Trust me, I am all about getting tipped, but I'm not gonna be begging any guy for his ones. Just because he's at the stage doesn't mean that he's going to be tipping every girl. Maybe I'm not his type....there are always plenty of other guys around who I can make money from onstage.
That depends on the stage. If it's a club with a tip-rail (chairs specifically for the stage), they have to tip or get off the rail, because it's rude, and on a busy night they're taking up space that could hold a tipper.
I watch girls do the most obnoxious shit on stage for a dollar and it makes me cringe.
It really is degrading to watch that. Really, you're going to do all that...for a dollar? Christ.
If I've seen them just sitting there clutching the money I'd just go right up, eyes wide and a sweet smile in place and say "Aww! Is that for me?".
Those that try to make you do something demeaning for it get a pitying smile and a patronising pat on the cheek and "You hang on to that. It clearly means more to you than it does to me."
I've done that a few times. It makes them mad, but makes other people tip more. When I worked at a tip-rail place, I would kick their rolling chairs away from my stage if they say/do something obnixious (like refuse to tip, or tell me to work for it).
Now I work in a non-stage heavy club, so I don't expect tips, but I also don't get people telling me to do shit for a dollar.
There is another chick who gets crazy on the pole, I mean like some serious acrobatics and shit. Maybe she just enjoys being on the pole, which in that case more power to her....but no one even watches or tips.
That's weird. I always made tons of money off of pole tricks. Are guys only interested in the gynecology exhibit-type stage shows?
If a guy has the money in his hand I use some of the lines given. But if the money is just sitting on the rail I sweep it towards me with my hand while my boobs are in his face. It's a little presumptuous but I've never had anyone get mad about it.
I take the money first and then do a little dance. That way if they don't want to part with the money I won't have given them a free show.

maybe they are doing this because they are angry and bitter at strippers for calling them "suckers"?
honestly ive met some really angry cheap men at the clubs who refuse to tip or get dances because they say dancers only think of them as "suckers" so please stop calling them that or you are just bound to create more cheap bitter angry men.
and personally if a guy is holding out a dollar i dont try to get it from him right away, i just do my normal dance, stay a good distance from him, and expect that he will place it down by the end of my set. if he doesnt i give him a little talk after my set is over or look at the dj and the dj will tell him that it is required to tip if you are sitting on the stage.

I don't know about you guys, but it is annoying as HELL when a guy comes up to me on stage and I do my little dance number for him while he's holding out his measly little folded up dollar bill, and I go to pull my garter out only for him to continue to stand there with his mouth gaping open, clutching that damn dollar for dear fucking life! I'm not gonna do a whole LD for you on stage, dickbag, gimme the money so I can move the fuck on to the next guy. >:(
In the past, I've actually lost guys that were waiting for me at the stage because of morons like this. I've learned my lesson since then... but the last night I worked, I literally had to pull my garter out at least 3 times before the guy got the fucking hint that his time was up. I even had to yell at him to put. the. dollar. in. the. garter. :O You know what usually happens afterwards. These asses get mad at you as they walk away, making you look like a 'prude' on stage, thus, probably turning off other potential guys that want to come up and tip. ::)
Okay. Rant over.
I guess what I'm trying to get at is how do you ladies deal with this? Also, my club/town is high contact so it's kind of expected to give them a little bit of extra attention on stage, which sucks... when all I want to do is collect as much money as I can before my set is over. I'm trying to maximize my stage dollars. I wanna know... what are YOUR secrets for milking as much out of them as you can while you're on stage?
I bet this lady-friend of mine will agree 100% with you on the fact that it is lame for customers to try to play you with a measley $1 bill on stage. She got tired of that so when she does her round on the rail after the dance, if the bill is not out and ready to be handed to her, she will just bypass that guy. THat rather embarasses those cheapos who try to be slick and she does not miss on the ones that came up to specifically tip her. The cheapos think that she is a snob (wich she's not) and stay away, wich is also a goood way to filter the lame customers. You should give this approach a shot.

Actually, that sounds pretty good, and I think I may try this approach. And since this isn't the ladies only forum, you can post in here, especially since you offered your friend's experience from such a positive point of view.

So true! These guys are our bread and butter. There are customers out there that are rubbish, but not all of them and I'm against generalising them as 'johns', 'suckers', etc. Your view affects how you are when you work with them and ultimately, it is rude.
Not a lot of clubs in the UK do stage-side tipping, but because I can put on a good show, I do find I get tips from time to time. Also because the lowest denomination in notes is a £5 (whatever happened to the £1 notes?) I am appreciative and show that to the guy. I will dance in front of him and maybe wrap a leg around his neck. But at the end of my set, I will always thank him and ask him if he'd like a LD. I think that goes a long way.

In terms of dealing with the "what are ya gonna do for this dollar? guys - I like to just look them dead in the eye, raise my eyebrow and say "why? what do YOU normally do for a dollar?"... it usually confuses them and they tip up, and if others hear me, they get a laugh out of it too.

Best tactic I have seen so far and my personal favorite: Guy biting a bent dollar and dancer taking it with her boobies.
The rest of the guys, wanting their own performance, will watch this and be ready even before you get to them. Just ask the first guy at the corner of the stage to bite a dollar.

When they have money in their mouth, I always say, "Now didn't your mommy teach you not to put money in your mouth"
This elicits two responses of which I know whether or not to follow up with closing a lapdance sale from the tip rail:
If he takes it out of his mouth and places it in my hand or gstring like a gentlemen, then I know I can sell him a dance right then and there, "Now, you're ready for a private dance when Im finished up here, aren't you?"
If he shakes his head "no" or continues to expect me to fake "kiss" him by taking the money in my mouth from his mouth, I usually just reach out and take it from his teeth with my hand. I don't usually dont upsell this type of client at that point because he is not exactly my target demographic.
Some clubs just have a better set up for tipping. When I worked at Christie's in Phoenix, I rarely got tipped onstage bc the stage was too high and their eye level was at my shoe. At Treasures in Vegas the main stage is like this also, and I don't get as many tips there as I do at the center stage where the customer's eye level is at my crotch and the rail is padded so i can lean in closer and more comfortably.

That's an awesome system.
When someone really annoys me, I take the dollar from their mouth and say "You know money has traces of fecal matter and coke? Well, now you do! Knowledge is awesome!" or something along those lines. It generally makes other customers crack up and tip more:D
