^^^I know N's sister was the anti-semite. But he *did* promote genocide, so that's why I have a hard time taking his 'will to power' stuff very seriously. The dude was a total misogynist. He was an excellent writer, and I like his take-down of the Christian rule...but he was an extremist, and I think his ideas need to be taken with a grain of salt.

I don't think Heidegger is the best of Continental...My favourite of those is actually Gadamer. And Kierkegaard always seemed very interesting. I'm just saying that it really does get a bit sticky, that stuff. Heidegger just seems like a good example of everything I hate about Continental philosophy. A thousand densely worded paragraphs discussing the nature of 'being', based on the word "dasein" itself. Bah. Give me pragmatism any day.

Well, all the drinks were these mini bottles of wine that come individually sealed, plus tequila shots. I'm sure she can hold her liquor, but I can drink like a fish (and do) and I was feeling pretty drunk. It's possible it's a well-scripted routine, but it seems unlikely considering she had at least 5 or 6 shots of tequila, 7 or 8 glasses of wine, pills (lol) and some redbull/vodkas, and she weighs mebbe a hundred pounds soaking wet.

OMG that's waaaay too much alcohol to be healthy! :O I cannot honestly imagine drinking all that much in one night(although I'm sure a lot of dancers do it though). Hearing that long list of drinks makes me feel sick to my stomach...or maybe I just feel sick because I drank a little too much on an empty stomach last night? (but nowhere near 6 shots + 8 wines + pills + redbull/vodkas though) LOL

PhillyDancer,

It was definitely a lot, which was what made me think it'd be hard/unpleasant/impossible to convincingly and effortlessly lie through that much booze, but you never know obviously as I have accepted lol.

mollyzmoon,

Where does Nietzsche promote genocide?

She seemed to talk a lot and went out of her way to try to describe herself as contrary to the typical stereotypes of strippers imo, like "I didn't do this because I had a bad relationship with my father or anything" and such, lots of fairly personal (if true, of course) and unprovoked stuff, she definitely had a good hustle though. And she definitely got a lot of $ out of me, so you never know.

It's definitely a case of "my new favorite dancer ever" though :)

This might sound a wee bit bitchy but if I were drunk off my ass with a customer, kissing him and giving him my phone number, popping pills and shooting tequila...I wouldn't waste time talking about how I was different than stripper stereotypes.

...I know this is way nothing to do with the thread, but my final thoughts on Nietzsche

In "The Will to Power" he said (I'm paraphrasing) "the weak and suffering should be allowed to die, and maybe they should be helped (to die)".

His whole "the strong barbarians prevail!! Rah rah rah!!", and virtuous weaklings ought to be 'helped to shut up and die off'. I mean, uhm? What? Sounds quite a bit like what every psychotic power-maniac says when he justifies killing bazillions of 'lesser people'.

I mean, people can downplay his craziness all they want, but he's the one who wrote that stuff. I won't deny there's some interesting ideas...And yet, he wrote all about his love for "the blond barbarians" who pillaged and rampaged, killing and stuff just because they could. He said "blond barbarians" are oh so awsome, and yet we're supposed to believe he was an equal-opportunity tyrant lover? Whatever. I just never bought into that whole idealism of tyranny thing.

but for 8 hours of constant drunkery? I'm also not gonna act like I'm immune to being hit on... but I'm pretty generally paranoid / convinced people are using me, ahh whatever I guess

Probably she's just really good at her hustle and that's that, either way it was fun and I'll go back :P but it's nice to mentally entertain the thought of leaving my boring life to run off with some gorgeous stripper lol

Also if I do end up taking her out / whatever there will be some serious bragging going on ITT ;) lol

Welcome to the madhouse.....

If you've searched Customer Conversation (aka CC) you'll find innumerable threads from newbies asking: "how to I get to meet this dancer outside of work?" And the answer (in most cases) is that you don't - holding out the hope of an "outside the club" (OTC) meeting is standard dancer technique to keep the $$$'s flowing towards her garter.

(Though I must say you're taking things very well - normally half the fun of these threads is seeing the originator throwing their toys out the pram when they don't get the answers they want).

Some dancers will see customers outside of work, although there's two distinct ways it can happen. First way is that the customer pays the dancer for her time - essentially a commercial arrangement. Second way is that a dancer takes a genuine liking to a customer and decides to see them outside of work. That's much rarer than a dancer being paid for her time.

In the event of her seing you outside for the fun of it, don't expect her to be too much like the person you met at work. Many dancers put on a fake personality when they walk into the dressing room at their club (and leave it behind when they stop work for the night).

That said, there's no harm is exploring the possibilities - just don't get your hopes too high.

