Hi y'all again. So blown away by everyone's kind words and PMs and even video messages! ;D I swear, I will so be getting back to everyone when I have a little more breathing room, just know that it's not because I don't appreciate every single kind thought. Special thanks to Rhiannon for helping us field everything.
Man, I have so much I'd love to get into and write about, but these little respites are few and far between. I can' believe it's already day three. We're doing well; nursing is still a little difficult (she was barely interested at all the first day & had weak rooting, which, it turns out, happens with both early babies and with babies with lots of molding due to a long pushing phase - both true in her case) but we had an awesome lactation consultant come over which helped tremendously.
Now if only diaper changes were less traumatic for her! Thats just the worst. I don't mind the mess at all, even with the nastiest meconium, I just hate how tortured she is by it. That's where those lungs come in! Oh, and it would be nice if the *AHEM* swelling went down a bit more. SCARY. But that's the least of my concerns of course.
One of the midwives is coming back today - I can't get over how awesome they all have been. And Mast has been just an incredible trooper, both in how much he's helping me and in how wonderful he is with her.
I guess it's time to change my sig, huh? I'm gonna miss that little ticker!!!
Finally - Rhia, I know what you mean. I am literally missing out on opportunities to sleep because I can't stop looking at her.

So good to see an update from you, Rose! You're very welcome--I'm happy to help out in whatever way that I can. Let me know if there's anything else you and your new little family need!
How are you doing with the Nursing? Are you in pain, cracked and bleeding? It took Hunter a good 6 weeks to get the hang of it completely and "my girls" suffered big time. I would literally break down in tears every time Hunter wanted to be fed, and I had to use Dan's stress ball thingy to squeeze through the pain. I should have bought stock in Lansinoh cream--because that stuff is such a lifesaver. I'm going to get you some for your package (sending that out on Monday or Tuesday the latest). The thing that really got me through it was not only applying it to myself, but also squeezing a glob onto the middle of each pad--INSTANT relief. I noticed that someone bought some from your registry, but I'm going to get you a couple of tubes to make sure you're good and stocked up.
You can call me anytime, too. I'm always available.
*Hugs to all three of you!*

Thanks for the update, Rose! I'm glad you are all doing well.
I have a quick question (anyone who knows can answer) - are you using cloth or disposable diapers?

I think they're using cloth, Alexxa :)

I'm so happy to hear that all is well! Adrian was a lazy nurser for the first 2 days, but it seems that on the 3 day afterwards, he latched on and didn't let go for months. LOL I'm sure it will happen with your little one, as well.
Please feel free to call me if you need anything, anything at all...
Take care and give the little one an extra snuggle just from me.

The princess Lily was born on 4/14/08 at 11:01 pm, exactly 40 minutes BEFORE I got there :( she's 7 lbs even and 21 inches long. She enjoys long walks on the beach, colostrum, and the strong silent type boys, slightly older, who like to ride in their stroller and say "Sup" with their faces all the time. Cute and caring sister optional. Know any of these boys Venus?
No, I don't know any boys like that, Mast. Unfortunately, Adrian refuses to ride in the stroller. All the other stuff sounds like him, though. LOL
Awesome for the stats...now I can finish my gift to you all (PM me her middle name if you don't want to post it...I need that).
OMG, I go away for a few days and I miss it all. Congrats Rose and Mast, and a friendly welcome to your beautiful baby girl.

Congratulations Mast and Rose!!
Pity you missed it Mast... don't worry there are plenty of times you will be there for them.
At least you weren't the kind that was in the waiting room... That cracked me up when I saw that after JLB was born.

Ahoy all - dust has settled a little, or at least enough to get a few more pics organized! I posted them in Pic Post and will throw more up in that thread soon, but here's one for starters.

My Goodness! Look at that blonde hair! She gets more beautiful with every picture you post!
I just got back from Baby Lily Shopping! I had such a blast, and I got so many cute things for her. I had to stop myself because Dan would've killed me if I had gone over our "budget deal" for my spree.. Heh. I wasn't able to find any Lansinoh at either of the 2 places I shopped. They did have one on the shelves at one place, but it was taped shut and the packaging was smooshed a bit. I wasn't about to get that to send to ya. I can always grab some in the future for you, though. I can't wait for you to get all this! The package should be shipped Monday, as long as Dan can squeeze in a trip to the PO before work. If not, he can definitely do it on Tuesday because he doesn't have to open the store solo then. But I'm pushing for Monday.
Weeee! Now I'm off to wrap!
