I love Pitties! There was one at the Humane Society that I LOVED to take for walks. i just wish I had the means to adopt her, but at the time I didn't :( Her name was Rosie.

I rescued both of my dogs. One from a rescue shelter, and one from a neighbor who had my Leila as a puppy and kept her locked in a cage 24-7. These are the best dogs I have ever seen, and not only have the never bitten anybody, but they just love people to hugs and kisses.

I love her, even though she's a HANDFUL.
she snores so loud, loves to cuddle. enjoys long walks on the beach... heh. but seriously, Shera is 4 months old, probably the smartest dog I have ever met. even my parents who were SO against me having her have fallen in love and are buying her bones, toys, leashes, and even a CRATE!
I do have to say that she can be somewhat of an idiot though- She opened the slider to my balcony the other day and jumped off. (I live on the second floor....) no girl!! Dogs cannot fly!!!

Great thread! I missed this first time around.
I can't keep a pet because I move around so much but last year we fostered an adorable deaf pitbull from RocketDog Rescue in San Francisco. She was the sweetest most gentle dog, I miss her so much. :'(

For people who didn't catch this when it came out, here's a great news story about how some of Michael Scumbag Vicks' dogs are recovering...
(AP) -- His back resting comfortably against her chest, Hector nestles his massive canine head into Leslie Nuccio's shoulder, high-fiving pit bull paws against human hands.
The big dog -- 52 pounds -- is social, people-focused, happy now, it seems, wearing a rhinestone collar in his new home in sunny California.
But as Hector sits up, deep scars stand out on his chest, and his eyes are imploring.
Hector ought to be dead, Nuccio knows -- killed in a staged fight, executed for not winning or euthanized by those who see pit bulls seized in busts as "kennel trash," unsuited to any kind of normal life.
Instead, Hector is learning how to be a pet....

Here's one of my dog Tony. He is a pure bred, bluenose American Pit Bull Terrier. I love him! I'd add more photos but I'm having problems with my iphoto.

Oh yeah, she was sooooooooooooooo vicious. She slept next to me, and sat in my lap and gave me hugs when I came home, and tried to cure my poison ivy. When we ran in the park every morning, she'd guard all the neighbor kids. Best dog I've ever had.
R.I.P. Clemensa. I'll never have another friend like you. You are missed by so many.
