The real psycho part is about my hair. I hate, hate, hate it. It's this weird curly/flat hybrid. I refuse to shower unless I know I have time to dry and style my hair - I'd rather skip it than go out with wet hair.
LOL thats me too :P

Eh, depends on the time of day and where I'm going.
Later in the day- Eyeliner, mascara and lip conditioner/chapstick. Not the whole sexy-smudgey eyeliner, just a game of ring around the lashes.
Going out with friends- Eyeliner, mascara, some type of light eyeshadow and lipstick/lip conditioner. It really all depends on where we're going that determines if my lips are colored or just have the conditioner on.
Big events- All out. I only happen across these every 2 or 3 months (like last Saturday was a friend of mine's stepfather's last night singing with a cumbia band, so I got all dolled up for the special occassion) and are the only times I will wear any type of foundation.
I NEVER use blush. Don't ask why, but I have an aboration for the stuff and only wear it for cosplay.

You arent supposed to wash your hair every day..its bad for your hair.Strips it of natural oils. I usually only wash mine every other day...sometimes every third. Unless it gets dirty or smells all smokey when I work in the club or something.

Yeah I can't wash my hair every day but I usually have to when I shower. Otherwise it gets all tangled 'cause it's curly.
And because I read this thread... I felt it necessary to put on make up to go to Wendy's. LOL

I don't have great skin so I usually won't leave the house without at least some concealer on at least my zits. It's usually my hair that I care about more too though!

Girls at my club do this but I just couldn't. I would be way too self conscious.

Depends. Laundromat day/bum day, no makeup. Work ( housekeeping at a hotel) since I hardly see anybody all day, I wear minimal stuff: foundation and concealer to even out my skin tone and zits, mascara to make me look awake, and fill in my eyebrows because they grow funny and are missing patches and need to be combed into place constantly.

^you should try a dry shampoo in between washings. They make different colored powders for different colored hair. Bumble & Bumble makes an aerosol one and Hair Fix makes a loose powder one that you just shake onto your head.

^^Bleh I HAVE to wash my hair everyday. I mean esp. to get the smoke out of it from work. I wouldn't be able to fall asleep with it smelling like that.
I wear makeup everyday to work. But not on my own time. I sometimes wish I did. I look so much better with it on. But I'm lazy. I also like to give myself a break from all the products when I can. When I don't wear makeup I don't wash my face or anything, it's healthier for me that way.

^^ I used to have a really good spray for my hair that got out all the smoke smell( I cant sleep with my hair reeking of strip club either). I wish I could remember what it was...
My hair is really dry and it just gets worse when I wash it every day. Its easier to style too when it isnt freshly washed.

No...it was a small bottle specifically for getting smells like smoke out of your hair. Like hair Febeeze. It was a cpl years ago and I"ve never seen it since. I think it was made by a known hair care line though...Herbal Essences maybe?

My morning SPF moisturizer is tinted and I'm a Retin-A user, so I'm never without that. If I don't have anything specific to do, though, it often stops there. If I'm feeling beauty ambitious or have somewhere to go, I wear concealer, eyeliner, mascara, clear brow gel, and blush. Since I've stopped dancing, I haven't had an excuse to go all-out in a long time. I think I would like one. I am very proud of my false eyelash skills...
I wash my hair maybe three times a week. I wear it up a lot because I'm trying to ignore it while it grows.
No matter how scrubby/hungover/alone I am, I wear perfume. Perfume is my hobby. It doesn't even feel like something that is part of a general grooming routine to me at this point. It is sort of funny to realize that I just spent the day in sweatpants, a huge T-shirt, and some vintage Chanel Bois des Iles, but I do it all the time.

I usually at least wear sunscreen and foundation with a little blush when I go out, but there are times when I have to go somewhere really early and I don't have time to worry with it. But overall, I prefer to look nice so I take the time to do myself up a little.

