimum and I thought everyone would too. It was just brought to my mind because I have seen the site mentioned on other boards many times where it didnt have to be.

So there is a VERY simple solution to what I am saying. Dont tell everyone you meet or post on random sites and message boards about this site. Thats all.
