just to let you all know, dont admit going over customs you are dancing, me and a friend barely mentioned it and customs threw the biggest fit ever and even acted like id never entered the country, although my passport was stamped quite a bit due to me being a flight attendant.
so yeh they freakkkk out, just keep it on the dl.

There are 2 clubs in Fort St Mac. 1 Showgirls; gives you a stage count for the week. You make money from your tips on stage and your private non contact dances.
2 Teasers: stage only club, where you can make only tips from your stages and your stage count(paid out by the club).
I worked at Showgirls in Grand Prairie. The club offered me a room to stay in at the dancer house for $160 a week, and deducted it from my pay at the end of the week. The dances were bs b/c the club takes about $14 from all your dances, to be paid out at the end of the night. Plus, the doorman in the champagne room wants min 2$ tip out per dance :P The place was kinda slow, but I still made my budget.
To get booked there, I think that you have to be with IA, and they are tough cookies when it comes to sending you for bookings. For example, when I applied to the agency, it took a few times before they decided to call me back. I live on the other side of Canada, I really had to sell myself over the phone.

Showgirls is a RIP OFF!! There is another club there but the name is escaping me atm.
The name of the other SC in Ft. Mac you're thinking of is Teezers and it's a really sleazy club. IMO the clubs there do rip you off but if you have promos and your hustle is tight then you're going to make decent $$. There are so many riggers there spending loads of cash in the SC because the male to female ratio there is 8:1.

I've heard a lot about strip clubs in ft mac and GP but what about in Edmonton? Is Showgirls a no-no? What about Diamonds or Eden? Chez Pierre is out of the question though.

Regarding Vancouver....
I live in Seattle and have been talking to Stripper.... they asked me for a resume, which I was suprised about. My question is how formal of a resume?
The way I layed mine out was by listing work history as the clubs I worked at for a year or more, and listing competitions and where I placed for each club, then I made a section for places I have traveled to work and just listed the clubs. Am I doing this correctly? This just seems so wierd! Thanks!

It is hard for me to believe that with all of the huge clubs in the United States that you are so happy to go to Toronto to work, especially since you are in the no contact category..
I have been to Toronto a dozen times for events and shows and I have never seen their clubs being little or no contact...
Not that there's anything wrong with that, and Toronto is a blast, I love it there, but I just hope your not being lied to about the contact just to get you there,
But I am sure a professional place would not do that, Right?

hi, i start stripping in Paris and then germany-italy-england-swiss-ibiza....before i came to canada. lap dance is new for me,its different compare what i know about my job??
i do not believe theres no non-contact club in toronto,:P but i believe now, i went to check out few clubs like brassrail , they been very honest to me, i am glad i fly to toronto and pay hotel for 2 nights, finally I had my answer.i am working in Montreal and kingston for 2.5 years.nice and clean .i will stay here doing airdance and keep my eyes open on searching non contact club :)if something new come up
theres a club name fairbank i went .anyone hear about that ?
thanks

i've heard a customer refer to fairbanks hotel as the chinese stripclub. i think it's owned and operated by chinese. i went there to check it out and it seemed that everyone who worked there was chinese... the vibe was a bit shady. it was completely dead, maybe one old guy sitting around. it's not like other toronto clubs for sure. i think how it works is that you have your picture in a book and a customer will decide if he wants to take you for a dance based on your picture. like, girls don't walk around on the floor. kinda weird to me, but if that's ok with you then sure.
a club is what you make it. you can help be part of the change.. if letting a guy touch your tits isn't your thing then tell the guy that if he tries. toronto is getting worse and worse it seems for contact but it doesn't have to be. clubs that were strict seem to be more lax on their rules. you can still make money and have your personal set of rules. i don't bend my personal rules (which are stricter than other girls' rules i've found) and i still do well. i've found for myself that many guys respect your personal comfort levels anyways. not most, but many. if not, then whatevs, move on. i'd rather leave with my dignity than an extra $100, personally. so you want your club to be less contact? be the change, encourage others. it's a group effort.

i have heard montreal is a crazy place to work. extras are the norm. a lot of the french canadian girls come to miami and wpb to work. they are beautiful but yeh definately they do it all without question. the french have always been known to be very sexual and open so it really doesnt surprise me. i wonder how bad it really is???

Fairbanks is a little different than most Toronto clubs. It is not a great club for a freelancer. oh.maya.gosh already mentioned that you don't hustle for dances, that is the first thing. The second is that guys can get $10 lapdances, or a half-hour session in the VIP for $80. The dancers do not keep all that money, is my understanding (although I could be wrong on this.) And the lower price does not mean no contact, unfortunately. Overall, I would not recommend it, especially for someone travelling through.

I work at the Seville Club in MPLS, MN, which doesn't hire traveling dancers. However, I also work at the Northern in Fargo, which does hire traveling/seasonal girls, and they're very nice there:)
I was asking about Montreal because the question came up in one of my groups, so thank you for the info:)

lilimalin or anyone else with experience working in Kingston- what do you think of Shaker's Lounge? I'm debating working there, any info would be great.

Shakers in Kingston is a "claimed" no contact bar!
I know the manager Tina personally!
She is a wonderful lady who takes care of the girls!
I had only worked there as a feature, but know of many girls who love it there!
There is a pole school there...a great stagewear designer, a tanning salon in the hotel, rooms are decent....all in all a decent club!

Hey I was wondering if anyone knew the fastest way to get a licence in Toronto, mine expired a few years ago. I was hoping (fingers crossed) to get it all done in one day and maybe go to work that evening. Will I need to have a Toronto address?.. oh, and the kicker is that I don't have a car so I'll have to take other transport like go-bus or whatnot. And does anyone know how much it'll cost in total? Last I heard it would total to about 400. Thanks!
oh.maya.gosh
09-09-2009, 09:18 PM
400 is right. You'll need a car. Rent one or get a friend to drive you to the Peel police station. Wait there for like 2 hours and pay $40 for a police record check. Drive to the east York civic centre and wait again for another couple of hours. I'm sure you don't need a Toronto address as they won't mail you anything then, you get it on the spot.
Remember you can renew licenses in the mail with credit card info and then they mail you a new license. Picture card has to be done in person. You don't wanna drive thenfigure out how to get to Peel via transit.
You'll have it so you can work that night if the club takes you.

Any idea if a working holiday visa is enough to get the license, if I arrive in Toronto on the day or a day or so earlier and I've never been to Canada surely a police check is not needed or even possible (to get the working holiday visa one needs police records from all countries you've resided in for longer than six months...)
Or anyone knows who I can ask? Anyone has a email for the civic centre mentioned above?
Any insight greatly appreciated.
Raphaelle

Couldn't find an email, but the phone number the the licensing office is 416-392-6700. They should be able to tell you what you need. Also, it's called a "burlesque entertainer's license" here to save any confusion. Whatever you do, get to the office as soon as it opens (8:30) because if you don't you could be waiting HOURS to get through.

Diamond's and Eden in Edmonton are non-contact. Lots of girls do really well here. If you work hard you definitely bank. It's been kinda crap this year, we have felt the economy slump too, but if you know what you're doing you will have fun :)
