I like all styles and colors. Just wear it well, baby! ;)

As for body hair, shaved clean is 100% awesome. Hell, I manscape!!!!!

Fo once...I kind of agree with skywalker. I keep a patch. I shave it, and keep it neat, but I like that it looks natural. It always cracks me up when guys say "I like that you're totally natural and unshaven." LOL, there used to be three times as much, bud! I don't say that though, of course.

Maybe it's just that I live in the great northwest, but a more natural look seems to be popular around here. But then, guys also seem to like the idea of a "real girl" around here. So I think a little bush is appealing as it seems more girl next door than typical stripper. I've gotten tons of compliments about it, and only one negative comment.

One of the interesting aspects to this conversation is how most are appalled at the natural look (even trimmed). Clearly it's a current fad or trend to be shaved, and it's completely understandable why dancers in the here and now would do what the majority want, but the key point is, this was not always the case. I have stayed consistent in what I like. Society has changed. Look back at any vintage porn and you will see 99% of the women are unshaven, and we're not talking silent shorts, we're talking Marilyn Chambers, Linda Lovelace, Annette Haven, Ginger Lynn, you-name-them. The same went in stripclubs at the time. A shaved woman then would have been considered unusual, but I bet because of that would have attracted men who like women who are willing to be different from the crowd. There are many, many sites out there for men who like the natural look. ATK Natural and Hairy, FullBush, Hippie Goddess, etc. I may be in the minority, but it's a large minority. Someday the trend will go back, or perhaps the pendulum will go back to the middle, allowing women to do what they want with no repercussions or comments of "nasty", and the division will be half and half, so customers can have a choice rather than having the decision made for them.

I can honestly say that since I have been old enough to care about whether I was groomed or not (I am a seventies child) I have preferred to be clean shaven. As well as feeling nicer, it seems more hygienic and even as a teenager a hairy bush has never appealed. For this reason I wouldn't say it is a current trend or fad. As far as I am aware my friends would agree. I can remember girls getting picked on at school if pubes were poking out everywhere when getting changed for gym lessons or swimming. Each to their own. :-\

Expressing a preference is quite a few degrees away from being appalled. If you are appalled, you'd better stay home and watch vintage porn.

There have been comments such as "nasty" regarding pubic hair showing outside a thong, and other such comments. This is natural, and I would call that reaction being appalled.

NOTHING to do with stripclubs, but having to do with hair...

Survivor Amazon...the one Jenna Lewis won (after she and Heidi stripped for peanut butter and chocolate, as well as a Playboy spread), also starred a Colorado deaf lady, one Christy Smith. She started the show with hairy pits. The common reaction on the internet was "ewww" and "nasty". I thought it was cool, and vigorously defended her, and talked about how hot a natural woman was. After the show was over, I found her email online, and send her a message. We exchanged a few emails, and that was that. At one point she had danced after a challenge victory on the show, and I thought she might be a Deadhead. I could have asked her out based on our email exchange, but figured I was twice her age, so why bother. I even thought about inviting her to a Dead show at Red Rocks. Amazingly, I was at a Dead show a few weeks later, and there she was, signing away. (they sign the lyrics for deaf fans at Dead shows). I went up and introduced myself, and she gave me a long, huge hug. I was thrilled.

I have to bring a dancer in here, don't I, and one just happened to become an epilogue for this story. During an intermission, a beautiful blonde came and squeezed her ass into the tiny space next to me, and asked if she could stay. How could I say no? In any case, we're having this great discussion. She's telling me she's a dancer at Shotgun Willie's, and I'm talking away, both appreciative of her attention and confident the only reason she's there is that I'm in the third row center. I say, "I'm going to say something totally out of leftfield", and she looks at me as if she wanted either a big tip or perhaps some free stoned out action, and I proceed to tell her about just meeting Christy. She got PISSED, told me she knows people who are REAL survivors, not stupid people on a stupid show, and splits, saying, "I don't think I want to sit here anymore".

Yes, this all started due to hairy underarms. ;)

*Grows some and waits for mysterious things to happen* Not! Feh on anyone who'd go so far as to feel appalled at a neatly trimmed pussy. That's usually how mine is, with the sides taken off so it's not escaping my thong. As for pits & legs....well I love to shave.

uhm, the reason i have to disagree with your "fad" assumption is that as long as i have had a razor in my hand, which was around 4th or 5th grade, i have been shaving my cunt. mainly because they're thick and itch under panties (betcha never thought about that, you lucky boxer wearer you.) in my opinion, the nastiest thing to find on my shared bathroom floor is someone else's pubic hair, so in part i believe this to be common courtesy. also because something about the thickness of them reminds me of spider legs, and i'm arachnaphobic. i know this is insane but nobody taught me to feel this way, i just do. i was wayyyy to young to know anything about pornstars.

now i've been shaving so long that letting the hair grow back means ingrown hairs, irritation, annoyance, blah blah blah

when i was a hippie girl (ok i still am a hippie girl i just don't look like it anymore), i went a year without shaving my legs. only gay men noticed and were appalled. which was funny kind of. however, i could NOT survive without shaving my armpits, much like what i mentioned in the last paragraph i become itchy and irritated if i don't shave them for a few days. this is due to growing up including this as part of my person hygene routine. something to think about: you know why more men than women reek of body odor? they're not expected to shave their underarms. you're used to feeling that hair because you've always had it; many of our mothers trained us as soon as we began growing hair there to get rid of it (AND YES THIS WAS THE 80S FOR ME) and thus i could never readjust to the feeling of underarm hair.