Phil.

I ended up spending like, 8 hours straight with this girl (at the club obviously, some of the time paying for dances/etc) and we drank a lot. And I can hold my liquor, she must've been drunk. She asked for my number, told me all about her family life and stuff, what she wants to do with her life, and a ton of stuff that I think she must have been too drunk to effectively make up completely. Plus she kissed me (zomg) and was otherwise cuddly/affectionate for the duration of this time, yeah yeah I know she's just trying to get some $ outta me (which she did, a lot) but I ask you...

...any remote snowball's chance in hell that this girl is interested in me at all? I mean if she was completely acting the entire time, she could be a CIA spy for all I know because she was good at it...

Also I'm new here, hi guys :)

I guess you will know if the phone rings. Note she asked for your number vs giving you hers...good luck.;)

yeah yeah I know lol... I already got punked today when some unknown # called me, a pretty-sounding girl's voice asked for me, and it turns out it was my bank wondering if I wanted to reorder checks... d'oh!

My experience has been this: if they asked for a number outside work (like at the gym in my case) they usually called and were interested. If they asked for a number at work (and it is work!), they usually didn't call, but some times they did. If they gave their number, then they were interested. I would say you have a 10-20% chance she will call, but that's a total WAG on my part of course, but that's been my experience there.

You can play it a few ways. Forget about it and smile that you had a fun night with a pretty girl, spent too much $$$, and got worked like a red headed step child. Hey, that is their job after all and some of them do it damn well!

You could also go back there and see if she remembers you, see how she responds to you, and have some fun, without acting like a stalker or what ever. Problem is, it is their job and they are at work, so even if interested, they are working (very hard for men to keep that in mind with all that girl flesh in front of your testosterone filled male brain) and even if interested, work generally comes first. Some have a "no dating guys I meet at the club" policy and some don't as well.

She remembered me the 2nd time I went in there, she came up to my when I was at the bar and just started hanging out so, I hope she'd remember me if I went back but you never know :) lol

I'll just relax I guess, if she calls, AWESOME and if not, fuck it I'll still go back and spend oodles of $ on her, she'll just hafta dance for it instead of ask hahaha

If I won the lotto I'd be the best SC customer of all time lol - edit - and I mean that because I'm a huge sucker for a pretty girl

Sorry to whoever's getting bored with philosophy but it's way more entertaining than the whole does she like me nonsense...

Heidegger just seems like a good example of everything I hate about Continental philosophy. A thousand densely worded paragraphs discussing the nature of 'being', based on the word "dasein" itself. Bah. Give me pragmatism any day.

I could not agree more with this. Even without his nazism Heidegger kind of makes me want to gag, or at least nap. To me the best aspect of continental philosophy isn't all the overblown essay text but instead the literature associated with it, particularly Kafka, Camus, some Sartre and De Beauvoir, as well as Nietzsche (more of a predecessor really).

...I know this is way nothing to do with the thread, but my final thoughts on Nietzsche

In "The Will to Power" he said (I'm paraphrasing) "the weak and suffering should be allowed to die, and maybe they should be helped (to die)".

Some of the social commentary is wild but I haven't really found many philosophical concepts that I'm more enamoured with than amor fati and eternal recurrence. And *for the time* his break with Wagner over anti-semitism and other fairly strong criticism of anti-semites was rather liberated. Yes the overly idealized polemic can get old. Actually I couldn't stand Nietzsche the first time I read him, largely for that reason, but now I'm a big fan.

OK I think I've nerded out this thread enough.

i just want to say that i'm a little amused that yet another "does she like me? does she really like me?!" thread has gotten to 3 pages.

That's probably mostly my fault, sorry. I think I kept it towards the top of "new posts" when it might have otherwise died. At least we got a nice do not feed the trolls pic out of it though!

Every time I see this thread title I laugh my ass off.

When I was 21 I met a customer and lead him on for almost a year.... umm I had this guy buying me tons of shit, giving me lots of money for no reason. I talked to him about my personal life... I would have nights where I told him not to give me money because I just enjoy his company...

Yea I played this guy HARD CORE.

So ummm.... yea uh... yea im leaving it at that.

Beer goggles can also be worn by strippers. You can find plenty of threads from girls based on "What was I thinking?!" when it comes to their own behavior with customers.

But...you just might be that one in a million.::)

The reason this thread went to 4 pages is the fact that the usual 'does she really like me?' question got diverted into philosophical matters in a rather amusing way.

