Can I do it?Well, I've been using 1yr membership or 500+ post count, so you would just make it. If several people aren't comfy letting lower post count, but older members participate, we will change it to suit the majority. I'm gonna wait for some more replies, update the list and PM the link when I get home from work tonight.
Mast, your suggestions were taken. Only thing I don't like is making a strict $ limit, because honestly I don't see how that can be enforced. But the rest was taken and modified to keep it fun and light ;D
1. Try to keep somewhat close to the $30 suggestion. If you must buy extravagant gifts, do it for everyone :P
2. If you want to gift additional people, keep that to PMs.
3. If you are having problems with shipping or something, check in with the organizer so we can help.
4. Make absolutely sure you are going to send your gift BEFORE you sign up, sign up deadline is March 1.

We're on the same page. I was saying to keep it AROUND $30.00. And I too agree that if you're gonna drop a 500.00 gift on yours, do it for every girl. (not like y'all don't deserve it :D )
I just wanted to make sure my suggestions came off as suggestions, not Demands
So.... Green Duffel Bag of Money? or 18 Year Old Slave? What's the preference? (yea. I remember)

Gifting date is April 1. Ship early enough for packages to arrive by that date.

I don't think vouching really works. I knew my own secret Valetine IRL and personally and I still go shafted. Hope it works this time!! I know I trust Aubreyyy but I can't vouch for her personally, but I do trust her. P:
Awwww thank you :) :lovestruc

I :heartbeat these little exchanges. It's so much fun and I'm really glad new people are interested.
It's very difficult to be the person to decide where to draw the line about who gets to participate but I think setting a limit and then accepting people's "vouches" is good. And of course if anyone is uncomfortable for any reason, it is up to them to let you know. Elfster makes it easy to prevent someone from getting someone else, if need be.
Very good rules so far, the hard part is making sure people comply.
AND make sure everyone WRITES DOWN THEIR PERSON'S ADDRESS. I'm still having to ask Valentine's for their addresses.
B, if you need any help, just let me know.:P

I can do international.
I'm just planning on having them ship to my club's address as long as the bossman says okay.
this is muy selfish, but if we sign up for more than one person do you we get more than one person assigned to us? (I like presents :)

...wait, have you been reading my file? :O
No, no, the problem is with me.
Kat wrote "Sic semper tyrannis" on my forehead last night in bright red magic marker while Bridgette and Scarlett held me down.
Wow, I just got the visual on that. Cool. :)
Anyway, it's a joke. Second, I definitely deserved it. And third, well, I love all three of them.
God, who wouldn't after that visual?

So when are we drawing names?

B, I think you're doing a fantastic job so far, I really like the rules, I think they'll help.
Everyone of curse should only sign up if their sure they can follow through. But that said, shit happens, so if for some reason after you sign up you become unable to follow through, please PM B, so she'll know, and so the person you're supposed to send something to can be picked up by a volunteer.
I think if someone does that, they shouldn't be outed, but they should not participate in the next exchange. We all understand that emergencies come up, and no one will be mad, as long as you accept responsibility and act like and adult.

I think it'll probably be march 2nd, since the 1st is the signup deadline.

it depends on their bunny bits I supose, and their preference. I'm not really a toy kinda gal myself. I prefer real live man flesh to a toy. Fingers and mouths will do as well, but they're more of a warm up, the pole dancing is the main event!

I can't decide whether I want to do this one or not...I liked the v-day exchange. But the next few months are a little busy with travel and I'm going to be spending too much $$ on my girl's birthday party. I think I'll have to catch the next exchange :( I luv spring stuff though, bunnies and cute stuff like that - it'll be fun to see how it goes.
And what's up? When did Rhiannon come back!

I'd like to be in on this one as well :)
I loved hunting for my Valentine's present for her.. it opened up my eyes to what is really out there locally :) and it only cost me $50 all up in the end (the postage cost is what made me go over the $30 limit).
It's a shame I didn't get something with the V Day exchange however ultimately I loved participating and loved how my Valentine loved her gift :)
Also, I tend to list my PO Box as my address.. if that is a problem, please do find out up-front and ask me if I can tell you a 'home' address.
so i'm okay to be in on this one as well as post internationally.

Everyone's suggestions have been taken so far. I've read every post and taken into account what's been said. I'm waiting to hear from more people on the post count/ length of membership issue, so responses are appreciated!
I think that a combination of post count and membership length would work best. Frankly, I'm not comfortable with even a long time member with a really low post count, reason being that we just don't 'know' them well enough. It would almost make sense to put them in their own little exchange pool and ensure that everyone with a low count or a newer member draws each other to sort of test out their integrity (no offense to newbies or low posters.) That leaves the "major players" who are trustworthy to exchange with each other.
Another thing would be that I wouldn't be comfortable having a newer member or someone with a low post count having my address and personal information, again because we just don't 'know' them well enough. Probably sound bitchy here, but it's like, "Dude, who the hell ARE you anyway?"
Forgive my paranoia and I'm probably coming off sort of cold, but I want solid rules set out before I decide if I'm in or not.