I hardly ever wear makeup unless I'm working or going somewhere like dinner, or club, or the mall. But every day running around, grocery store, bank ect...I don't wear anything. I like to give my skin a break from all the crap I put on it. and my hubby doesn't even notice if I wear make up or not. so I'm not realy tripping.

I know that feeling. I used to make it a point of looking pale and would go out of my way to avoid anything that could possibly make me darker (had to use the absolute lightest foundation in most makeup lines because I refused to go into the sun)
lol, Back in high school, I once fell asleep next to the bleachers, just laid out in the dark. Some other kids come along and decided it would be funny to bug me since I wasn't the most popular kid in school, but they didn't know I was a VERY heavy sleeper. Because I was so pale and my breathing was too shallow for them to even notice, when I didn't move after them poking and prodding me for 10 minutes, they freaked out and promptly screamed that I was dead.
Worst way to wake up? With your 50-something year old gym teacher that you absolutely deplore carrying you to the nurse's office as fast as he can.

^^ OMG that is horrible! At least you can laugh about it. It reminds me about how when I was in school and I would go to the nurse's office to play hookie, every single time they wouldn't even ask me my symptoms or take my temperature. They'd just look at me pityingly and be like: "Oh I can tell you don't feel good, I can tell by how pale you are! What's your parent's work number?" :D

I'm lazy, I don't even wear makeup to work anymore half the time, unless I'm closing out a decent chunk of business, but not always even then.
I usually wear mascara though, plus whatever mascare melted under my eyes from the night before. And a nude lipstick or just chapstick.

How this was a fast thread !! I always wear a tinted mostizier and some mascara ...lip gloss if I think of it !! I am more a hair person though , like I wouldnt leave the house with my greasy hair in a pony tail BUT I might go out with no make up on ......clean hair is a must !!

I'm surprised by how many people said lip gloss! I can never wear it if I know I'm going to be doing more than a tiny bit of running around outside because any sort of breeze blows my hair right into it! :-X

i wear maybe a little bronzer, mascara and lipgloss at home. Sometimes none.
My skin is pretty healthy and any makeup just seems to hinder it.
When i go out i use powder, bronzer eyeliner mascara and a light eyeshadow.
I go crazy makeup for work.
I find that different types of men hit on me when i have less makeup on. Still good looking men, but churchy more wholesome quality guys. Not all the time though.

I feel a lot prettier when I have makeup on, but sometimes I'm still too lazy. If I'm going just to the grocery store of w/ev, I won't wear any, but i still try to dress decent. If I'm going anywhere with friendsout to dinner with rob or something, I'll wear makeup..... and I feel a lot more attractive for it.

I never wore makeup until I was like seventeen, and then I wore it a lot for a little while there...Except at the farm, obviously.
Now I wear it when I'm out with friends, or when I'm at work. I don't really bother during the day. I'm such a raggamuffin. It feels a lot more anonymous. I don't like attention from anyone. But yeah, that still doesn't stop some people. Especially at the farm, for whatever reason, I'd get hit on by farriers and worker guys all the time. Because farm men are a desperate lot, I'm guessing.

If I get up early and have time before I have to go out wherever I have to go that day, I sometimes do, but usually on my days off or for school or whatever I don't bother. I like to give my face a break!

What is a farrier?
aka- a blacksmith
aka- the guy who puts the shoes on horses, and trims their feet.
I remember i had a boyfriend once who was like 'we went to this old-timey place where they re-enacted all this stuff, like they had a real live blacksmith!!'. And I was like 'uhm, they still exist you know. Horses still need shoes. They're out there!' And they hit on dirty-faced stall cleaning teenage girls, there you go...girls who have to hold the horse for them and roll their eyes...Farriers are like any travelling workman- they love to gossip, and pick up. Like carnies.

