I picked 0, but it's more accurately some amount above 0 and below 1...like 0.2 or something. I'll have a shot if someone buys a round, stuff like that.

Don't lie Scarlett your a drunk when you work :P Your drunk right now!

When I started I used to get pretty freaking sloshed. That was also in NYC and the contact was outrageous....I don't entirely blame myself.

Here in NM there is a statewide ban on dancers drinking.....yep you heard right. REAL strict on it too. I'm really thankful for that, and can now say with %100 assuredness that if I were allowed, I'd only do it like on a weekend or random nights, and not as much as I used to....no point. Doing my best work now, sober, duh of course.

I voted 1-2, but sometimes I drink more depending on the night.

with certain people drinking is part of my game. theres a certain type of custy that will stay in the CR for hours if we're both drinking and having a drunk good time (or at least he thinks I'm drinking, cause often its really the champagne bucket that's doing most of the drinking) i never get drunk thou when i actually do drink, but i attribute it to the fact that i'm russian and therefore immune to alcohol except in MASSIVE quantities which would be near impossible to consume for the amt of liquid alone (yes its all true what they say..) the key IMO is to always be in control

I enjoy drinking, period, as I'm from Wisconsin.

(also, let me point out that Kaia and I both started dancing at a club where you HAD to sell 5 drinks a night or pay for them, although they could be alcoholic or not)

To me, I do best at work when I treat work like a party. Sorry if that's an unpopular opinion to have here, but I do. And no, I don't have to drink at work, as I danced sober from 18-21, then 21 for three months cause I was paranoid dancing in a strange city (Vegas), but now I figure why not have fun at work?

I definitely no my limits and don't get impaired or let guys molest me, so why not alter my mood for the best I say?

PS- Now that I am bartending I still have a couple drinks, maybe 3-4, on a shift. I guess I'm just naughty.

I work sober because..
I'm not 21, and up until a week ago I was working nude.

I've been drunk maybe once on the job, and I made 3x my norm.

When working as a shotgirl, I make commission off each shot that I sell. Sometimes guys just aren't interested in the sugary test tube shots. I usually get them to buy by telling them that I'll climb up onto their laps and do the whole show with the test tube, but then I'll take the shot for them. This hustle usually works for me, but it involves me drinking it for them. This doesn't happen too often though, and it'd be quite a stretch to say that one of those "sugar water" shots equals one alcoholic drink the way a glass of wine or a bourbon-and-coke would be.

Luckily though, I usually take mass transit to work, so I don't have to worry about DUIs.

On nights where customers don't buy me shots, I simply don't drink them. I don't think I've EVER bought myself a drink in the recent years that I've worked at clubs and bars.

Yeah, awesome, VS! :) I wish I could handle working in an alcohol club and not drinking at all, but alas, I cannot. I can't say "no" to a shot if someone offers me one. That's why I'm working in a juice bar right now. Hopefully someday I'll be able to work in an alcohol club and either not drink at all or control my drinking, but I'm not ready to right now.

Susan-Va, what you said about when you drank, you'd get mad about something like the club being out of nachos, and then you'd pack your stuff and walk out, that sounds exactly like something I would do! I have packed up my shit and left in the middle of my shift due to being pissed off about something when I was drunk-the shitty thing is I'd usually be making decent money up until that point. Ugh, stupid me. :banghead:

Sounds like us Wisconsin girls like to drink. ;D Seriously, its really rare here if a dancer over 21 is not drinking at work. Hell, even the underage girls will drink at work depending on the club-some clubs here don't care. When I was dancing at alcohol clubs, I always had 5 or more drinks at work-it got to the point where 5 drinks wouldn't even give me a buzz because my tolerance got so high.

Kaiarose, I feel the same way as you do about feeling like you dance better on stage after you've had a couple drinks. I always felt uncoordinated and awkward if I was the first girl on stage and had to do my set completely sober. I always felt like I danced better with a buzz. It didn't help my confidence any when one girl said to me a couple years ago that I didn't know how to dance and that I had no rhythm. But on the other hand, at the non-alcohol bar I dance at right now, on my first day after my stage set, one of the girls in the dressing room said to me, "You've been doing this for a while, haven't you?" so maybe I don't look as bad on stage as I think. Either that or she was trying to say I look old, who knows. ;D

I am more like 1-3. When I work in smaller clubs, I carry a small cooler w. me that has about three bottles of water in it. I can nurse a drink forever that way: I would drink my alcohol drink on the floor and water in the DR.

In larger clubs, it's difficult to stick with my routine, especially when busy. I just try to gulp a bunch of water to off-set alcohol whenever I get the chance.

So smaller clubs 0-2 in larger clubs, 1-3.

I usually drink with custies, but I try not to get drunk.. I definitely do better when I'm NOT drunk.. I'm really gonna try to cut down on drinking at work, it does not make my body happy...

It's kind of crept up on me. My first year, I really didn't drink at all, and customer rarely bought girls drinks at that club, so it wasn't an issue. I never buy drinks for myself, so only drink them if someone else wants to buy me one.

With my current club, and current hustle, when a customer offers me a drink it's almost like sealing the deal. Customers don't generally offer a drink to a girl they aren't pretty interested in, so if he does, it's almost a sure thing that we'll be doing several dances and/or a CR together. Once I have the drink I nurse it for a while. I usually have 1-2 drinks per well-paying customer (more if there's a champagne bottle involved) and I'll have 2-4 of those customers a night. That can add up to a lot of drinks, but it's spaced out over enough time that I almost never feel drunk.

Actually, I barely even feel buzzed anymore, which somehow doesn't seem like a good sign. I think drinking might make me tired and lose focus, but I don't even notice it enough to attribute it to the alcohol. When I go back to dancing next month, I might try staying off the sauce for a while and see if it helps my hustle.

None, but at least 4 waters and 2 Red Bulls at the most.
Same here...only I like my Red Bull with cranberry juice to blend in with the bar scene ;D

None - I usually tell customers that, "I have a strict no-getting-drunk-on-six-inch-heels policy *giggle*", if I get the feeling that I won't make any money off someone unless he buys me a drink (which is rare, usually they like the 'policy' line) or if I'm in the champagne room, I'll let it sit or take one sip, and then take it with me into the dressing room and give it away.
