Chips and queso. I get bonus points. I warmed up the queso in a coffee cup because all of our dishes are dirty and I'm on strike.
lol. I used to go on strike when I had three female roommates because I was the only one who ever cleaned. Is it working for you?

I'm such a lameass when boy is away.
I made another baby spinach salad tonight and bought a shrimp cocktail platter at the supermarket. I'm so sad I can't even eat it, though.

I made ratatouille in honor of Ratatouille at the Oscars (and it won, yay)! It was delicious! I put a thin layer of sauce in a casserole dish and layered it with tons of veggies and cheese, baked it and served it with couscous. Magnifique! And needtodance made lemon-poppyseed hamentaschen and they were delicious too! There was much feasting and rejoicing.

rambutan is freaky jungle fruit first introduced to me by my boyfriend's crazy hare krishna stepfather in los angeles. It was all I ate the whole time I was there pretty much... it's also called lychee fruit.

Made a pumpkin and ginger soup. Found the recipe in a caribbean cookbook. It turned out great. Had a vegetarian broccoli patty on the side... not so great.
Lindt milk chocolate with hazelnuts for dessert.

Rambutan and lychees look similar on the inside and taste similar, but are actually different fruits. Rambutan come in a spiky red and black casing, while lychee skin is a bumpy tan shell. The fruit itself in both cases is rounded, small and pearly-white (though rambutan are slightly bigger than lychees), with a delicate taste that's subtly different for each of the two fruits.
Both fruits are of Asian origin, I think.

Rambutan = Delicious.
I got addicted to rambutan in Hawaii and haven't been able to find a decent one since. You have to cut open the hard spiny outer part, and the fruit inside has the consistency of a very large peeled grape with lots of juice and a hard seed in the middle. The flavor is sweet and a little citrusy, sort of a tropical flavor like a kiwi. Best fruit ever!

I had a baked sweet potato with a mixture of fat free cottage cheese and goat cheese on top. Really healthy and high in protein. Got the idea from a women's bodybuilding magazine.

I don't know what I'm making tonight and we're having a friend over so there's pressure. I have some thick butterflied pork chops but only enough for 2. And I have ground sirloin, might think about making tacos. I have great stuff for sammiches (except I'd have to pop out and get bolillos and if I do that, I might as well get something for a REAL dinner). Out of my veggies, I have stuff for salad and broccoli for steaming, nothing inspirational. Ummmm. Shit.
At least we'll be drinking well, I made kickass smoothies with frozen blueberries, peaches, and fresh black/strawberries and grape juice to bind it together. And we'll also have sparkling grape juice. Oooh maybe I can combine the two and have fizzy smoothies!

I need an idea for tonight, something reall simple, and probably not steak (antibiotics and iron bad interaction). And I want it low carb because we had a croissant sammich, french fries, AND brushetta for lunch.