MollyZMoon, I read most of Nietzsche while taking a class devoted to his works. It was taught by a Jewish professor who was quite brilliant and imaginative, and most definitely not anti-Semitic. While Neitzsche is admittedly a bit out there, so are 98% of philosophers, lol. But his work was twisted in a very nasty way by Hitler, et al, in order to promote something he never would have condoned.

Also if I do end up taking her out / whatever there will be some serious bragging going on ITT ;) lol

Please, if you do take her out, no bragging. Unless you want to take it to the blue side, where you can regale the fiction writers (not that all of them are lying about the free lap dances and extras, mind you) with your success. Bragging about dating strippers is extremely boring when your audience is strippers.

results/variance:

she calls me last night, just to shoot the shit for about a half an hour. this is cool, i am pleased. i end up drunk at the bars, get in a fight with my friend, we're both covered in snow, it's cold as hell. i go there and visit her anyway (since i know she's working til 4... i get there at like 3:30 lol) and we chill briefly, dance, etc. she says she's going to call me today now. alrighty.

probabilities*:
she has a nice hustle / is working this angle to get more $$: 87%
she is crazy/emotionally wounded/unstable and feels like i understand her: 7%
she's uncontrollably in love with me: 6%

(* - all probabilities fabricated)

bullet points:

she didn't ask me to come visit her at the SC, but she also didn't ask me to meet her anywhere outside of the SC. i didn't ask her out anyplace though, as i was mostly just caught off guard and i am a huge pussy ;)

she apparently wasn't lying about most of the stuff she told me before, including not having a cell phone, since when i called her to tell her i was at the club it went to her voicemail which was "not set up yet" confirming her claim of having just purchased a gophone (also possible hustle/game, but that seems like a lot of effort to go through...)

FWIW, I have for about 5 years now seen three dancers outside of work as friends. Not exactly common, but it suits all of us.

Highest probability is that you're a good source of income (player) but there is a small but finite probability that she would like to meet you OTC. (Friendship/love).

In two of three cases it was the dancers who asked for my number. In the third, I hadn't realised the dancer was really shy IRL, and it was only when we bumped into each other unexpectedly and she gave me a huge hug and a kiss that I realised she was waiting for me to ask for hers.

One thing I will say - dancers either view you as a friend or as a customer. If they view you as a customer they will behave very differently towards you than if they regard you as a friend.

You can get a fairly good clue as to how this dancer thinks of you by how she behaves when she dances for you. If she's thinking of you as a friend, she'll be a little uncomfortable. If she's thinking of you as a customer, she'll have no problem dancing for you.

If she's after friendship and/or love, odds are she'll take a little bit of time to make up her mind. Seeing someone OTC is a significant psychological step for a dancer. It means you see the real her, not the fantasy version in the smoke and mirrors that is a strip club. Also means she'll start to allow you into her private life, and many dancers keep a rigid distinction between work and private life.

Phil.

On these two points, she definitely seems comfortable dancing for me, but it's also not particularly sexual (at least compared to what my general expectation of a strip club is) and is a lot more like... cuddling? lol I dunno what to call it. She may just be reading my reactions to her though and changing how she dances to what I appear to respond best to.

I've sort of got a little bit into her private life I guess. At least in terms of knowing things about her. She claims to be an amazing cook (claims to have gone to a culinary program iirc) so maybe I can convince her to cook for me... I dunno.

Either way, I'm relatively pleased with the outcome so far... I'll try not to fuck it up, lol

...she definitely seems comfortable dancing for me, but it's also not particularly sexual (at least compared to what my general expectation of a strip club is) and is a lot more like... cuddling?

I'd noticed some time ago that most dancers who talk to me on a genuinely personal level (not just the three I mentioned) started to get uncomfortable dancing in front of me. (Body language has been an interest of mine for many years). And ditto, I started to feel uncomfortable taking any notice.

I eventually found what I believe to be the explanation in a book on psychology (another interest). We tend to adjust our behaviour to suit the person we are with and, within reason, act in a way we feel will gain their approval.

Accordingly, if a dancer sees you as a customer, they'll behave as they think that customer wants them to behave in their stripper persona. And because they're playing a role (stripper) there's no inhibition against getting naked in front of the customer.

Most dancers however don't get naked in front of their male friends, so accordingly, feel uncomfortable being naked in front of me if they start to regard me as a friend - even a very casual one. And I pick that up from the body language and feel uncomfortable looking at them - "acting in a way to gain their approval".

I've sort of got a little bit into her private life I guess. At least in terms of knowing things about her. She claims to be an amazing cook (claims to have gone to a culinary program iirc) so maybe I can convince her to cook for me... I dunno.

Outside of work one of the dancers I know is a superlative cook. The other has trouble getting boiled new potatoes right. Law of averages I guess.

Phil.
