It probably used to be alot more important than it is now. The Pole is like the mascot for strip clubs, but it seems as if it's a lost art. I'm sure some customers really appreciate good pole work, but some clubs are even poleless. I'm glad it's not a requirement b/c I suck at the pole.

I agree, I can only lean against it and look cute. But as a customer I would like to see a girl or two do an impressive routine. I only get lap dances from those who do pole work since they are trying.

I love the pole so much that I bought one for home use. The challenge of learning something new is awesome! Depending on the clientele a club brings in, pole tricks can definately affect your money. I've had customers who love the pole tricks so much that they make it rain. Other than that, there are times when at least one guy will give me a big tip because of the pole tricks. One of the biggest compliments people have given me is that I make it more artistic than stripper style. Some customers LOVE athletic women and are very impressed by good pole work and some just want to see a girl oozing with sex appeal and sensuality. I don't feel that pole work is about being competitive at all. Its something I enjoy doing and because I'm a huge fan of Cirques du Soliel.