I'm the full makeup girl. Even in college early morning classes, full makeup, done hair, high heels.
Yeah, I'm one of those girls. Foundation, blush, highlighter, eyebrow pencil, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, lipstick, whole deal.
When my boyfriend sleeps over, I wake up earlier than him and sneak into the bathroom to shower/do my makeup/blowdry my hair before he wakes up.
During those days where we napped together, I deliberately wore mineral makeup so I could sleep in it.
He complains he has no idea what I really look like, and I plan to keep it that way.
It's for a few different reasons.
One, culture. I have Egyptian family, and I was raised that how you take care of yourself is a reflection of how you respect other people. So showing up at your boyfriend's or friend's in ratty sweatpants would be considered disrespectful to them. Being well groomed is considered a mark of courtesy.
I'm very pale (palest foundation available pale due to anemia), and because of a mix of nationalities (Irish, Egyptian, Czech) my features are very odd- giant, oversized eyes, big hooked nose. If I go natural, I feel very awkward and odd, and a few makeup tricks (and good hair) help my features look more "mainstream".
And, the few days where I dont do my makeup (heck, even when I'm just lounging in my house I do makeup), I just feel like crap and blegh.
I don't know, I guess I feel like you never know what's going to happen to you, or who you're going to run into, on any given day. Whatever happens, I want to look my best.

I definately wear it religiously, usually only take it off at night for bed. Sad as it sounds, sometimes I think it's like a security blanket of sorts for me.

depends
i wake up with makeup on sometimes. if it's not much, i usually leave it on while i do stuff. now that i use apple cider vinegar, sleeping in makeup isn't much of a problem.
if my face is clean and i'm planning to work later on, i usually won't put on any. i don't like overwashing my face or using more than one cleansing cloth a day. i'm cheap like that.
if i'm not sure if i'm working or if i'm going somewhere where i think i might see someone whose opinion of my looks could matter to me, i'll wear foundation, maybe a little eyeshadow, shadow as liner, maybe some blush and/or bronzer. basically the bare minimum to think i look nice, which varies by my mood, my skin, and how much eye liner residue is leftover from the last time i wore it. if my skin is nice and my eyes look slightly lined still, i won't add a thing.
if i want to look hot, i'll wear something similar to my work makeup. these days, i've cut down on my work look since "natural" seems to sell better at my club. i actually wear more makeup outside the club than in sometimes!

^But not in a good way lol. I appeal to a certain group of men, but otherwise, complete strangers come up to me and make very rude comments. An doften. It's just better for my piece of mind (and peace and quiet) to glob ons ome makeup and avoid people telling me I'm weird looking, need a tan, or should go bomb something.
Zinaida
03-18-2008, 05:48 PM
Fuck them. They obviously don't know shit. And as for being hassled about getting a tan.... Tell me about it lol! The girls at my clubs have practically chased me around the dressing room with self tanners. One girl got a tanning booth put in her house and she was always trying to get me specifically to come over to use it lol.

A long time ago...back when I was REALLY trying to be mainstream an dhad platinum blond hair.
It wasn't good. It was a nice hair color, but because my skin is so pale and cool-toned, it looked like a banana.
I was actually going to take pictures tomorrow...to show my hair growth length..I suppose I could expose my oddly mixed face at the same time;D

I used to wear makeup daily for work (office job), but when I began working from home 4 days a week about two years ago, I began going without makeup because hey, I live alone. If I had to run to the grocery store or Target for 15 minutes, I wouldn't bother putting any on and would just wear gym clothes all day long.
After about a year of wearing sweats everywhere, my sister finally staged an intervention and pointed out that 5 minutes of prep before going out in public wasn't asking too much. I eventually saw the light, and now, even though I still don't go all out just to go to the grocery store, I will at least put on jeans and a little eye makeup, which only takes a couple minutes to apply.
I did find that after about a year of not wearing foundation more than occasionally, my skin began to look a LOT better (this after about 15 years of wearing it daily). So now I generally only use eye makeup, a little concealer on the T-zone to even out my skin tone, and powder. I save foundation for special occasions.
