I'm confused tho---do some places just set up the room and let you do your own colonic, and some they do it for you and massage your stomach at the same time?
I thought they also tell you of the results? I had a friend who did it because she had been suffering from Candida, and they told her that a lot came out.
That's prob the reason I haven't done it yet, I'd rather put it up my own ass, thanks....but OTOH, I would like an assessment, please...(of the current state of affairs in there)

When I had mine it wasnt at a medical clinic. She was a herbal therapist and i guess colon hydrotherapist. She was holistic and believed in cleansings, fastings, etc. She had my lay down and insert the tube about 1" into the anus. Then knock on the door when I was ready and covered with a blanket. We were in a room with the lights very low, soft music and incense. She would rub my abdomen helping move the water further up my intestine. It was a very plesant experience. I never thought about tipping her. In this case I guess I could/should have because it didnt feel like a medical setting. It was more like the setting you have at a day spa when getting a massage.
If anyone in Oahu wants a colonic Ill refer you to her....

I never get an assessment, noone is in the room with me, they justset it up and then when I'm ready they come back in and turn it on. When the timer beeps, they come back in and turn it off and I get dressed.
but..the tube the....stuff goes in is clear and lighted, lol. You justlay there and watch what's commin out....

^^^ Thats weird. They just leave you there? You should find someone more like the lady I saw. More of a holistic healer than medical place. It was so nice and soothing...

I have thought about this too from a weight loss perspective. Everything on me works fine and want to keep it that way. ;D
Has anybody noticed and weight loss from this? Or did it truly make you feel better? I am leaning towards not doing by using the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" motto. But I want to get about 5lbs more off me.

I think weight loss should be the last reason to get it done. Well, maybe weight loss and maintaining a healthy weight in the future---if you're cleaned out, you will better be able to absorb vitamins & nutrients. Any weight loss from a colon-cleaning is the same as weight loss from a steam room.

I have never lost weight from it. Maybe 1 lb at most.

Well put. It's a side benefit at most, and like Kaylinn said, it'd probably be a pound or so. It can benefit overall health, and thus lead to weight loss if other things are in place as part of a holistic plan, but it should never be the prime motivator.

Thanks for the replies. The only reason I ask about the weight loss was some of the "movie stars" did it as part of their get in shape regimen. I figured it was a long shot on the weight loss. I thought maybe cleaning out the digestive tract would have speed up food digestion in the future. I did not think it would flush up several lbs of crap, no pun intended. ;D

Some of them definitely do it as part of an overall plan, yup. They also sometimes will do it RIGHT before a red carpet event in order to flatten their stomachs as much as possible, but this effect is EXTREMELY short-lived and really practically imperceptible on most common folk.
If you have some photo op and need a slightly-flatter tum for a grand total of a few hours, go for it. ;)

I am not that desperate. :P I already dropped 15lbs, now just got to finish the last 5+ or so lbs. Guess I have to stay on the grind and away from the pizza.
Thanks for the help.

I usually tip my colon hydrotherapist. Some days she'll be really helpful (massage my tummy, give me tips, talk to me ...) but some days she'll rarely check up on me and once the system wasn't even working! (UGH I was laying down with no water flowing for half of the time). She didn't even give me a discount.. I didn't tip on that day, but I normally leave a tip because I just feel better about it.
