And I gave you the URL to a product that will do it better than any of the crappy products you listed and will be better for you, and tastes great, and you ignored it so far. Others gave good brands also, eg. MuscleMilk, etc...The homemade recipe I posted is also very good and will work well, but you are fixated on junk that is mostly sugar and water and appear to keep waiting for somoen to say it's OK. Eat what ever you want.

oh im sorry i didnt realize i had to personally thank you for your information ::) . did you miss the part where i said i havent touched the ones i bought since i started this thread? im not waiting for anyone to say its ok at all.. just dont tell me that drinking chocolate milk would be the same, because in terms of filling me up, it is NOT the same at all.

not to mention, 15 grams of fat is going to make me gain weight. i dont eat 15 grams of fat at breakfast so adding that to my diet would not be beneficial to me.

Actually, it is the the same, but you clearly know more than I do about the topic, so I give up. Sorry to have wasted your time with all that helpful info. You don't have to thank me for shit. Good luck.

The Boost Drinks:

Vanilla:
Water, corn syrup solids, sugar, milk protein concentrate, canola oil, high oleic sunflower oil, corn oil, and less than 1%: soy lecithin, carrageenan, salt, artificial flavor, vitamins (vitamin A palmitate, beta carotene, sodium ascorbate, vitamin D3, vitamin E acetate, thiamin hydrochloride, riboflavin, niacinamide, vitamin B6 hydrochloride, folic acid, choline bitartrate, vitamin B12, biotin, calcium pantothenate, vitamin K1) and minerals (calcium carbonate, ferrous sulfate, potassium iodide, magnesium phosphate, zinc sulfate, cupric sulfate, potassium citrate, potassium chloride, sodium selenite, chromic chloride, sodium molybdate, manganese sulfate).

In addition to the above ingredients to Boost Drink: Chocolate–, Chocolate Mocha– and Chocolate Malt flavored liquids contain cocoa processed with alkali. Chocolate Malt Boost Drink also contains gluten. Butter Pecan also contains natural and artificial flavor which contains pecan extract and hydrolyzed soy protein. Strawberry–flavored liquid contains Red 3.

Umm the link that kind of gives a run down on it(the best I could find). My dietitian recommended it to me a few years ago when I was having a hard time fitting time to eat breakfast into my schedule.

Does anyone actually know that the ingredients are listed from highest amounts to lowest amounts?

"Water, corn syrup solids, sugar, milk protein concentrate, canola oil, high oleic sunflower oil, corn oil, and less than 1%: ...."

Corn syrup is second, then sugar. Amongst other these ingredients make people gain weight. They don't help with maintaining weight either.

Honestly, out of the slim fast drinks the high protein or low carb one would be the most beneficial to people with all types of goals.

Yes, from highest to lowest is how you read the labels, at least in the US. However, you can't tell what % they make up in the formula from the ingredients label. For that, you have to look at other parts of the label, or they may not supply actually amounts. In this case you can, because the amount of sugar and protein is listed in the nutrition section of the label, so you can figure out what % each makes if you want. However, if the ingredient list was say sugar, protien, and saflower oil, it could be 99% sugar, and .5 % protein and .5% saflower oil in theory.

IMHO, if slim fast fills you up, and you're just drinking it for breakfast on the go, and not chugging one three times a day, it's fine. It may have some crap in it, but its better than nothing, or something healthier that you wont eat cause it tastes nasty.

I used to do the same thing you're doing, and I did fine on it.

One other option...light yogurt smoothies. Not quite as filling, but pretty good and not too bad for you.

I have drinking yogurt, kefir or buttermilk in the mornings. All three are thicker than milk and have yogurt cultures. They're also cheaper than meal replacement drinks, and high in calcium, with a good whack of protein too and not too much sugar. Maybe you could experiment with these and see if they are filling enough for you? You could also grab a piece of fruit or a bread roll and cheese on your way out the door if you're hungry.

I'm also of the view that the Slim-Fast isn't too awful if you're having proper meals at other times. No-one is 100% perfect and it's better than having McDonalds, or nothing at all.

I just started using SlimFast again, and just had to say.... Strawberries & Cream and French Vanilla are CRAP. For now on, I'm sticking w/the chocolate ones (those are delish!) and maybe the Cappuccino Delight. I don't know what I was thinking. I swear, they used to taste ok. It has been awhile since I've had one of those now, yucky, flavors. Anyways, that is all.

Man this thread leads me to think, why ask if you're not going to take advice.
I think we have pretty much determined that Slim Fast is NOT any good for you.
If you want to justify why you drink it, this thread is pointless.

Also, why does no ever take Will's advice and seem to get all asshurt when he gives it? He knows his shit better than any person I've seen on this forum in regards to dietary health. Any nutritionist or trainer would tell you the same thing: Stop drinking that shit and make your own or tell you what is better and already pre-made.
