View Full Version : SW is gonna implode!

i never lied. i loved my customers (real love, i enjoyed dancing for them once i abandoned the notion of dancing for anyone who had a 20). and i loved dancing naked and crawling around onstage for dollars. it was hotttt.
but then i am pretty reviled on the pink side for enjoying my work on a physical level and being conflicted about it on a metaphysical level.

Wait, let me see if i have this right....
So the cunts ran folks like me off SW. You know, people who think for themselves and post what they think/feel regardless of what the majority are saying. Thus leaving just the chicks to agree with each other on everything and the males who kiss their asses hoping for a peice of tail they'll never get.... and then they got sick of the males who kissed their asses and banished them.... and now they're finally realizing that they're all cunts and that they're actually the problem? Heh, can't say I didn't call this about 4 years ago on a thread on Blue where pryce told me to shut up or leave.
Ahhhhhhhh, vindication. So sweet.it's wrong to preen and gloat at another person's misfortune, sandy. ROTFLMAO...oops, i tell a lie.
Can someone post links or transcripts of what's going on? I'm too lazy to look. Who's flipping out over what. Who's leaving and why?they're probably long gone by now. it usually happens when one tries to create a fool's paradise. besides, attempting keep up and digest too much drama is like eating too many sweets. it'll make you sick at some point.
that makes sense. i've posted that nude in houston is lower stress and much easier/better money than topless, and it's been ignored for several years now, but i was making SuperStripper money avoiding the topless clubs there. so that's an immediate-to-hand example of what you're talking about.yeah, i always thought the aversion girls have about working nude despite it's benefit was funny. oh well, you can lead a stripper to water but...
Tina is too honest. admitting that earnings are more likely to be 300 per shift regular rather than 1000 is just NOT what SWers ever want to hear.true. everyone wants hear how to score with a home run instead of consistently getting on base and grinding it out with singles and doubles.

I'm a little mystified by the bashing that TOO gets upstairs. As far as I can see, he makes it possible through his sponsorship for StripperWeb to continue. His posts are overwhelmingly gentle and supportive...occasionally flirty and suggestive. Not much negative coming out of his keyboard. His generosity has touched many of the girls...profoundly.
So what if he's a little cocky or brash from time to time? So what if he likes/loves strippers? What the hell...he's a young, good looking man, doing well and enjoying life. I mean seriously, taken on the whole, the guy seems alriight to me. Am I missing something here?

I'm a little mystified by the bashing that TOO gets upstairs.
I don't know. I asked the same. It may just be that in the end, he has a dick, he is not a stripper, he is not in the business, and like most guys on SW, has an agenda to befriend strippers OTC. Some guys do it through flattery. Some through money. Etc. I guess there is an argument to be made, the dancers really want a place where they are entirely insulated from guys trying to befriend them OTC, and no exceptions should be made, not even for the primary benefactor.
Problem is TOO is also human. Few of us can give and expect absolutely nothing in return, not even a little bit of gratitude. To be honest, I have doubts that the dancers can raise enough money on their own to keep the site healthy. $50 or $100 here or there probably won't cut it. How many would give? How much? And not just once, but monthly or bi-yearly to keep the site running?
And there would different problems if it was purely dancer funded, a class divide between those who give and those who don't. Very likely it would be more of the same, those who give the most would become overbearing when push comes to shove. Such is life since it becomes all to easy for dancers to threaten to pull their funding when they are unhappy. TOO at least has stuck it out, even though a lot of bashing of him, he continues to spend on the site.
Sadly, to some degree, it makes me think of the entitlement minded discussions we have had down here from time to time. The dancers do get 99% of what they want in terms of having a site that belongs to them. It is not perfect, but it is also not like TOO has any major role in site operations. If it's still not good enough, at some point we have to ask, maybe the problem really is with their own personalities and lack-of tolerance for disagreement.

You make some good points X. I do think that a funding formula will be found that makes sense. There is enough interest I think, whether it will be member funded or sponsored. I agree about the general suspicion toward men on pink, because of the ITC experience. I think it is possible to get past that though, not with everyone of course as there will always be people who don't like you no matter what you do.

The analogy has been used often: like watching a trainwreck. The slight difference being that it is without the sense of horror. I feel more a sense of incredulity and a fair bit of amusement. None of it actually has a chance of making me feel bad.

I can't help but wonder if some of the anti-TOO sentiment is just an off shoot of the ever present anti-Male (aka "our problems are due to men" think) undertone on pink, something which I think is for the most part very unhealthy, but subtly promoted as part of the popular group think. I keep wondering, if a woman was the primary benefactor, would it go over better?
I think you are correct, while it fucking sucks, I agree. It IS anti man on pink.
While I don't agree with it, and never have, I do like the ladies only, cause I can talk about girl stuff with no issues or sarcastic comments from some of our blue ribbon boys, lol.
But any of the old school guys know I get along better with the guys than the girls anyway, ya know?
I dunno what will happen if anything, but like life, things have a way of going on with or without you.

Hell Jenny, we get along a lot better down here than the pinkies do in their domain. You of all people should know that. We just don't always get along with you.
Those of us who have worked in an environment where women substantially outnumber men will understand. I have a friend who manages an office of about 10 women, and he's often heard lamenting "I'm hating anything with tits today." More than once I've had women tell me that they don't want to work in an all-female work environment.

