It's a seasoning that you can get anywhere and use on just about anything. It's wonderful in paella. It's not spicy though, but sooooo good!

Salmon! Its sooo easy to cook and I'm on a huge fish kick this week. I let it sit in some soy sauce and lemon juice for about 20 minutes then I just pan fry it with a little olive oil, fresh pepper, and kosher salt. I'll probably munch on some broccoli later for desert. I never eat a well rounded meal all at once. I like to space it out over a couple hours.

My healthy eating failed majorly this weekend. Today brunch was some Ben and Jerrys and yesterday I did good by eating sushi but then decided to have a small party here and two drinks. I rarely drink anything but wine... but I did discover that you can't taste the vodka in a cran+vodka at all if you put a little lime juice in it. Needless to say I was trashed off of two drinks because they were strong and I'm a shrimp.

Ooh, I love TONS of sauce on my pizza. It'd be interesting with creamed spinach though. Let me know how it turns out!

great, now i want pizza for dinner :P But I've been on a blueberry pancake kick lately (like, will use up my calorie limit on a plate of blueberry pancakes and not eat for the rest of the day, lol)...so that just might happen again tonight.

Last night I tried Qdoba b/c of all the raves it was getting a few pages back...but their enchiladas were AWFUL. :-\ Seriously the most disgusting thing I've had in a long time. It was basically just a huge glob of greasy cheese, a few sad little pieces of diced tomato, and literally one bite of guacamole on the side. WTF? No lettuce, no sour cream, no jalepenos, and I'd asked for (and paid for) an extra side of pico de gallo and didn't get any. ew.

I've never made veggie burgers from scratch before, but they turned out so delicious! I am really surprised and impressed. And excited because now that I have a recipe for the base, I can add all kinds of different flavors (mmm.... spicy!).

ooh, I want to make veggie burgers! Would you mind sharing the recipe? :-*

^Yeah, hook up the recipe. I've tried making veggie burgers but they always turn out too mushy/runny.

Tonight we're having boneless pork chops, mashed taters n' gravy, broccoli, and...something else I haven't decided yet. I might open a can of butter beans. Only one of my daughters really likes them but hey more for me.

Black bean and corn dip. K has to have it at least once a week when he's home, or the world comes to an end. What the hell, it's not too bad for us.

I made baked fish with Ezekiel bread crumb breading. It was soooo good! I used yellow onion, garlic, and rosemary in the breading. I put lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper over the fish before breading it. Yum!

I also made mashed red potatoes with garlic, and pan-fried asparagus. I was so happy, cause I'm kind of a baby cook and I'm just starting to figure out how to put things together and eyeball things and time things. Yay!

We have a new charcoal grill, so we broke it in with steaks. I roasted root veggies to go with - a mixture of white potato, sweet potato, carrots, and parsnips, tossed with olive oil, rosemary, and paprika. After dinner we made Passover cookies out of ground hazelnuts and chocolate (they're thin hazelnut cookies in little sandwiches with chocolate in the middle). So yummy!

Well I'm too broke for a chef but if Yek were to write a cook book I'd buy it.

Tonight was homemade mac n' cheese with a Newcastle. What diet? huh? Its midterms week and I'm soo stressed that all I want is my comfort food to make it through the week.

We have some friends coming over for dinner tonight, so I'll bake some fresh bread and steam some broccoli while K throws some fresh corn and tuna steaks on the grill. I'll probably make some dill-chive-lime butter for the tuna steaks. I haven't decided yet what bread to make.

Our friends aren't coming over after all and we've both been cooking all afternoon. K is marinating tuna steaks in lemon juice, lime juice, and soy sauce, later to be grilled in the dill-chive-lime butter I just made. We have fresh corn, also to be grilled with the same butter. I'm making spinach-parmesan bread (it looks so good, it has onions and garlic and pine nuts in it too), and steamed broccoli. And K just made a big bowl of spicy tortilla chips (he makes his own tortilla chips) and now he's making guacamole. We even have gin and tonic fixings. Bummer that friends cancelled on us because we're never going to eat all this. Who wants to come over? CKXXX, bring your fettucine? :D

Yes they did. It was great! We ate outside on the balcony and watched the hummingbirds. Very pleasant dinner, I love to grill out!

We watched There Will Be Blood after dinner and now I seriously doubt we'll ever be able to enjoy a milkshake ever again. "I DRINK IT UP!!"
