oh my god i cooked the prettiest meal i wanna take a pic, and post it but i tink that would be overkill. its was
a fish fillet cooked in butter and garlic
broccoli
and alfredo noodles
and i did like the thing they do on cooking shows where they add water to the fish drippings to make a sauce..... Gourmet!

Lazy dinner since I'm home alone and haven't gone grocery shopping. Sauteed the rest of a quarter cabbage I found at the back of the fridge, in a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and then threw in a couple cloves of garlic, two green onions, a half-cup of cooked whole wheat penne, and a bit of crushed red pepper. I grated a little pecorino on top. Didn't expect it to be good, but it wasn't bad actually!

Two tofu and avocado sushi hand rolls and a little bit of Polish dark rye and corn bread. Also a few lollies.

The other night it was roast chicken, bread and some low fat cheese on water crackers.

No-one can accuse me of being the low carb type ;) (though low carb really isn't feasible if you're a runner anyway).

I still haven't been to the grocery. For the past two days I've been eating the vegan Mexican food at work. It's really yummy and vegan so I might as well, but I'm starting to crave something different... maybe after work tonight I'll go get some pho.

You think? I've been buying london broil for cheaper than chicken breasts for over a year now!

I just bought London Broil for 1.88 a lb. I bought... like...... 11lbs!

and yep, it was cheeper then the chicken I bought last week, bonless skinless for 1.99lb.

yay for sales!!!!

ok... back OT:

dinner tonight is Taragon Seseme Chicken with Sauteed spinach and Rice.

I'm hungry already! :p

Leftover veggie-lentil soup, I suppose. I just got some whole-wheat penne with flax - super high in protein - and I really want to saute it in some olive oil with fresh garlic, spinach, and artichoke hearts... but no point cooking all that when it's just me and I have a ton of soup left over.

Tonight.....Turkey burgers with lettuce and tomato on whole wheat buns, and asparagus as the side.
we're health nuts.
For dessert I usually have a yogurt or two oatmeal cookies with a small glass of fat free milk.

I'll steam some broccoli or something though. :P

I buy in bulk too when it's on sale! I also marinate each piece in a big ziploc bag and toss 'em in the freezer. That way, when I feel like cooking one, I just have to take it out in the morning before I go to work. The marinade helps to break down the meat so that it ends up being more tender!

Tonight, I'm going to make some steak fajitas, homemade guacamole and homemade pico de gallo. I can't wait!

I cook them in the crock pot, usually, so no marinading.... but I now have.... 5 of them....

and 10 lbs chicken breasts, 3lbs chicken legs, 3 whole chickens, and.... 5 lbs ground beef. oh, and 1.5 lbs of chicken thighs.

I love stocking up. It makes it so easy to do things, plus it saves a ton of money.
We have publix's here, and they do awesome Bogo sales on dry goods too :)

I had mixed-grain rolls, little tomatoes and cheese, plus a cracker. And hot chocolate, and cut up nectarine. Last night was a wholemeal roll with garlic tofu and some chicken. My eating habits are slightly embarrassing, but I enjoy what I eat and I suppose that's what counts.

I rarely use my crock-pot anymore just because there's no space for it in my kitchen. I make my london broil either on the grill or in the broiler, so marinating is a must!

I shop at PathMark here and they do a lot of the bulk-packs for super-cheap, then they go Bogo every few weeks. Plus, I get a ton of those check-out coupons for dollars off the next purchase so I save BUNCHES when I shop!

I seriously just recently started doing this, and my grocery bill is 1/3 of what it used to be, and I buy so much more stuff. :D

it's so super awesome!!!

btw- i would die w/out my crock!!!!!!! And I so wish for a grill.

Lola i would love an idea for london broil in the crock pot if you would be so kind :)

how complicated? How fancy? I have lots of things I do, some have.... 5 ingredients and are really simple, some have way more ingredients and are a much more elaborate meal.

Peppermint tea and a banana. I've been sick as hell as weekend. Fucking IBS, bastard devil disease.

I wasn't hungry all day, so just had tons of lollipops, coffee, milk and the odd bite until late afternoon. Then I was suddenly starving, so 'dinner' was a massive stack of multigrain bread with lettuce and tomatoes, followed by some drinking yogurt on the train home and more lollipops. Mmm.

I don't know why I put my eating habits here when their eccentricity humiliates me. Maybe I'm just a masochist.

MorningStar Farms Buffolo Wings are the single greatest meatless meat alternative I've tried yet.

Seriously, I really doubt most people would notice that these aren't chicken. Usually meatless products leave some funky after taste or still taste a little off...but damn.

Only 200 calories in 5 of them. I ate 6 for dinner and since they are spicy I had like 3 glasses of water with them and was actually full. I love eating and usually 240 calories is not going to fill me up....but damn.

I suppose "but...damn" should be my catch phrase for these.
