I'm 5'4", medium frame, and my happy weight is 128. Sounds about right. Any less than that and I'd have to exercise obsessively and never allow myself any treats, and life's too damn short for that. I weigh around 143 right now and I actually think I don't look too bad right now-I'd just like to be a bit more toned. I definitely don't want to start drama or anything, but it kind of bothers me when girls on here who are much thinner than me talk about how fat they are-if they're fat, I must be a heifer. :(

I know what you mean- when I was bigger, my housemate had a very slender girlfriend who complained all the time about her 'fat'. I always suspected that she must have thought of me as morbidly obese, despite her denials. Now that I've shed my excess body fat I'm careful not to complain about my perceived figure flaws to girls who are bigger than I am, because I worry that they might feel as insulted as I did. The truth is that I'm nowhere near as judgemental about other women's bodies as I am about my own- which is exactly what my housemate's then-girlfriend used to say- but that's very hard to believe from the other end, and I understand that too.

The other thing is, it's possible that weight alone, in your case, doesn't indicate your degree of fatness- you may have a lot of muscle and dense bones, making your scale weight relatively high but your percentage of body fat (and measurements) smaller than girls who weigh in lighter than you do and yet complain about their bodies. You may, in truth, be thinner than they are. Scales alone don't tell the whole story. You often need to see the people in question to make any kind of meaningful comparison.

I'm having samosas too! And tandoori chicken, spicy lentils, garlic nan and lamb kabob with a chocolate cake w/ light cream center for dessert;D

...ok back on subject.

Those damn scales! I haven't owned one since 2001 and only weigh myself at the doctor's.

I did the calculator. My 'happy' weight is around 124.5. According to my clothing size and last weigh in, I'm well below that.

So, I guess I am at my happy weight. I pay more attention to tone and definition than I do a stupid scale. Oh yeah, and how my jeans fit.

mine is 139 (5'7 med. frame-36-26-36), but I look fat at that weight.... I'm around 130 now, IMO I look best at 120, but I have to starve myself to get there, it's not natural. My set point is 130.

It said mine was 137. I'm 117 right now and still don't look or feel thin! I feel exactly the same as when I weighed 162 last year. (ew. not cute on me.) I don't think I have a happy weight. My flab just rearranges and I have hips that go on foreverrrr. And not in the sexy booty kind of way!

Waaaaa. My happy weight is 123, and I'm like 133 right now. Sigh. I need to go throw out the chocolate I got for Valentine's day now. :'(

Don't throw it out! Just save it and have one little piece every day or so as a treat.

It said my ideal weight was between 113-153. That's a pretty big range. Ranginging from anorexic to obese. 113? I haven't seen that since I was 12. 153? I saw that when I was on Depo and known as the thick girl. And that was then putting it nicely. I was a size 12.

OMG A SIZE 12, HOLY SHIT, HUGE!

I'm 5'2" and according to that calculator my happy weight is 113.2 and my ideal weight is 101-136. I am probably 130 lbs right now. I would totally be 100% happy with 113!

Meh, it said my happy weight was 113. Lysondra, if I recall we have pretty much the same proportions and weight currently, why did it tell you to aim for 107 I wonder? :/

I'm fine with aiming for 113 or so, I don't feel fat at all, and that isn't a hard goal to get to I don't feel. The lightest I ever was as a teen was 115 I believe, but that was me doing just cardio and eating almost nothing like a moron.

I look better now at 122 than I did at 115 then, I think at 113 I'd look fucking lean but in my head I imagine myself being sexy and muscular looking at that weight, hehe.

It said my happy weight is 134, which is where I'm at right now. I prefer to be under 130, but I don't freak out over a few pounds.

I just went back to my old club where we go on stage a lot more and get more exercise, so I'm hoping I'll get back down in the next few months. But I don't diet. I just eat sensibly and try to get exercise.

Mine came out at 122 lbs.

I almost never weigh myself either, but I do know that months ago when I was pretty depressed (and the anti-depressants I was on killed my appetite too) a few people asked me if I dropped below 100. I'm 5'4" with a small frame. I weighed myself and came in at 107.

