Zinaida- my opinion was against hot-rodding "Eggbert", but I came across this http://www.procharger.com/gallery/showtemp.php?market=6&idx=2124 on the Procharger website. Thought you would enjoy.

Off topic, Melonie you may truly be the smartest person I have ever met. Or at least the most knowledgable... you can speak uber intelligently about..... well, everything!

I doesn't have a whole lot to do with 'smart' ... in fact it has quite a bit to do with 'stupid', as in my having made stupid mistakes in the past. Investing too much money in a car I loved (Mitsu Eclipse 4 wheel drive), but a car whose age and original design limitations resulted in me 'wasting' a fair portion of that money, was one of those 'stupids'.

I don't know if it's been said, but if you sink 15k into a car like that and then it gets totaled your insurance is not going to pay out nearly that much.

^^^^ yes, but then you take your insurance check and buy the car back from the insurance company at salvage value and recover the good bits, then you buy another similar one used and do it over again!

Can you turbocharge a brand new 2008 automatic Corolla? I've seen the 2009 ones but they look too spiffy for me. Well, I guess you can turbocharge anything, but....I don't know. Is it still a very 'out there' idea that would be very difficult for me to have pulled off or is it realistic?

ahhh, nevermind I just saw the post on the second page. I'd never heard that term before. I thought you were talking about turning your car into a car you could live in or something.

Lol! I can see how you would have thought that from the name. :D

You know that reminds me, there was a period of time where I was thinking about making some matching decorative pillows for the backseat of my car since it looks like a loveseat lol, try to make it look like a real couch for kicks. I think I had been watching a lot of pimp my ride at that point. :O

Google it. I found http://www.toyotaworld.com/trdsupercharger.html - but it's for 03 - 04 Corollas and it's a supercharger, not a turbo. Didn't see any hits for a turbo.

Of the manufacturer and reseller sites I've visited, you can find a lot of 'chargers for Mustangs, Vettes, some Hondas, Magnums, SUV's and pickups and other scattered makes and models, but there isn't much out there for standard economy sedans. It's worth an internet search though.

Hmmm. I might just end up getting a custom. :(

I still don't know what I want to do. I'm half-tempted to throw in the towel and get an Impreza WRX. But it's not my dream......

I say follow whatever your heart tells you to do. If it's not your real dream, don't do it.
