Ladyhawke was pretty good .
I LOVE Ladyhawke, but it's not exactly historically accurate or anything.

^Nope. Most good movies aren't historically accurate. Most history is not as clear or interesting as movies.

Excellent viewing, but terrible to assign as a 'medievally accurate' movie that I'll be tested on. So far: Henry V (Shakespeare + Ken Branaugh), Seventh Seal (depressed Swedes) and some crazy film with Christopher Lee as King Phillip of Spain and Toyah Wilcox as his tart.
Madness.

FedEx guy just asked me what my Christian name was. I know he means my maiden name. Which I just realized there's no good way to say it. Either you're assuming a woman is Christian or married. wtf.

My parents met my old fuck buddy today when he came to fix my car for me after I broke down leaving their house yesterday. Sadly, they absolutely love him to death and wonder why I don't dump my boyfriend for him. I haven't seen the old fuck buddy in years and he did get hotter. Things with my guy have been pretty rocky lately but I still love him, even though sometimes I know hes bad for me and I don't know why I'm dating him. Mr. Fuck buddy is successful, polite, absolutely insanely loaded, average in bed, but has his shit together. My guy is scruffy, musician-type, has a great sense of humor, cheated on me and never has taken me on a date in 2.5 years, an amazing fuck, and doesn't want to grow up....but I still am so ridiculously attracted to him and we share weird quirks.
Old fuck buddy made me feel attractive and happy again today though. I haven't been happy in months. I just got home and realized it was the first day in a long time I haven't had a panic attack or been depressed. I promised him I'd go to dinner with him on Thursday after he put a new part on my car hes ordering and then we are going to pick up his expensive new sports car thats being delivered. (I don't really like sports cars though. I think hybrids or electrics are sexier)
I guess I just forgot what its like to be taken on a date, complimented, and flirted with. Hmmm....
What to dooooo?

I thought the Christian name was your first name. Like your 'christened' name? Still-very slanted.

It's your entire name given to you from birth, first and last TECHNICALLY. Definition now is last name though.
If you really think about it, as a converted Jew, it can be really really insulting. Like... Oh what was your name AS A CHRISTIAN!
Not like he knew that, of course.. but you can see where it would get really sticky.

Weird. There's a lot of presumptuous stuff like that, just sort of built in the the language. Like the BC/AD or BCE/CE thing. A lot of our under 40 profs have gone "CE", but it'll be a while before that change really kicks in outside of academia. If ever.

Go for the fuck buddy! Seriously.. Trust me, I'm not materialistic at all but I spent way too much time with guys like that only to realize later on what an absolute waste of time it was. It all depends on how old you guys are too. I was much less picky when I was younger. I was with guys who were dreamers, slackers, non-conformists, hipsters and not motivated at all to build a life for themselves and constantly wanted to avoid becoming what they called 'sheep' and live normal lives. This is all fine and dandy when you're younger, carefree and the thought of being stable and having a home and family hasn't become a priority yet. I'm four months away from turning 31, so these things have become important for me. Like, will he be a good provider? Help around the house? Hold a steady job? Be a good father? Number one, he cheated on you. Number two, he's never even taken you out on a date! If you're looking for a serious, long-term relationship with a guy who you will eventually marry and have kids with, to me, it's a no-brainer who you should choose.

I'm 21. Fuck buddy is 24 and I've known him since I've been 16. We got together every two years or so and fucked for a few weeks until I started dating the current bf. My current bf is 28 and while a brilliant and well read guy has no desire to do anything besides read, play video games, and smoke pot (although, I have nothing against pot except when it prohibits you from caring or actually following your dreams). I do have a habit of staying in relationships that are bad for me because I'm so attracted to creative, artistic types. Hes exactly what you were describing. I'm far, far from materialistic too. I thrive on frugality and thriftiness. I'm struggling so hard to not admit that this guys Ferrari makes me giggly and excited. I mean its a stupid, wasteful car but at the same time I realize he knows what he wants and works very hard to get it.
I'm not exactly in a situation where I need to worry about having a guy as a provider though. As soon as I finish college I'll have a job where I'll definitely be able to handle myself. I'm too stubborn to ever depend on one. My mother is absolutely trying to convince me to go for the fuck buddy. Shes usually right but I choose to ignore her.
I just told my bf that I was going to dinner on Thursday with the old fuck buddy. His response? "Bring me the left overs." He really is a very reasonable guy though. I've explained that I need to be going out and doing things. He doesn't mind me going out on dates with other guys because he realizes my age and my inexperience. But then, am I really still dating him? Our sex life, while still amazing, is less frequent. I think we are better off as roommates and best friends than in a serious relationship. I don't really want to be tied down and neither does he but we still care very much about each other. His cheating did come at a time about a year ago when our relationship was strained and we were about to break up because we were both working opposite hours and in different parts of the country.
Its so hard to dump someone that lives with you. We've been living together six months now. Its one of those situations where the make up sex is so amazing its really hard to not forget what the hell he did wrong.
I really want to just keep my guy and have some sort of open relationship arrangement since he has mentioned before he'd be fine with it. Fuck buddy wouldn't mind either. I also want to date more girls too.
I'm slowly, slowly starting to realize I need my freedom, but how much I don't know.
I've been resisting so hard making a LO post and pole asking which guy.

I hate that. I remember feeling a tickling on my arm once and it was a HUGE ant. Omg I flipped the fuck out.
And my dorm had them sooooo bad after the hurricanes in 2005. My computer was right by the window and they'd be crawling on my keyboard, bed, everything. *shudders*