ALL that said, my hair is SHORT short and blonde, kind of pixie-ish. it's a growing ex mohawk, haha. my manager calls it my "sharon stone look" but it's much more choppy than that honestly. there are definitely a lot of men who can't resist short hair, i've known this from before working clubs but actually people i haven't approached often request me because of my unique hairstyle. it works very well for me, even with men i see enjoying women with longer hair. like you said about the exoticism of rare pubic hair, my own haircut is often seen as exotic and therefore attracts men and women. (i had a girl tipping me like crazy tonight even though i only danced for her onstage because she loved my hair)

all the other girls at my club have very long hair except two with grown-out bobs. i rock the "unique" niche and it goes over great. at the same time i'm always encouraging people to try the look out themselves because (and i bet this is something you, as a male, never thought about either) long hair is SO MUCH MORE WORK to maintain. with short hair i can cut and dye it myself and still look great... with long hair i needed $140 hair appointments to keep me looking groomed.

I totally go for the different look. Great hair on the head can do wonders. I'm an, in this order: Ass Man, Eyes, and Hair (all aspects) per physical criteria. I appreciate all the answers on this thread. Lets keep talking hair, ok? :-)

Hippie girl? Well alright!

So following this logic, for guys who trim or shave, do they hate themselves too? http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/images/smilies/censor.gif

Omg what is up with that scissor smiley. That is awesome.

Reading over this thread again.....so Skywalker, are you just making conversation or are you actually obsessed by hair? Maybe it's just another late night, but does anyone else think this thread overall has a fetish tinge to it?

Also add, politically liberal, vegetarian, and Deadhead. Now you're talking. That combo would get me to spend the farm in the VIP.

oh for **** sake!! I am so over hearing this tired boring argument. How many times on SW does it have to be said that getting rid of pubes is a fad. It's not, many of us on here have posted numerous times that we don't like pubes, never have, never will. It's not about fashion it's about personal comfort and preference.
Mine will never grow back it's been lasered off GOOD RIDDANCE. I have been doing this since puberty not since being a dancer and not for fashion.
If i hear that one more time it's a fad i am going to scream.

The natural argument makes me equally as pissed off. Who cares what is natural? We are living in 2008 not the cave man era, people have the choices to look the way the want to look.

I couldn't care less what your personal preference is or what any man's preference is i do it for myself.

arggggggggghhhhhhhhhh.

I stay brunette because it suits me. Girls should wear whatever looks best on them. I like to wear big bombshell curls when I dance. It makes me feel dressy/glamorous/sassy, but after a long sweaty day it looks better on me than a straight style would. When I let my hair hang straight it gets flat/frizzy/frayed sooner or later. :-/

When I say "fad", I do NOT mean everyone who ascribes to it is a follower. I admire those who do what they do because they truly believe it. OVERALL, the trend toward naked privates is a fad. I am now an Obama delegate to my county convention. A month ago I was slamming him for not being progressive enough.

^:rotfl: What does Obama have to do with pubic hair? "Change is good"? I dunno.

I think you will find a lot of hippies strippers around with shaved hair. Give 'em a break. As old as this arguement is, I agree with you %100 Jaizaine about that....it's pretty much a job requirement these days.

(a) Dancers go to work to earn money - and within reason they'll follow the preferences that earn them the best income. If there were a reasonable 'market' for full bushes I'd expect to see more dancers sporting them.

(b) It's a dancer's privilege to look how she likes - it's their decision as to whether to shave or not. Some dancers have strong opinions on the subject (Hi Jaizaine) and they've clearly made their choice for personal reasons.

(c) When is someone going to drive a stake through the heart of this topic?

Phil.

I'm pretty much Larry David from "Curb Your Enthusiasm", minus the millions, in real life. I like to muse on topics in which controversy can arise. It's what makes life worth living.

Again, thanks for all the answers ladies. I don't see how one of the most important aspects of stripper appearance should be shut down due to the ramblings of one au natural lover (who completely realizes why it's not a profitable decision)

odor is natural too!

OMG that is funny!!

I only realized the other day due to customer comment's that I only had one girl with any pubic hair at all, all the other girl's were shaved slick. I personally think " women " should have a well trimmed patch above there goodies, but firmly concede to a stedfast " no hair in my eatins " policy. Sorry no cotton candy for me.

As for hair on the head, I love it short and straight not real short and only because I love giving scalp massages and I hate getting my finger's in there and feel like I'm knotting the hell out of there hair, kinda counter-productive IMO. I do love straight healthy shiny hair though, like the old breck comercials.

Personally, I think completely shaved pubic hair looks disgusting; it's not aesthetically pleasing and it leaves pretty much nothing to the imagination. It also looks infantalizing, so it just rubs me the wrong way. I used to shave it off so I could wear smaller g-strings without "flashing", but now I just shave the bikini area and the area around the lips for personal " visual accessibility" purposes. I don't have a racing stripe, either - I have a nice amount that's well-kept without becoming what's supposedly unruly.

I don't buy this "it's smoother" or "it feels better" bullshit because the smoothness only lasts for about 12 hours until the hair begins to resist it's oppression, then stubble emerges. I'd rather feel smooth, well-kept hair than grotesque stubble on my body. Unfortunately, the general public doesn't agree with me, so my body suffers with razor-burn in order to put bread on my table.

I had long, fire-engine red hair for years and it didn't affect my money; now it's back to it's natural dark color and I still make the same amount. The only difference I noticed is that the red hair definately attracted more of the BDSM fetishists and the submissive types.

My hair is also naturally curly, and either curly or straight I still get compliments on it. I personally dig the "wild" big-haired look, but it doesn't last very well after doing several dances, it tends to get tangled and matted down, so straight is considerably easier.

Btw, I also think armpit hair on a woman is one of the sexiest things ever.
