L'oreal Voluminous is my stand by. I've tried Dior Show - it was pretty good, but it got funky on me pretty quick, something went weird with the brush, it got all clumpy.

I am weird, I like eye makeup that is easy to remove. I never have a problem with runnage and I hate scrubbing at my eyes like crazy trying to get crap off. So I hate waterproof stuff. Maybellines' Great Lash was a bitch to get off.

I just ordered that fiber lash stuff from Sephora. It was 20 something dollars, I hope I like it...

i use different mascaras for work and for everyday.

work: prestige lash matrixx (not bad at all! long, thick lashes)

everyday: revlon 3D extreme (very, very good!)

other mascaras i've been impressed with:

l'oreal voluminous
stila major lash
maybelline xxl
maybelline lash stylist
almay triple effect

It's crazy how MAC can't make a good mascara, with all the resources they must have!

they can't make a good eyeshadow primer, either. you would think that with all the supposedly great eyeshadows they make, a good primer would be there. sadly, no. urban decay's primer potion blows mac's prep + prime out of the water.

dior show. my ultimate fav. I liekd MAC plush lash at first but it definitely gets all over my eyelids and diorshow is much easier, even though it dries out VERY fast, at least mine does. I hate when its getting down to the end and I get like mascara crumbs on my face. That happen to anyone else?

I've been using Loreal's Voluminous happily for years. I think I want to check out the Revlon 3D out though.

I like DiorShow but it only looks impressive on me when I put 3-4 coats on. When I first applied it I was expecting insta-fake lashes and was a little disappointed.

I'm a tried and true Lancome mascara fan though--they never fail me, particularly Flextencils and Definicils.

My favorite drugstore mascara is L'Oreal's Telescopic. It made my lashes seriously like four times as long.

Love Diorshow, it's all I'll use on my clients. Chanels mascara is ok, but one can purchase better for cheaper. Or just stick with Dior's! I HATE MAC mascara. It is CRAP, and I've always gotten complaints when i've used it on a client. It's about the only product I loathe that MAC makes.

Okay I just got my IMJU fiber mascara from Sephora and I tried it, it's okay. It actually doesn't add any length like it says and you have to put a lot of it on to get any volume, and then you are risking major clumpiness. So over all, I was really bummed that I'd just blew 22 dollars on a crappy mascara BUT then I went to remove it and it is SO easy to remove. It just sort of crumbles off with a little water. It doesn't run or smear or anything, just nicely comes off. And this is big for me. I absolutely hate having to remove stubborn mascara. So I may use it for a nice everyday mascara. Kay, that's my review. Oh, and the brush is great - kind of like the diorshow one.

I second the Revlon 3D. Love it.

I've been wanting to try DiorShow though.

I take it back, ladies. I've been using MAC's PlushLash for about two weeks now and I've figured it out, haha. Wiggle the brush at the base of the lashes and slowly bring it up through the lash. Then, curl your lashes. I don't even want to wear falsies anymore.

I've used Loreal's Voluminous for years now. I've tried more expensive brands, but I truly believe mascara is one of the few makeup items I don't need to splurge on. Foundation, yes, eye shadows, yes, brushes yes. Mascara, no not worth it. I always wear fake eyelashes for work tho so maybe that has something to do with it.

I honestly prefer cheapo lashes to more expensive ones, too. I have a pair of MAC lashes and they're okay but I like my WalMart lashes better.

My club seem to be having a long lashes competition at the moment :O

I usually where fake lashes and then further pump them up with Dior Show. But for everyday wear i use Estee Lauder Lash XL. It makes my natural lashes look really long and opens my eyes without making my look like i have a heap of make up on.

For all those girls who are trying to grow there natural lashes have you guys ever heard of Jan Marini?

http://www.janmarini.com/AgeInterventionEyelashConditioner.html

I know its a little expensive but there are a few girls who have been using it at my work and the results are incredible! I compared my fake lashes to a friends natural lashes and they were the same length!

Voluminous. It can get a little goopy, have to kind of blot at it with a tissue before applying.
I used to love Maybeline (the pink tube), but I don't know if they changed their formula or what, but it gave me total spider-eyes the last time.:-\

no, you do not need to splurge on mascara. drugstore brands can make fabulous mascaras that are cheap in price.

I'm going to go back to Voluminous I think. Revlon 3D flakes some and it goes on alittle clumpier. I like the POP but grrr to flaking.

L'oreal Voluminous in waterproof. I bought Covergirl Lashblast in waterproof and found it harder to remove even with a good makeup remover. I may try Revlon 3D, but I'll probably be wasting my time and money because Voluminous is really good. The waterproof is excellent for holding a curl and I don't have any problems with flaking or clumping.

I use the Revlon 3D Extreme, too, because it works like an effin' DREAM for me, 'specially after I curl my lashes.. Like wearing falsies, but without all the B.S. that comes with falsies!
As for the clumping problem, I tend to wipe the wand off a bit with a paper towel before putting the mascara on.. Tends to work for moi!

right now urban decay "big fatty" in the color "black cherry". i love love love the color as it's very difficult to find a good deep (not freakishly bright) red/burgundy. my eyes are gray and they always look great with that shade.

however, the brush isn't the best. it's "ok" but i have to use another clean/dry brush to get it "just right". it also takes 3 or 4 coats. if it weren't for that color being perfect, i wouldn't care for it over other brands.

dior needs to make a burgundy. if they did i'd be totally sold.

Maybelline's Intense XXL (2 part) in very black.

You ladies need to try Lancome Fatale!
But you need to use the primer (cils booster xl) underneath.
The trick is, dont let the primer dry before applying the mascara! Put it straight over the top. Big old tranny lashes!! This primer also works well with Hypnose and L'extreme too.
Mac mascara licks balls. The best dept store brands are Dior/Lancome.
Lancome has a different mascara for everyone.

Thanks for reminding me- I forgot they put out colored mascara not too long ago- I want to try the indigo color. Is the tube itself as fat as the normal mascara? When my Avon mascara is finished I will save the brush to see if it fits.

If anyone buys Avon, try the Super Shock mascara it is pretty good for the price. I paid about $3 for mine when they have those demo sales. It is a rubbery brush and I love the stiff bristles. I go back and forth between that and Voluminous. The Avon brush is bigger than the Loreal one though. I tried to use the Avon brush in the Voluminous tube and it barely made it through the tube, all the mascara on the brush went all over the outside of the tube.

I use that too...I love it. I also use this mascara from Avon...I forget the name because I don't use it all the time, but it makes my lashes super long. Mascara is the one make up item that I CANNOT live without. I put it on everyday.

Mirenesse Secret Weapon. Coolest ever. You can take it off with wet fingers and it comes off in little tubes that look like eyelashes but are just mascara.

It's totally non-allergenic, cry-proof and all-round woopdi-doo.

I believe one of the mags voted it above diorshow.

I use Too Faced Lash Injection and the tried and true Maybelline in pink tube. I think the Too Faced has a funky smell, but it lasts all night and the next day when I'm too lazy to take off my eye make up after work/going out.
