I guess she didn't love me bc I eat some sugar and don't wear enough cordoroy.
Lol, that's funny. "I don't like you because you don't wear enough corduroy." :D

I straight up told her that in the final goodbye letter. She'd frown about nail polish and yes, jeans. She loved to wear big ass baggy clothes that minimized her feminity to make a point, which is fine and excellent, but just cuz I feel most comfortable being in jeans and a tank top doesn't mean i'm a closed minded self absorbed hoochie!
You'd think vegans would be the least likely characters to not live by "live and let live" but I guess I'm judging them too---amazing how many hippie earth crunchy ppl I've met that are incredibly judgemental on people that don't look like them. Hell, I think I do most of the time, but if you don't wear cordoroy yr cast out, when meanwhille our beliefs and philosophies are quite similar and also not so common, so ya think we'd all band together!>:(
But I sincerely hate to see people representing what I stand for in a bad fashion, that is, being a nasty and judgemental vegan.

I'm so glad i don't get that crap from anyone. I carry a tote at times that says i'm a Vegan because i still have it. I was questioned about the glue on my shoes and my furniture etc. I simply said "if i could change the world i would"! The way of the world only allows us to go so far, and any step is good for me to live by. I wear leather, i love leather. I just don't eat any animal products. Because i chose not too. So now i am a vegetarian by way of food. Besides it's not one persons business to get pissy about how we chose to live. If you are a Vegan etc. you don't have to go all the way. PETA or not...i see Pamela Anderson in magazines and on E with leather, i know it's leather... ::) She even made a comment on her Gucci bag recently. I believe be who you are and what you want. Screw the rest.

just do what makes you happy and healthy- screw what other people think. It's your body, your choice. I'm a vegan, and I used to be militant and annoying, but now... I have realized that it's really population control. The ignorant people who continue to eat food full of hormones, artificial colorings, additives and over-processing will die early and in droves, while the people who are conscious about consuming food (even non-vegetarian food) that is free-range, hormone-free, organic, etc, will live longer and happier lives. I think it's safe to say there's a correlation between intelligence and diet.
The opposing argument to that would be that some people can't afford organic, hormone free, etc..... but it's really not that much more expensive. If you're really poor, you can still afford ramen and that's vegan without the seasoning packet- sure it's not good for you- but it's not meat.
Used to be militant? Seems to me you still are. Poor people should eat ramen with no seasoning? Um, hello; ramen noodles are full of processed flour. But, hey, as long as you're not eating meat, suffering from blood sugar problems and contributing to the obesity epidemic is ok, I guess.
For some, it's not about intelligence; it's about survival. If you value life like you say you do, you'd realize that. Guess you just place animal life on a higher pedestal than a human's.
Good for you.::)

no, you're wrong. I place animal and human life on the same pedestal, because we all rely on the planet for life- and if one of us gets out of balance with consumption- the other one suffers. I am not still militant, I'm very relaxed. Meat is way more expensive to buy when you're poor than vegetarian food- I know that for a fact as when I was a freshman in college, I lived with 3 other girls. I hadn't yet started dancing and had a budget of 30 dollars a week for food, I managed to buy lots of healthy vegetarian food for 30 dollars a week and nourish myself competently, while my room mates were spending 60-70 ish and eating crap supermarket food full of meat and dairy. It's about education, if you know what you need to survive on a vegetarian diet it's easy- access to that information is all over the internet, in public libraries, on pamphlets, fliers... it's not hard to learn that you need to make sure you get at least 40ish grams of protein, extra B12 and iron.

What about me? I value animals more than humans.
Fuck that was easy to say, and true. I mean i like people and all, but they are tough at times. Animals forgive! People don't. I would eat a person before an animal for survival purposes, really. Saying we are all dying anyway.
I'm a nut that way...tis true.

Pamela, you're about the most tolerant person I've ever come across, lol. Always have something nice to say and you have a gift for finding the good in everything.:)
As far as eating a person before an animal...now you're scaring me!:O

And you're not understanding what I'm saying. There is a high rate of obesity and diabetes amongst poor people and studies are starting to point to their consumption of too many carbs (as in beans, pasta etc.) which turn to glucose in your system.
And access to that information is all over the internet as well. But I'm not going to argue with you in Molly's thread.
Molly, you suffer from the same symptoms as I do and unfortunately your problems with IBS only add to the problem. I love that you have a conscience, but for people with our health issues, it might not be possible to go veggie without hurting yourself further.

I feel pretty much the same way you do Pamela. Most people are appalled by this notion though.

Sorry if this is off topic but I'm very curious, so excuse my ignorance. For those of you that are Vegan/Vegetarian that have pets, such as cats ect... what do you feed them?
I've read that cat diets should be carnivorous in order to be healthy.

I do feed my cat Iams. Perhaps I should switch to at least a "nature"brand, but I do it because I'm afraid if I run out the stores that sell them won't be open! I'm seriously nocturnal...
My cat is so beautiful and shiny, plus it can be bad to switch up their food.
I've read a little about vegetarian cats and dogs, but really I'm not sold.
They are little wild animals, aren't they? :P

What can i say hun...i have snakes, they eat meat only. And dogs which they actually do get a diet with meat products in it.
I mainly do Veg, style because of my health. And it helps me keep my weight down, also if i help one animal by not eating meat that is a huge plus. :)

my dogs are vegetarians, but my cat and ferrets are not. I've checked with my vet on this. My dogs look great.
I do feed my cat Iams.

Cats (and ferrets) require taurine and cannot synthesize it from non-meat sources. Cats should not be vegetarians, and I think actually should not go more than a few days without eating meat. Dogs can be healthy on a vegetarian diet, but I would say that it is generally not recommended.
For dog (or cat) food I recommend Wellness. http://www.omhpet.com/wellness/
This food, I tell you, is magic. I seriously believe it is better than making their food yourself. I could give you several testimonials of people who switched their dogs and cats over - after using this food people have said that it has helped with issues from housebreaking to seizures. Off topic I know - but I like to spread the food-magic around.