When I've been at about 125 I tend to get moon-faced.

I have to agree that the scale doesn't always count for much. I know a lot of that weight that I lost was muscle, because I became very lethargic and sedentary.

In the last couple of months I've been more active, eating more and better food and I don't doubt I've gained a few pounds, which is fine by me. My favorite jeans still fit great though. ;D

My happy weight came up to be 159.5...( I am 5'10)

I think it all depends on your frame.

As Yek said, at 5'1" she looks too skinny at 115. at 5'2" and my current weight of (stupid bartending making me fat) about 120, I do NOT look skinny AT ALL.....My "ideal" weight is probably about 110 but I prefer to weigh 105 because I dig the skinny look for myself....but I have a small frame.

My grandma, on the other hand, is my height and 130 and looks skinny as all shit, but she is INCREDIBLY big boned.

I think your happy weight, really is the weight at which you look good but don't have to struggle all that much to maintain. That for me is probably about 112, but I dont like how that looks on me. Make sense?

*According to Self tho my happy weight is 114 which IMHO is too much*

That article was in Glamour recently! At first I thought it was a great idea, but then again, it's just another means of causing obsession about your weight. Maybe how much you weigh isn't the most important thing in life.. unless of course it's causing you health problems..

According to Self, I'm at my happy weight. And I pretty much agree.

5' 6.5"
medium frame
2 months short of 44 years old

puts me at 144.5 lbs.

Awww, baby, don't do that! There is no way for this tool to be able to determine shit about you! Its just a dynamic database that has a few options.

I'm mildly amused by this. My ideal weight range is between 92 and 123 lbs (I'm about 4'11"). My "happy weight" is supposed to be 103.5 lbs. No way in HELL do I look good at that weight. At 100 lbs, I start to get the bloated cheeks look. While I'm sure the calculator might work better for others, it only serves to prove that we should stop living by the scale.

I agree!

It says my "happy weight" is around 131, BULLSHIT!!!!!!!

I am 121 right now and I still have a few things to work on, lol.

If I got back up to that weight, I would be a cow, lol.

Yeah, yeah. Rub it in.

I'm having coffee and a samosa for dinner to try and reach mine. Pfft.

Eh if my dinner was only that yummy, lol!

Another boring bottle of water, and a fresh baby spinach tuna sandwich with kimchee on low fat whole cracked wheat toast, lol.

Then in a few hours I get a protein shake, yummy! ::)

I'm 5'3 w/a small frame, my "happy weight" is about 118. Woah, I'm like 145 right now.
Oh well, whatever I'm not dancing anymore! For now at least.

It reckons my happy weight is 159lb (72 kg) If I get below 165lb (75kg) the doctors will get nasty again.

Im happy being around 80kg (175lb?) especially if Im working out, and athletic.

Honestly I dont care about the scales, if I LOOK good and feel ok.

The thinnest i've ever been as an adult was 142 and my boobs looked gross.
I felt uber sexy around 150, i still had curves and wore a size 8-10. Thats when i started dancing.
I've never been skinny, in fact i've been fat most of my life.
After this baby my goal is to be 130 and get awesome fake boobies.
I never want to be fat again, I never knew how good i could feel until i lost that weight before i got pregnant. I will do anything it takes to feel that good again and love every inch of myself in the mirror!
My happy weight according to the chart is 138

It says my "happy weight" should be 133... that would be high for me, I'm usually about 118-120. I think the calculator is a little off on the weights for us smaller people :-\

02-16-2008, 10:09 AM
Bwahahahah. Yea right 142?! Youve got to be kidding me. I cant get over 123 if I tried. Well, maybe if I eat McDonalds for breakfast lunch and dinner for a month. Im 117.5 and it works for me. I eat healthy but I eat what I want. Ill probably add a few lbs of muscle when I get back to working out.

Oh, I like when i put that I have no children it drops 5 lbs.

02-16-2008, 10:37 AM
Wow. According to that my "happy weight" is 119 lbs. F that! I got up to 113 over the holidays, eating a ton and not making it to the gym..I felt disgusting, wasn't fitting in my clothes right, felt cheesy at work. Now I'm back down to 106..but I'm still hoping to lose a couple more..103/104 that's me nice and tight.

