My "critical thinking" comment was a bit sharp. But too many people, including some on this forum, are not being good critical thinkers. They are mindlessly accepting whatever is thrown out there at them. Whether that be the conspiracy theory crap, urban legends, or corporate and government propaganda.

In my experience, it's the "conspiracy theory" crowd that does more critical thinking; questioning sources, applying logic, demanding relevant facts. Because of the standard in critical thinking, most of us either cannot stand to watch T.V. because we tire of being constantly bombarded with bullshit (that becomes so transparent once one really starts to pay attention) or we only watch to find the holes in the propaganda. Nearly all stories in the major news are of either inconsequential importance (keep the public mind occupied with banality) or is spun according to the status quo guidelines of corporations and their good 'ole friends in the government.

You presume too much. I'm not ignorant of the various conspiracy theories. I'm fairly well educated on them actually. I've run in that crowd, at least one wing of it anyways. What I want is for some of the people spouting off this conspiracy stuff is to back up some of the claims and assertions they and you are making. You won't because you can't.

Bibliography work? Works Cited? Eh, who needs that crap anyways. The people producing these videos, pamphlets, books, and various conspiracy crap seem to have that attitude. And if they do just happen to give a source, it is something that can't be independently verified. They are also good in citing a secondary source which got its information from another secondary source which got its information from a third secondary source, etc ..etc.
Check out MK ULTRA, there are court records from the cases of the victims of this very real conspiracy conducted against American civilians. The fact that the Bush family (along with J.P. Morgan and others) are Nazis, is backed up by irrefutable documented evidence from the library of congress.
Here is the report from a prominent investigative journalist. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=80dgc63LMOY)

At one time "common sense" told people the world was flat.

The Catholic Church said the world was flat, and if you knew what was good for you, you agreed ...despite that vast curve to the horizon.

So this "observation" you've performed, was that at the scene or purely through the videos posted. Because people at the scene seem to have made a different observation.

Have you ever bothered to read this article:Implosion World (http://www.implosionworld.com/Article-WTC%20STUDY%208-06%20w%20clarif%20as%20of%209-8-06%20.pdf)

Also for all you people convinced that the Pentagon wasn't hit by American Airlines Flight 77, here's a lengthy but quite informative article. Pentagon Building Performance Report (http://www.fire.nist.gov/bfrlpubs/build03/PDF/b03017.pdf)

I'm sure this won't convince some of you. That's okay. You've got your minds made up, perhaps clouded with zealotry. There's no reason for personal attacks but those weren't unexpected. Some of you like to promote these theories and claims, disparaging good men and women who have served our country in one form or another. These conspiracy theories especially the ones surrounding September 11 are an insult to all of the men and women who died on the planes, in the World Trade Center, and in the Pentagon. They are an insult to the rescue workers, the investigators, the engineers, the clean-up workers and everyone else who worked at the WTC and the Pentagon. But some of you just throw these assertions around.

But even more disappointing is how some other members just seem to willingly accept this bullshit without a word, without a complaint. Some even eat the shit right up and start believing it might be true too. That's why I quoted Corgan in my initial post. Sorry Corgan but you just happened to be an obvious and recent example of something that happens far too much.

The observations made are that the "9/11 was an inside job" argument's points far excel the hole ridden tapestry of the "official" story. The videos of the attacks that were posted were every bit as good as what was aired that day or better. People that were there reported explosions that occurred in the basements just before the planes hit. People that were there saw the molten metal (which, once again, is impossible for jet fuel to accomplish). People that were there could see the stumps of the steel supports with obvious thermite cuts jutting out of the wreckage. The videos document the buildings falling at or VERY near free-fall speed (this could ONLY be accomplished with explosives). The men who designed the towers made it to withstand MULTIPLE attacks of the very sort that happened.
BTW-Your second link doesn't work, and I'm working on the holes I'm going to punch in the article from your first link... I see them but I'll need some time to explain them. Be back soon.

^^Wanna have sex? Oh wait...we already do. Probably not enough but that's another topic.

^ No, I'm not angry...just frustrated.

I def. don't want to argue. I'm having the same conversation/argument on another board right now, lol, so quite possibly I'm displacing things over here. Apologies.

It's ok - and sometimes I make personal attacks (or things that people perceive as such when it's unintended, often without even knowing it. Looking back on the thread I can see that but I don't necessarily think it was totally wrong of me. I was using what I said to prove a point about the way I felt I was being approached. It was an analogy.

about 12 years ago i read a book when i was prego with my daughter call "BEHOLD A PALE HORSE" by WILLIAM COOPER i believe a former cia agent that addressed many of the same forms of control that will slowly be implemented. Its interesting to see many things have unfolded as he said not to say i believed all of what he said at the time.

hahahah, what shit, I just watched that... Wow... the things people will take out of context and construe to look like a "conspiracy".

When I think of the US government, the image that comes to mind is that of ineptness, doing many things, but few, if any of them, very well. Somehow, I can't believe a government which mismanages everything else could pull off a conspiracy this great.

If it can make the fat cats money, you better believe they will manage it just fine.

why would you test windex on an animal?

Because it's a pretty blue liquid that unattended little kids and stupid people who can't read the word "WINDEX" might find tasty and try to drink. So PnG and other chem companies use living tissue to test the effects and causticity.

I dunno. I think it tastes pretty good.

Rats are usually a favorite test-candidate because, for some evolutionary reason, they have the exact same nervous system as we do.

Yes and that's why tests of fen-phen on animals such as rats showed that it was "safe for human use" but as we all know, once humans started using it, it caused heart failure, among other serious health issues.
Animals are NOT the same as humans. Their biological and chemical makeup is different. Sorry.

But some of them are quite close, and fen-phen worked quite well on most people, and I beleive heart failure was actually discovered in some of the rats.
Animals are NOT the same as humans, but some of them have some real similarities. Their biological and chemical makeup is as close as we can get. Sorry.

Thanks for the back there, jester.

The 5-hydroxytrypta-mine-6 (5-HT6) receptors in the basal ganglia of the human and rat brains are essentially the same. This part of the brain dictates central nervous system distribution and regulation to the rest of the body. Albeit I shouldn't have said exactly, the similarities are enough to warrant testing on our hapless murine friends. Although of the same family, mice incidentally, have a much lower concentration of these receptors.
Fish and many invertebrates have a reversed nervous "sheathing" structure and carry reception signals from the brain incompatible to us, hence med and bio labs do not use them for benchmark and comparison testing to human affect.

K, so I went and bought this (http://www.amazon.ca/Crossing-Rubicon-Decline-American-Empire/dp/0865715408/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1203419759&sr=1-1) book. Anyone read it?
