^4th of July is secondary to Guam liberation day, which is celebrated with a parade and a carnival. July is a really fun month here=)
Shopping is, imho, not the best here. Everything is overpriced and the selection is extremely limited when compared to the states.
Having bbqs or drinkouts on the beach is probably the most practiced past time on the island, lol. If you ever have the chance try to go to a 'chamorro bbq' which is like a fiesta with yummy, endless food and music--so much fun! You could also go down to the pool at the Hyatt or Outrigger which are both beautiful and located right by the beach.
Snorkeling is a must. The fish here are fearless and will come right up to you and the water is very warm so you could comfortably snorkel for the entire day if you wanted to.
wednesday nights = Chamorro village. Make sure to try it out at least once. Chamorro bbq, stands selling all sorts of locally made arts and crafts, hula dancing!
Driving around the island is something everyone should try. The southern side of the island is beautiful!
Booze cruises are quite popular here, as is trolling.
The ethnic food tastes so much different out here. Japanese food is much more traditional and Chinese food is soooo much different than I remember it being in the states. So it can be likea food adventure. If you are living in Tumon it is possible to walk everywhere, so while I was on contract I made it a goal to eat at a new resturaunt every day which kept me out of the house.
Idk, daytime here is really relaxing=)
