^^OK that makes a little more sense.
How often do you dance away from home? Do you go through agencies?
I dont go through agencies for dancing. I just find somewhere I want to work, get hired and go.(or sometiomes, go THEN get hired...lol!)
For about a year I worked 2 weeks a month out of town because I was SO fucking fed up with the clubs around here that I couldnt take it. I'd take the 2 weeks at home off. But I'm just getting too old and broken to travel that much anymore. I probably dance out of town 5 or 6 times a year and work other jobs(like shooting) out of town a cpl more times a year.

See that sounds fun to me while I'm young, impulsive and have a car that can take a beating. :)

Oh I had a LOT of fun and I HIGHLY recommend it while you can. Esp if (like I did) you have a crazy friend or two to travel with you...cuts down on expenses, keeps you from getting bored while driving and whatnot and you'll be able to come up with WAY more crazy stories then you would alone!LOL!
Plus I cant stand working in the same place night after night week after week year after year...I need a change of scenery every now and then to shake things up or I get mortally bored.

Acute tendinitis of both knees. It was horrible.
How long were you out of work? How long did it take to heal?

I've gone in super bruised up before, and once I went in with a hacking cough (bad me lol). That's about it though... I was gonna work tonight but I hacked my vagina to shreds and it bled a lot and it hurts to touch it so I'm chillin here tonight.

I went to work after getting out of the ER for being struck by a van.
I've also worked with a sprained toe and a sprained wrist.
Oh and a shattered tooth.

eh, for the last 6 weeks my knee has been extremely painfull to touch. so, that probably wins. i can't do -any- catwalk/floor stuff and i can't let the customer touch anywhere near my knee or bump it during a dance.

I've done shows with a broken big toe, the flu, strep throat, after leaving the ER for IV antibiotics and fluids, and currently working with a fever of over 101 that hasn't gone away for a week due to a kidney infection that refuses to die.

I sprained my ankle in the middle of a shift once. Those stripper shoes always get me no matter how long I have danced! Well, I was a little tipsy and didn't notice how badly I had hurt it, so I kept dancing on it for probably 3 or 4 more hours. Yeah... bad idea.

I'd have to say, this recent fucking foot non-sense. Have you ever gone to work and had to change your bandage every hour cuz you didn't want to bleed into your shoes? It's not fun.
I wore my chucks for a while, but eventually they got pissy and wanted me back in my heels. To be fair though, they let me come in super late for cheap (roll in at 11, comp house fees or only charge me 20) and leave if I needed to.
Also, came in with hangover (puked on the way to work, fun), bronchitis, "dying" of cedar fever. OOooh, also after I got rear-ended by a van going 40mph while I was completely stopped. That was an interesting one.

Workedwith no voice , not even a whisper it pissed alot of customers off and i made like 90 bucks that night.
Worked with a YI, will never do that again.
my worst was a broken toe, ouchie in the heels.
Oh yes, cooked salmon while naked (oil splattered)and had spots ALL OVER my stomach that took 3-4 weeks to heal, it looked like bubbles, all these perfect circles of different sizes all over my stomach. What is weird is that no one ever mentioned it, maybe they thought birthmarks, idunno.

I won't go to work if I'm suffering in any way.. I did go to school once missing a whole front tooth (my dad made me) I never spoke the entire day, it was embarrassing.