MixedBabe88
02-16-2008, 12:08 PM
150.1 which is probably too skinny for me. I'm big boned and tall, and even at 190 I look fairly "average" sized. My goal is 175, to 165. My smalled boned, tall, skinny friend weighs 150 and she's thin, I'd look like a skeleton!

I really can tell the diffence by looking at the pics.
I am 158 right now, but I am a smaller dress size ( 7 and I have to steal my sister jeans because mine is falling of my ass!) the last time I was a size 7 I was 142lb. I think this test doesn't account for alot of factors. Girls, if the scale says one thing, but you can fit into your skinny jeans, then who cares what the scale says. If you want work towards a goal then it is all good baby. I know that I was super happy at begining of this post, Then I got all freaked out. I have come to the conclusion that I am happy . If I loose a little bit more, ok. Now i am happy.

it said my happy weight is around 120, which is around where i think i look the best. 5'4" and small boned.

i think people might have used the wrong bone structure sizes if their answers are so dramatically different from what they think they should be. maybe.

It says my happy weight is 110.6 pounds. I don't think so.... I took a break from dancing for a few years and am now 31 years old.. 5'1" with a very small frame and 103 pounds. Even when I wasn't dancing, I'm a very energetic person with a very high metabolism.

My bone structure is so small... that I have to wear child-size glasses. I fit into ladies' size 5 shoe or kids' size 3. LOL

it said 137.

I'm 5,6" medium frame. im 120 lbs, dress size 3--im not fuckin happy about it. ive lost so much weight and cant seem to gain it back.

I looked best (businesswise) when I was size 7, 135 lbs. I personally thought i was hot when i was a size 9-- i looked like a woman!

Body weight means fuck all, it doesn't take into consideration body composition and is just a gross measure of mass.

My "happy weight" is what ever weight I can walk around able to Bench 180kg, squat 220kg, C+J 160kg and snatch 140kg whilst having a decent amount of muscle mass and abs.

YES!!! I agree totally!

Theres no way I could be skinny and still muscly. And Id rather be heavier and fit than thin and barely able to lift a shopping bag.

I got 118.9. I don't think I weighed that much when I looked chubby. I'm going to second the fact that being pale makes me look squishier so I can't have a higher weight. I'm about 108 now.

Im 5'10" and this says my ideal weight is 129-174, which is about right for what Ive heard...
basically, a broad ass scale of anything and anything is my ideal weight :D

And it lists my happy weight at 160. I dont freaking think so!!!!!

When muscular, I looked and felt my best at 145-150,
and when I wasnt muscular, the weight I felt good at was 135-140.

I look not at all different at 160 than I do at my current weight of 176.
And I'll tell you what...I do not look anywhere near ideal at 176. Blah.

ETA I put thought into what you said Santuary, and changed my body frame from medium to small...
And it gave me a happy weight of 153. Okay, thats a bit more like it....

So...you mean Im not big bone-ded?! :D
Possibly true though, maybe I just feel huge cause I dont like the weight Im at.
But come to think of it, when Im at a decent weight, I look really slender so...I guess so.

It's not working for me for some reason, but whatever. I looked my best at 104/105, so I need to lose about 25 pounds and I'm 5 feet.

25 pounds doesn't seem like a lot of weight but it's a huge difference for someone who is short. All of my old jeans are 00's-2's. I'm determined to fit into them again. I will if it kills me (not literally).

Also, how do I know if I'm small/medium/large boned, lol ... I never understood it.

my happy weight would be 100 and i'm 125. I'm 5'5 and I have really weird bone structure. Like tiny wrists but huge hips so when I go to nutritionsit they still tel i'm small frame which makes no sense because it's not till i'm bellow 120 that i start looking slim.

Yeah. 110 isn't a bad look on me. Thicker than I'd like... but isn't "happy weight" supposed to be, like, a weight where you can be satisfied and still live comfortably/not be super strict about size, ect?
