there is never gonna be an answer, but I'll throw myhat into the ring....

zxcire - zex-shire (more like sheer)

Susan-Va

heh, I've known susan-va for years and live with her in Virginia. I still think of her as Susan Vah..

^^^ Oh, it's for VIRGINIA!!!!

I totally thought it was susan-vah. I pictured her as some sort of asian til I saw otherwise. ROFL.

I could totally see how you could think Va is Vah! I never thought of it before!

Well I'd be an idiot to protest at people calling me 'DJ Oser', since I am a DJ.

Guilty!

Hardkandee USED to be Hard-and-KNEE because I always read it wrong! I didn't realize it was Hard Candy until a few months ago!

And I thought I was an easy one!

(Even though that has nothing to do with my name!)

i might be dyslexic, but in my head, "thickienikkie" sounds like thinkpinky ::)

I, too, suffer from SW dyslexia.

Early in my SW life I read Yek's name as Yefekha as in too polite to say You F*cker

I prefer Luna Rob Verse as some moon obsessed poet named Rob

Still say DJ Oser although I read his post on the origin months (yrs?) ago

One name I still transpose is Phairest of them All, I add an "i" and dump the t and pronounce it in my head as "Phairies of the Mall"(no spaces in her handle).

2. Mily (when it was miliea it was a lot harder) is Millie in my head but i have a distinct feeling it's supposed to be my-lee. of course Millie just sticks.

Yeah, Hawaiian is a real bitch. :D It is pronounced My-lee... the Hawaiian word for beautiful.

I must not be auditory, because I don't think about this much. I pronounce DJoser, "DJoser" with the "DJ" as in "DJango Reinhart." I assumed he was Romany. I had the great pleasure of meeting Yekhefeh in Vegas some years ago, so I got to hear the correct pronounciation from her own lovely mouth.

When it comes to "zxcire" and "krchab99" though, I've never even tried. I just kind of make a mumble sound in my head and read on.

For the record, "Grace" is pronounced "Grace." The "xoxo" bits are just decoration, and because I sometimes sign notes "XOXO, Grace." Once in while somebody will address me on here as "xoxogr" or some such. I wonder how they pronounce this in their heads. :D

LOL, I love your "mumble sound," Grace. And really, your name is about as non-confusing as it gets. But I guess people like me who enjoy the non-obvious abbreviations could do fun stuff with anyone's screen name.

I never got an answer to my question: how do yall refer to the people on this forum en masse? Stripperwebbers? SWers? If the latter, how do you pronounce it if you're saying it out loud to someone else? Curious cat is curious.

Lol! I always think of Bridgette as "Bridgette" too!

I also think Threlayer is 3-layer and for some reason I never realized there was a second A in Jaizaine! I think of her as "Jazeen."

ZXCire sounds like X- Circe, except its X-Zirce to me.

So Grace would be surrounded by kissing sounds, then? LOL, I like that.

I've been saying "zee" "ex" "sear" "ee" in my head. But that makes my forehead scrunch, so I just remember the letters now.

krchab99

So what do you do with TOO? Is it "TEE-OH-OH" or "TWO?" When I talk to SW-ers, I hear about half one way, half another.

BrunetteGoddess
03-09-2008, 12:18 AM
They're pronounced the same.....so either?

Crap, am I missing the joke? Oh I'm tired.....

All Good Things

OK, I'll try again.

The first example is pronouncing the initials T.O.O, e.g. "TEE-OH-OH."

The second treats TOO as a single word, pronounced "TOO," "TO" or "TWO."

Does that make sense?

BrunetteGoddess
03-09-2008, 12:25 AM
Oh, then "Two" :P

AinNY
03-09-2008, 09:22 AM
To proxy for my homie:
AinNY is "A in New York" not AIN-NY

My name is of course pronounced Shzerot

Thanks Homey! i mean Shzerot 8)
