of course im not a club manager, im just sick to death hearing waa waa stories from dancers here saying ;omg, i broke the rules, and got fired! why?" and then every single dancer agrees with so called rule breaker with "omg, that sucks, poor you' waa waa fucking waaa
ffs, ya'll broke the fucking rules, why does everyone here jump on the bandwagon here with the dancers? THEY BROKE CLUB RULES!!!
she admitted she didnt accidently kicked his drink over, she done it on purpose, and then lied about it to her manager. she knew she was in the wrong, or she wouldnt have lied.
when did I ask why I got fired? I know why I was just pissed about how it was done, and about the fact the shooting up in the bathroom won't get you fired but this will.

Why would dancers stick up for other dancers? Gee, I don't know, perhaps it's because we've ALL been through similar situations with customers and most of us have dealt with unfair managers and horribly mismanaged clubs. Yeah, she lied to try to save her own ass, which is something a lot of people would do, especially in the strip club world.
She wasn't cryassing about it she was telling us what happened, which is what this forum is for. If you don't agree with someone that's fine and you can and should state your opinion. However, the way you are cursing and namecalling is completely uncalled for.
You might be fed up with real life co-workers or other situations (which is the only reason I can think of that this would get you so worked up), but you don't need to take it out on someone you don't even know. Again, this is the second time in just a few days that you've overreacted and attacked someone on here. You have the freedom to say whatever you want, no one is going to stop you, but don't be surprised when the day comes that you want some sympathy and no one is there to give it to you.

I think we all understand why she was fired, but everyone is appalled at the fact that she was called a cunt. I mean, that's an extremely degrading word to use on a woman. So the problem isn't that she was fired, even Taylorlila recognizes why she was fired, it was just the way it was handled.

Wow. This thread has some disturbing elements. Firstly, I'm so sorry Taylorlilla. It sucks being out of work regardless of anything, and I kno there's also not so many options for you being out in Maine and the underage laws and stuff. Can't blame a person for not getting the "accidental drink knock-over" right the first time!!
I love how Mermaidz came and and called you a cunt and us a clique, then a dude worships her from outerspace for it. That would make anyone want to bust out a feminism rant but I won't. I would like to say how disgusted I feel though. I've also noticed your what you think is your No Bullshit Approach to dishing out the "reality" to other dancers on here lately, but frankly you're just over the top about it. There are many people on here who do what you are trying to do, and make valid points because they don't go for shock value like you.
Taylorlilla is a young girl from like, out in the country of Maine, dark/snowy/icy, who has made many positive posts on here and generally seems awesome, but unfortunately kicked over a beer (improperly, lol) Mermaidz, you're ridiculous.

I never knew a stripper that was so By The Book, either. That seems to be your #1 arguement, YOU BROKE THE RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe you'd do best as a Hyatt Food and Beverage Manager.

I'm actually not really on board with "why she got fired." I don't think there was any need to fire her for this kind of cause without instituting any warning or disciplinary action first. I mean - they couldn't have gone with a "We understand you get frustrated, but you can't react this way; you'll have to replace his drink and offer to have his pants cleaned. Do not let this happen again." Like, you know, sane people who are managing employees instead of trying to keep peons in their place?

I'm sorry to hear about what happened to you, Taylor. I hope things work out.

wanna share which ones? cos this is the only thread ive been out of line in in years....
as for the use of the word cunt, i dont in any way see it as derogarity (i cant even spell that word!) i throw cunt around all the time in speech, yep, its a bad nasty habit, but i dont value it as as much of an insult as so many rightous SWers.im sorry if you seen it as i was outright calling you a cunt- i was trying to say,id call anyone a cunt who lied to my face.
i type how i speak, another bad habit, i swear like a trouper. im shit at editing my speech and posts for other people. sorry. im not going for 'shock value' im just saying what im getting sick of hearing on these boards lately, ive been quiet about it for too long. and yep, i know im facing a one man battle...its me against the rest of you, and i should probably just leave if i hate it so much... but i wont.i dont give up that easily

There's no reason to view the board as "me against the rest of you" all the time. If there's ppl I feel that are in a clique, I personally just don't give a fuck. But saying stuff like that sounds snottier than ppl who are getting clique-y. I'm one woman and a keyboard and that's all any of us are, and ppl can talk to us or not, but you act like Taylor's situation is soooooo far out of yr realm of possibility, and that's why we're all confused.
And cunt is a nasty word, and yes I do swear like a truck driver and don't really place heavy emphasis on the meaning behind words, but it's really nasty of you to call her that and yes you did balls out call her that.
It was a ......different kind of lie.....and we can all see where it came from. You act like she sinned as much as some of the girls she's working with have.

