Hmmm. I am actually provoked a bit by the intentions here. Nobody cared about this dog until it was put on display. We 'sit by and let dogs starve' all the time in the world. Nobody notices strays. The second someone takes an already starving dog and puts him in a room we 'humanize' the dog.
I totally get it.
Harsh way to get the words out there... but would anyone have listened otherwise?Well, interesting point... but I would say the intuitive difference is that when you put it in a cage and starve it it ceases to be something that happens and becomes something you're doing to it.
I also don't believe that you can promote animal rights or an anti-cruelty agenda by cruelty to animals. (Google "Kensington" and "cat" for an absolutely true, absolutely not-an-urban-myth-or-hoax story that happened in Toronto a few years ago. Before you look for details please be warned - not for the faint of heart.)