Welp, I hate to say it, but is it time we found another AE related site?
Outside of TOO issues, another major problem is the privacy issue, which is a pretty easy matter to solve IMO.
I would be willing to contribute some of my very expensive programmer-hours to spiffy up a site with such a vibrant community as SW.
We have some pretty high powered IT professionals on here, it would be pretty easy to do many technical things much better.

Some thoughts.
(a) I'd agree with Miabella - part of the problem is that money is going south and that making everyone in pink far more competitive.
For example, I see far fewer dancers posting advice in the Newbies section than I did several years ago - maybe they see it as helping the competition.
(b) There is a fair degree of men hating. The last time there was a thread moaning about the number of male posts in SG I did total up the number in the first page of threads - it was about 1%. So, for all the "I wish men would stay out of our threads" mentality, the actual incidence was low. Not to mention there was more dancer v dancer drama than dancer v customer drama.
(c) I get the impression from some of the posts in the drama threads in pink that a lot of the war is going on behind the scenes in PM's. Which gives me the impression that there's some fairly personal animosities up there.
(d) Most the the drama seems to be coming from a fairly small percentage of the dancers. I'll guess that >95% manage to post without any drama.
(e) As the saying goes - "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned". It's popcorn time.
Phil.

well, back in the day, girls would say 'i don't mind posting my hustle tips since none of y'all are local'. but now that there's been stuff like 10 SW dancers showing up to work at a club that supports 30 because they heard it was great money, everyone's 'technically' local now. what happened with phx is a case in point. there were chicks travelling there specifically because they heard it was easy, fast money.
and with SW, more and more local girls are finding out who works where. so you get privacy and 'local competition' issues anyhow because lots of strippers now come to SW. there are girls who never post, but are at your doorstep PMing if you mention a club ANYWHERE has 1k per shift potential.
it's kind of a weird situation. the site became popular because it was a great source of info about stripping in many regions and countries. but now that means girls local to those areas and girls willing to travel know who's earning what where. it was a catch-22 that has caught up to the site, but it was also inevitable.

I've been posting on here (mainly in pink) for a bit over three years now, and my general impression is that it's gotten to be a more intolerant (even nastier) environment up there.
Threads that had drama used to be relatively rare, now it seems that more than a few degenerate into name calling by the second page.
Sad really, cos a lot of the girls who post there in pink seem to come there for support and consolation when they get stressed at work.

I don't know how it is possible Pryce and TOO can be so cool headed, but okay, hey, my therapist says sometimes it is okay to tell people to fuck off ;)
Anyway... it seems like the dancers have a stable site to come and chat, and they self moderate it (the exception being the guys who moderate the blue side). There is a LO for the women. They can kick trolls off, tell men to fuck off, do whatever they want pretty much. Everything is paid for and while it is not perfect, for the most part it is come and use it and enjoy, yet...
To read the drama, you would think that everything is a total mess upstairs, dancers can't possibly talk or share insights, that all of the distress between them is the fault of customers, PLs, Pryce, and TOO.
Or it could just be ... they are people who are never happy, find and love drama, and are getting off on it. /shrug

I wish some people would start seeing the bigger picture and realize that is the root of the problem. Nobody really vents upstairs. They just sort of bring their latest grievance of the evening to the table, talk to others going through bullshit, which is not unlike their own, and take that sense of hopelessness back home with them.
Back when the site was a little smaller, this was manageable, but not anymore. We've seen every "meanest thing ____ said to you" thread thirty times by now, and we've exhausted all the good answers. There's only so much catharsis any person can be allowed before the community sentiment towards that person turns ugly.
I mean, taking your trash out to the curb if only beneficial if there's someone there to haul it away. Otherwise it just festers and smells up the place.

i think pryce's neglect made things worse, regarding clubs and reviews. that was where dancers could post anonymous info about clubs. when that became NOT EVEN AN OPTION, dancers were left with having to PM and start threads and directly ask for info. and that's going to create favorites/drama quicker than when at least some club info can be found out and posted anonymously.

Well, I slogged through B's train wreck of a thread and I have one observation. Aside from all the justifiable criticism of the site, what strikes me is how emotionally invested some members are in pink. This is completely understandable since the site's purpose is to "provide support and serve as a place to network." I don't think such a place existed on the web before Stripperweb. Sure there were other sites, but they were geared toward rating clubs and serving us pervs. Stripperweb’s unique because it is for better or worse dancer oriented. If the site would ever go dark it would be like losing a safe haven and I'm sure some members would feel personally betrayed. On the other hand, if Stripclubjunkie ever disappeared, I for one wouldn't be too sad since there’s not so much at stake. It's the difference between what you do to pay the bills and what you do for fun.
it's because they are nerds and few have many RL friends

some nude dancers in houston are nude only on stage and do the dances topless. i get your larger point, which is perfectly valid, but at the same time, if a houston girl doesn't want to travel to work, nude is pretty much your best bet in that town for good/great money and low contact.
of course, that may change in the next six months with the legal situation fermenting there.

I dunno Doc, I think many dancers can discuss things rationally upstairs. If you read enough of the treads on pink you kinda get to know who causes drama and who doesn't. And I do think the drama queens are in a minority.
Although sometimes I do wonder why the f*** they are getting all hot under the collar - seems the sparks come from the clash of egos.