Oh btw if you do ship international.. please do allow a good fortnight (14 BUSINESS days) for your gift to arrive.. it's okay if it arrives before or shortly after.. just make sure it arrives within a week. If you are shipping to Australia, do not ship Australia Air
Plus to shave the hoo haa from last time.. if your gift does arrive early.. keep it to yourself til the day of and/or after the exchange date :) and do include photos ;D :P

I really don't understand why people aren't "comfortable" with members with a low post count. Did you not just read Darcy's post. That is just not nice. I don't start threads or say things friviously, but that doesn't mean I don't want to brighten someones day with a secret bunnies gift. I think we should welcome new members as well.

I tend not to be suspicious of people on the internet. I know we can never really know, but well, I'm on the internet and I'm not a crazy loon - there are so many people online these days, we're mostly just a bunch of normal people.
That said, we never really can know, so I can understand not wanting a relative stranger to have your address. For this reason, I encourage everyone who participates to use a PO box or other mailbox service, or have packages sent to your club, friend's house, something.
I think if we all use discretion with our addresses, we can all rest assured no weirdo is gonna show up at our doorsteps because of this.
It seems most people are cool with letting long time, low post count members participate, so I'll go ahead with that. However, if you've been a member less than a year AND your post count is under 500, we'll need someone more established to vouch for you.
I have a list of everyone who's expressed interest and who's membership status qualifies, so I'll send out the PMs with the link shortly. I just got in from work a little while ago! It's almost 8am here ugh.
As for the public outing, I wouldn't want to out anyone who does the responsible thing and PMs me ahead of time so we can find a volunteer to replace you, but I totally vote for outing anyone who completely flakes without saying anything. We're adults here so we should act like it, and if not I think you can take the outing. Call me harsh. However if the majority thinks that's wrong I'll go with the group on that. Maybe I am a lil harsh :P
I think if you're mailing international you should mail a couple weeks out, if not 3. Sometimes stuff gets caught up in customs and such.
Mailing to Australia: If we mail using USPS Global Priority, doesn't the stuff arrive in a week or two? That's what they tell us here, and that's been my experience in the past.
Off to send PMs!

I dunno, I'm not all that worried about the address thing, they'll have to kill me before I let them rob or hurt me, lol. But I understand how the dancers, in particular, should exercise caution.

B, just a question...
I didn't put my real name on Elfster--instead I used my SW name. After the drawing, do you think I should change it to reflect my real name so the Secret Bunny will get it along with my addy? Never done this type of thing before, and just didn't want my real full name posted up there. If you (or anyone else) can answer that for me, let me know :)
A lot of people have my name and addy from here, but it's just a weird thing I have about throwing it up on a website for all to see.
Thanks!

why would people not use their sw name?
and i really, really dont think its fair for someone to request a recipient like djoser asked on the elfster site. whts the point, then?

02-23-2008, 09:24 AM
I'm not worried about my addy. My address has absolutely zero to do with the location of my unit. So yea, unless someone really wants to stalk me...
I'm really excited! I had to miss V-Day one (my birthday, our anniversary and V-Day itself happening all within 3 weeks of each other sort of put a damper on our finances), but I had a ton of fun with the Santa one.
Yay for presents!!

and i agree, it's not fair to request a recipient.

02-23-2008, 11:43 AM
ok... I suppose I am still a little confused... umm, so we sign up with our SW names (or something) now, and when it comes time for the drawing there will be a place to add our addresses/real name/P.O. box? and I didn't see any option for "no Lush" or whatever- is that during the drawing? some people (like me) live in tiny jail-cells of studio apartments with no bathtubs and wouldn't want all that bath-y wondrousness going to waste, and I know others are allergic...
i was pretty pleased w/ people i saw on the list- even the 'low-post-count' people had enough to be 'searchable...' i was just worried i'd get someone who was a member since '03 but only had 23 posts... and i'd be totally at a loss as to who they were and what they were into!

so, are we suposed to make a wishlist?
Zabrina
02-23-2008, 12:03 PM
^Yes, fill out your wish list info. It doesn't have to be specific items or anything. Just give your SB enough info to be able to find something you like. List your fav color, hobbies, interests, sizes, or whatever and at the bottom there's a place to list what you do not want.
