I don't know if this was mentioned before, but you can try amateur contests. Alot of clubs have then.
They're a great way to test the waters, sharpen your skills & maybe get hired. It's a way of "auditioning" without all the pressure.

About your voice--if you're wanting to alter it to sound more traditionally feminine, have you thought about working with a vocal coach? A good coach can help you to re-train the placement of your voice so that it becomes natural.

If you want you voice changed permanently, check out Robert Thayer Sataloff, MD, DMA in Philadelphia.
He has a surgical procedure that I've heard good things about.
Here's a link to his website:

I hope that helps.
If you are interested in anything else TG, send me a note, I'm pretty well informed.

all forms of identification say 'emily' and that includes my birth certificate which even says 'female' on it now. the state of california is really freakin awesome about that sort of stuff. and yeah, hormones plus some surgery is pretty much the standard route though the only elective surgery i have had has been 'down below' to deal with the original factory equipment as well as some minor rhinoplasty (which i partially regret) that happened to be convenient due to a deviated septum. everything else is just hormones pretty much.
Wow, I didn't know birth certificates could ever be changed :)
I'm curious what you don't like about your rhino and how that experience was for you (since I want one).
Also, you might consider picking up some waitressing experience on a crap shift in a divey diner, if you do want to go the waitress route. Or, I used to waitress and I started as a hostess somewhere.
I'm curious about the femininity and size of your hands - I thought that was one feature that many trans have trouble passing with. However I have seen some males with very feminine hands and females with masculine hands.

As far as the rhinoplasty goes...
I was younger and had a very (kalderash romani) ethnic nose. It was not large but it was certainly longer than average. I actually really liked the length of my nose, all I wanted was for it to look more feminine while keeping the length. But both my mother (who has sometimes been too supportive to the point of pressuring me into things I did not want to do) and the surgeon seriously put pressure on me to shorten my nose and make a few other changes that I did not want. In the end they completely removed the ethnic features of my nose which - because I was otherwise very passable as white due to having inherited my biological father's more pale skin - completely erased most of my racial identification as far as my physical appearance is concerned.
Now all I have is naturally dark hair and the dark eyes. My racial identity has always been extremely important to me and I really regret the fact that I allowed myself to be pressured into getting a 'white' nose rather than one that could have been more feminine while still communicating my racial and ethnic background. Because most 'facial feminisation' procedures amongst most surgeons are patterned entirely off of caucasian features and almost never take into account the racial and ethnic background of the patients. In my experience such feminisation procedures are not just about making someone look more like a woman, they are also (unintentionally) about making people look more caucasian.
It still frustrates and upsets me sometimes when I look in the mirror, because it was done to the point where even I find it difficult to see the Kalderash girl underneath the Standard White reconstruction, and while once upon a time most people recognized me as Passable But Not Of White Descent now all people ever see is a white 'vaguely ethnic' girl. It is frustrating and I kind of feel erased by it in hindsight.

for what it's worth, I'd buy lap dances from you if I saw you in a club. Of course I can only see your face, but going off that, you're hot. :) And Romani? Even better! ;D
I know what you mean about the nose job (having had a very typical Russian-looking nose that now looks...well...nondescript, in my opinion.) How long ago did you have it done? I'm thinking it takes some time to get used to...having looked at yourself for 20+ years and seen one thing, suddenly having it look completely different is going to throw you off for quite some time. I'm not sure if I like mine, to be honest. It looks cute, and it's nice to have it straight again (I had broken it years ago), and I'm eternally grateful that everything turned out well...but I don't look like ME anymore, and that makes me somewhat sad. But maybe I just need to give myself some time to get used to it, and maybe you do too.
Your nose definitely looks good...and we are who we are, no matter what is done to our noses. You're still you, with the same ethnicity and heritage and cultural identification...and IMHO you still look it too. ;)

I don't want to sound like a creep, but I second this! ^ I'm not sure exactly why (I think maybe it has to do with the way you present your personality thru your writing...), and I think your hot, but you are one of the posters that turns me on a lot, even if I wasn't exactly sure your "gender" at first. Now, maybe it's different since I'm a female? But I would totality pay for a dance! :flower:
(I've never received a lap dance before. we should practice on each other HAHAHA ok I think I'm ovulating... sorry...)
