^^They've established they can't be trusted. I think it is completely appropriate to request to see those slips.

maybe the charge can be disputed via the actual credit card company

I know everyone is saying that the tip line goes to someone else...

Here's the reality. If it was the intention of the customer for all of that money to go to the dancer, then thats exactly what should happen.

He can always dispute the charge with the credit card company. It is not the club's money or the host or the dancer's money until he signs off on it.

In this cases, he isnt disputing the charge he is disputing where the cash goes. The club does not want a charge back. They want to get paid. Why do they care who gets the tip ? If he holds up their money I am sure they will get the tip to the person he intended on receiving it rather than arguing with him and not getting their money.

^^^Go for it. Just ask "Do you mind if we take a look at the credit card receipts together so we understand what each other is talking about? I don't want any more confusion." Start off polite and keep in mind that this is business and not personal. You are an independent contractor, and thus you ARE a business and have every right to be treated professionally including seeing the paperwork regarding YOUR business transaction.

I would definitely ask to see the receipts, and not accept any bullshit excuse as to why it "can't" happen. They most definitely have them. They HAVE TO have them, for tax purposes AND for credit card processing purposes.

I would also keep in touch with that customer, and have him dispute the credit card charges with his bank (the part that included the tips) if you don't get your money.

As for what Mr pornlaw says about the legality of where the $ on the tipline goes, there's always a difference between what should happen in a stripclub, and what actually does happen. Ehhh

Today will be my second day at work since the incident. I worked thursday night and the owner who told the customer I'll be getting 50/50 on all 4 bills wasn't there. For obvious reasons, I'm given a runaround, and supposedly noone but the owner is going to give me my money. I called almost every night since then asking if the owner was there, of course he wasn't, and noone knew whether he'd be coming in that evening. OK. I'll work this entire week, and one of these days, he'll be there. The customer contacted me after he spoke with the owner last week and all he said (in a text msg) that I'll be getting 50/50. That, in fact, is what he told the host I should have. Now, if I was the customer, I would have said something like "since the host stole her tips, he doesn't deserve his half, so she should get all of it". However, obviously either he didn't say it, or they talked him into sticking with the original decision (these people are pushy, and the customer seems to be a softy, so I see how that could have happened) All I know at this point, is that it's been 10 days, and I'm kinda getting nervous. Although, my customer (who already inquired whether I got paid) is willing to get involved again. I doubt the case will get to disputes with the credit card company, simply because the customer may not want any additional mail arriving to his house for his wife to see where he's been spending money lately.

That vindictive little fuck (host who stole my tips) is already screwing with me. Tonight I was sitting with a customer, who was engaging me in a conversation. All of a sudden, this host A... approaches me and curls his finger in a "come here" motion. I get up, and he tells me that the customer REQUESTED the company of another girl, so I should "walk away". I stood there, bewildered, because that never happened to me before. Usually, the customer would tell me himself that he was sitting there with a girl who just went on the stage; or my customer would tell that to the girls who approached him while I was on stage. Anyway, I stood there bewildered for a moment, then walked away, but a few minutes later, I decided to walk up to the customer and ask him if he'd like me to stop by later. Is that wrong??? All of a sudden, the host RUNS up to me and yells: "that's it, you're suspended!!! go home!!" The manager of the night had his back on that (they are obviously friends) I told him that this host has beef with me, and that I felt that in this incident (this manager already knew). I said that I don't feel comfortable working in the same building this host works - for obvious reasons: HE'S A VINDICTIVE PIECE OF SHIT!! (not in those exact words, but he got the drift...) So I said, once my issue is resolved, I'm outta there, going to the other club. Get this: the manager actually told me that I better stay there and get along, and that he won't allow me to transfer to the other club!!! i'M AN INDEPENDENT FUCKING CONTRACTOR!! Also... tonight was REALLY dead. I made $140 all night! (Our house fee on monday is $60/80 funny, and tip outs are $60) So I had to go to that fucking manager about not paying the house fee at least... (the girls who've worked at that club for years would never pay a dollar if $140 was all they made), but this fucking manager made me pay the $60 tip-out, and said I'd owe them the house fee!! That means ALL FUCKING NIGHT, I WAS WORKING FOR FREE!!!
- OH HELL NO!!! i'M NOT WORKING ANYWHERE AT MY OWN FUCKING EXPENSE!! These people are fucking sharks! They are trying to make me work there for free AND prevent me from going to the other club if I don't feel comfortable about it!! I'm so fucking mad as hell!! That's why i'm at the computer writing this at 6 am instead of sleeping (needed to get that off my chest)....

At least the owner's on your side...
Keep in touch with the customer. Talk to him or the owner and avoid the assholes as much as possible. Report the behavior of the manager and host to the owner, if you think the owner's on your side enough to deal with the dispute... or just say 'I'm sorry, I have tried to resolve a dispute with the staff here, but it hasn't worked; I'll need to work at the other club.' It sounds like you're valuable to the club, and that anyone with a brain in there is gonna know that, but of course I don't know the history or social scene of the club so I might be wrong. But it sounds like the owner, unlike that idiot host, doesn't want to lose his earning potential (you), so if you can track him down...

I think the owner has nothing to do with our other club. Also, he's not THAT nice either, but unlike most of them - he has a brain. He may not be too thrilled to learn that I want to transfer. And I think he's more on their side than mine because they've been there a while, they're the management, and I'm just another stupid dancer. Geez! SOOO many good looking women have left that club already. Even some cows that they hired recently have already dismissed this place as bullshit and moved on. I spoke with one beautiful girl (whom I haven't seen there in over a month now). She worked at the club for 4+ years, and she said it's been getting worse each year.
