That's funny - my aunt and I are really into it too. Oh and I drive Jess nuts with it. I'll get dressed in the morning and say, "I think this is the best costume for the day!" and then whisper, "I never wear this in Easthampton."

If I'm clean, and the clothes are clean, then it is wearable and I'm presentable.
Going out is something different, I get dressed nicely and up.
Otherwise, there is too much going on in my life to bother with the rest of it if I'm not at work or going out.

i can be a total slob at times. it's not uncommon for me to go to the grocery store in my trashy hello kitty pyjama pants and a dirty tshirt with no bra and messy hair.

i just don't care.

I always wear jeans, a tight shirt and heels. I want to look nice when I go out... so I can get a decent shag. It doesn't work. Maybe I should be an ugly fuck.

I wore a hat like this today and a cute guy hit on me... wtf:

I just dont like it when people wear pajamas and slippers in public... i mean, if youre running to the corner store, fine but at the mall. C'mon people. Jeans (even cute sweats), tshirt, flip flops, ponytail. takes all of 1 minute and you at least look presentable. Thats what i look like today... no makeup, hair not really done but not total slob.

NOW that looks slobbish to me. Irks me too. lol

I'm another one who lives in sweats.

I'm in college. Chances are I got no sleep the night before because : a) I went out with my buds. b) I stayed up all night doing homework or c) I couldn't sleep due to severe insomnia. I go to class looking like crap because I'd rather get up 5 minutes before class than lose sleep and put on makeup.

I should add I also learned how to tie my hair into a cute bun without brushing it and without a hairband for those lazy days.

:duck: I"m sorry so many people are so offended by this thread. I had no idea so many girls on this site like to walk around in tshirts and sweats with holes in them...

I can't say it really bothers me sometime you just couldn't be arsed.

I have to know...what does it mean to "couldn't be arsed?"

Aussie slang for 'couldn't give a shit'.

i just don't understand why people say it actually annoys them to see other girls walking around in pyjama pants. WHY? like i really can't comprehend why you would care so much about what a total stranger chooses to dress in to the point where it actually annoys you.

i mean i think those high-waisted pants that are all the fashion at the moment are the fugliest fucking things i have ever seen but it doesn't ruin my day when i see someone wearing a pair. like i get that you might not like the idea of wearing pyjama pants yourself, but i don't get why it would actually annoy you that other people do.

I hate it...it brings the community down.

How the hell does a person dress bring a community down? I thought it would be the tires in the yards along with the broken down cars and beer cans?

this thread makes me laugh. SERIOUSLy, people?? WTf do you care what other women look like?

Man, I'm just happy if I LEAVE the house to BE productive.

I agree!

^ haha do not get me started on the high waisted short shorts! but hey, if a girl wants to wear them around me, fine, it doesn't bother me and makes my butt and thighs look smaller in comparison! :P

Stop trying to claim that saying for Australia!

I guess I'm in the minority. I don't feel "ready" unless I look halfway decent. I associate my sweatpants & ratty t-shirts with lounging around the house after all my work is done, so I'm really not motivated until I get in clean jeans or something. I can't even get motivated to clean the house if I'm in sweatpants!

As far as hair & makeup when I'm out in public...I don't even like to look at myself when I have no makeup on lol, so I at least have to have some mascara and lipgloss before I feel comfortable, and even then I just don't feel right. Maybe it is insecurity, but it makes me feel better to look presentable in public. And I would never wear dirty clothes out unless I have been painting and need to make a quick run to Lowe's for something.

It's not that I care what ppl wear really, but when I see that in public the first thing that'll pop in my head is ew. Hey, i've had my moments too where I just didn't give a fuck, and i'm sure ppl have thought the same. lol. :D But really who cares, ppl will always think something...it's just the way it is. No big deal.

Lol. I should so wear a Jayne hat to score some tail. Maybe I can meet a fellow Browncoat guy and we will fall in love and do nothing but screw and watch Firefly all day.

I don't understand getting angry at someone who is "dressed down" for the same reasons I don't understand straight guys being homophobic. Shouldn't you be glad because it means less competition and increases your chances of getting laid? You will look better next to them in comparison than if they would doll themselves all up?

Dude if I wore my Jayne hat and got fucked by a Browncoat, I'd be happy.

A lot of women I see have just given up in the looks area (no big surprise to me) and just go around slobbing it up just like the most of us guys. (Yuk.) LOL

I guess it's that I don't even wear sweats around my house. I don't own any. I do like to lounge in pj's, but I can't imagine wearing them out in public, much less with slippers. It takes just as much (or little) effort to put on sweatpants or pajamas as it does a decent pair of capri's and a shirt. Looking presentable doesn't take much time at all. Even a neatly brushed back ponytail only takes 30 seconds.

I don't go out in full makeup and heels every day, but I never look like I've just rolled out of bed and walked out the door. I guess it's just personal preference, but IMO, the effort level is nearly the same. I don't buy it as an excuse.

i mean.. i would be embarrassed to go out in something that had holes or was dirty. or in my slippers!

Me too. Actually I used to dress up all the time - full make-up, hair done, high heels even to go grocery shopping. Then I started dancing LOL. Now I can actually leave my house without make-up.
