Vicoden. Unfortunately, I found out that I really, really, like vicoden a few months ago when I had all my tooth stuff done... I still have a full bottle left but I'm saving it for my tattoo in feb/march.

it's super-fucking-tempting, though. BOOO addictive personalities. and this is why i don't do drugs.

soo.... yeah, +1 on exercise and sex.

You know what's F'ed up? I had some leftover vicodin and percocet in my medicine cabinet from dental work. I don't take those recreationally but they seemed worth holding onto (good idea with the tattoos!). One day recently I looked and the bottles were empty. That really disturbed me. It basically means one of:

1. my ex roommate (or his friends, most of whom I know)
2. one of a few good friends (I didn't have any "acquaintances" over in the time period in question)
3. apartment maintenance people
4. a few chicks I slept with

stole them. That really made me sick to my stomach, especially since I've had family members die due to opiate abuse.

Try 8 mg of lorazepam (Ativan) spaced over a day (in 2 mg pills) and you'll forget what anxiety even feels like. You may have to train yourself to take short power naps, though, because at these doses it can induce REM sleep while you are in the middle of a speech or in a fairly intense conversation.

Ativan is vastly smoother, less buzzy and much softer on your body than a very good red wine, which finishes second. No hangovers with Ativan, though.

Valerian root is also good, but be careful about doses.

Vicoden (hydrocodone) has an interesting benefit as an antitussant. If you've ever had one of those colds where you're a few minutes away from coughing up a lung, one Vicoden will shut that down immediately. It's one of the few things you can take to guarantee a good night's sleep. You will also decide that the world is a wonderful place and evil people are simply misunderstood.

Percocet (oxycodone and acitaminophen) can have the same effect, but is really better used as a painkiller.

All good suggestions but even lorazepam won't defeat severe anxiety, my mother has a debilitating case of it and was on it (and other things) for years with little result. Personally Vicoden made me run my mouth and lose inhibitions regarding what I said, so I wouldn't recommend it for situations you'd be anxious in. Percocet put me right to sleep and felt good (and did a better job dulling the awful tooth infection I had).

Oh and pot sometimes makes me less anxious - but sometimes makes it worse...