You are NOT a cunt. I have NEVER heard nor read this word so much as I have today. No one deserves to be called that! I have ended a 10 year relationship because of a heated argument that ENDED with that word. Wrong or right that was not called for, I'm sorry you had to hear that. I would not go back.
btw I worked for the Hyatt for 14 years..More $$$$$$ now. Just in case you are considering.

if the thread was ment to be about her manager calling her a cunt, why is the title 'stood up for myself and got fired"? if the title had been "my manager called me a cunt" i would have had a different outlook on the story that followed.in fact i probably would have agreed with her and figured he was the douche.but since the first thing she said was misleading, i read the whole thing from the managers perspective.
isnt the title ment to be a summary sentance thingie of what the post is about? i read it as she was stressing the point that she had an altercation with a custy and got fired....
anywho...

Well I guess I saw it as I stood up for myself to a customer and got fired, so the title made sense to me. I'm not going to write the whole post in the title. I'm also not going to call it "i stood up to a customer, lied about it but "Smile you're on candid camera!", got fired and called a cunt".
I wasn't really trying to stress any particular part of it, just telling what happened. Sorry if you found it misleading.

I think it was extremely rude and quite menacing that Taylor's manager called her a cunt. If that happened in almost any other industry there'd probably be at least a threat of a lawsuit.
But I do get where Mermaidnz is coming from. I'm getting annoyed listening to girls bitching at me in the dressing room and elsewhere about how the management fined them or fired them for breaking the rules.
But I don't think Taylor was really doing this. She obviously gets why she was in trouble. Add me to the list of people who don't think firing was really called for. I think her manager was a total hothead. He blew up and in his rage he not only overeacted, but was also extremely rude.
Mermaidnz, I think that's where her indignation is from, not from her thinking that she should have gotten away with what she did.

I don't think it's self-righteous to be offended by certain derogatory names. The majority of women find the word "cunt" terribly offensive, and I think you know that. Self-righteous is acting as if you are perfect in your behavior and as if everyone else but you is flawed. You DID outrightly call her a cunt,
a liar is a cunt. personally, i value honesty up there, and someone that lies is a cunt to me. so yep, tbh, in that situation, id consider you a cunt. regardless of what these clique sw girls think. a liar is a cunt. i dont rate them
and she DIDN'T lie to YOUR face. She lied to her manager, and I still don't see why you are outraged by that.
As for the " me against the rest of you" comment, it's only that way if you decide to interpret it as such. Until now I have always enjoyed your contributions to this board and haven't been offended by anything that I can recall. I don't necessarily have a bad opinion of you now, I just think you went overboard with the personal insults. An apology to TaylorLila would do an awful lot to help your case, but I don't see that happening considering your attitude in this thread.
There are ways to express yourself that will get people to listen and consider your viewpoint. Doing the internet equivalent of lecturing and going into histrionics isn't going to get you anywhere. If there are things you are sick of on these boards, start a thread with a well thought out opening post (proofread so that you are getting your point across clearly) and see how that goes. You might be surprised that a lot of people are open to someone who is treating them with respect, even while that person is listing complaints. Hell, I would bet that many people have some of the same complaints that you do.

It always amazes me when a grown man decides to play the rude asshole with a dancer, gets it back in return, then whines that he felt "uncomfortable" to the management. There's a big difference between sticking one's boobs out AT the tip rail and playfully asking for a tip, and walking up to a table and saying "Tip me".
The OP was fired for being unprofessional -what was essentially a burst of pent up frustration and lying to cover up the mistake, and then the manager acts from his own pent up burst of frustration, in an incredibly unprofessional way. This industry is run like the Wild West, we all have to stick up for ourselves in little ways. Kicking someone's beer over is a bad idea, but I've done it, albeit in that smooth accidental way. Being a bit older, I don't think it's something I would do now, but just because of the possibility that he could get violent.

ok i 'm getting ready to point mermadz. in her slight defense cunt is used in a different way in Australia. i dont think she understands that here in the usa it is one if not the most offensive terms there are .
regardless the name calling and the down right meanness of the thread is totally not cool. so instead of deleting it i'm just going to close it. so everyone here will be reminded that what may seem not oh so offensive in another country will totally be offensive here in the usa. no one is really wrong but IMHO it was out of line to tell someone here she's a cunt. period
