Damn. That's what I get for not being anorexic anymore and not getting my tits done.

I could always stop taking my anti-depressants now. You wanna see drama?

Well that would help me lose weight... lol

Yeah. I'm pretty fuckin' lame without meds. At least without these meds. The other ones made me worse.

And I was trying to convince LoneLily to come with me on FRIDAY, Odysseus. You stay away from all things Ladies Night!! Rawr!!!

And I was trying to convince LoneLily to come with me on FRIDAY, Odysseus. You stay away from all things Ladies Night!! Rawr!!!

Thursday? Friday? Whatday? Who? Huh? You think I can keep track of what the hell is going on in that thread while stoned? Yeah right. I can barely do it sober, this thread is out of control.

Of course, if you *want* me to stop posting kitty pics just say so. I thought it was pretty obvious that was nothing more than a weak excuse to post kitty pics.

Seriously, Ody, Friday is for the wimmins. You can have boy's mangina that night, k?

I had assumed he'd need some comfort.

Relax though. Crashing your ladies' night has no appeal for me. If I hear any more sailor talk I'll probably hurl.

On an unrelated note, my band is playing that thursday the 22nd of May in NYC, so anyone who is around the whole week and interested let me know. I'll also post details in the private group.

I demand more kitty pics. And new ones! :-P

Also, the sailor talk will probably be worse on Saturday with .. y'know.. the sailors there. lol

Actually that's probably for the best, I'd get along a lot better with sailors than with those haters at the venue you guys are having ladies' night at.

^^^ Oh hush, I think we've got a resolution in the horizon!

Hope this isn't the dreaded Solution G: "Fuck it, everyone bring something to eat, a few bottles of wine, candles and flashlights, and we'll camp in Central Park."

snoopy
05-13-2008, 06:31 PM
why don't you guys just do a chain restaurant-type? TGIF, Ruby's, etc.

or maybe a chic pizzeria? e.g. John's Pizza, Ray's (Ray's might be too seedy but John's is nice)

sushi's always good but you've got that dietary whachamacallsit(???)

steak is always good.

is the dietary thing herbivores, kosher, allergies or what? and if so, eff 'em! :P c'mon, this is new york for pete's sake! there's bound to be something for everyone and frankly if not, let them eat beforehand.

^^^why i don't like to date vegetarians. you eat what you eat, i eat what i eat, mmkay?

Count me out folks.

It's my fiance's Bday on the 24th and he deserves something nice. Since we're almost to the point of haggling, I'd rather spend the weekend in CT as originally planned.

We'll catch up with you some other time. Have fun.

We've got people traveling from all over the country to come to this thing, so if you're gonna do NYC, you've gotta *do* NYC. Why get something you could get any day of the week back home, ya know?well, my thought of that is it's only one day of your festivities and everyone seems to want something specific. i don't really know (or want to know) the details but you can't please everyone, then no one's happy.

if people want the new york experience, then John's Pizza is a perfect choice. or one of the chic sushi places or wacky/off-beat stand alones, e.g. Ninja.

just trying to help. ;) anyhow imho, it's not the restaurant, it's the company being kept.

Wow-that's nice and tolerant of you.well, it was partly tongue-in-cheek but i feel it's very intolerant of dietary-limited people to force/expect the majority to go wherever just because of their individual needs. for instance, there's some places i'd rather not eat but if my group of friends decide on it, i either eat beforehand and join them or eat something innocuous, e.g. salad or whatever. it's just my opinion that it's not very tolerant of the dietary-limited person to expect the majority to bend to their specific needs.

as for the dating comment, i have tolerated a lot of different issues with different ex's that other people might not/wouldn't. smokers, pets, prejudices, diets, work, religion, etc.

while it's nothing to pat myself on the back on, otoh i don't believe it should be significant issues the other way either, i.e. the expectation that i change myself to fit their patterns/beliefs/etc. it's nice to share but another thing to force/insist on the issue.

but if the group is willing to go to specific places for a few people, then that's up to them. i'm just commenting (at all) because i see jade struggling and she's a friend.

I already posted in the group but I'm not fussed about who comes or we we go to eat.

If we could find somewhere vegan friendly that would be great.... I wouldn't want anybody to feel left out. Besides err this is NYC how hard can it be to find a place that caters to everybody? Every place I have been to eat includes a vegetarian option on the menu.

Making this harder than it has to be.

I'm sorry if this sounds rude, it's not intended to be.

But I honestly think that if you're not joining in this SW event (which, btw, why aren't you?! ) that you shouldn't interject with your opinions. If you're not on the private group, you don't know how much we've discussed this or haven't.

A big part of it is everyone is saying either "Oh, I don't care" which makes it super difficult! I wish I had some options on places to eat but I voted in our poll and that's the best help I can give 'cause I don't know the city at all.

I kind of like Sophia's idea... but that depends on what everyone thinks of the place y'all hit last year. (Sophia - maybe bring this up in the private group?)

The prob is NOT the veggies or kosher people, as LJ said. You aren't even IN the yahoo group are you? I never asked anyone to bend to my needs, in fact I said I would join afterwards for matters of finance, not vegetables. Really, get off your high-I eat anything, damn those weirdos-horse.

I wish I had some options on places to eat but I voted in our poll and that's the best help I can give 'cause I don't know the city at all. no, it's ok. i can take it, i've got my big-girl panties on. :P i'm sorry if i stepped on toes but 1. it's posted in the open, 2. my opinions are inconsequential as i'm not attending (spending the time with the kids).

but i didn't mean to interject/force my opinion at all. because i'm not even going i felt i was just throwing up suggestions to help unclog the situation/deadlock.

totally agreed on the "i don't care" aspect. hence, a big part of what i was saying/doing.

The prob is NOT the veggies or kosher people, as LJ said. You aren't even IN the yahoo group are you? I never asked anyone to bend to my needs, in fact I said I would join afterwards for matters of finance, not vegetables. Really, get off your high-I eat anything, damn those weirdos-horse.i'm sorry, i wasn't even talking about you, rose. honestly. quite frankly, i haven't even been following this thread.

it was PURE coincidence that i even happened upon the few posts by LJ at that time and i was only commenting to help her.

it had NOTHING to do with you, really. i'm really sorry the circumstances seem different to you but really it had zero to do with anyone in particular other than LJ. i was only coming to help a friend who seemed a bit exasperated. otherwise i probably would never have posted in the thread.

no, i'm not in the yahoo group nor do i wish to be. i haven't even voted on this thread. again, it has nothing to do with me other than it happens to be in my locality and LJ's a friend.

i didn't mean to come off as high-horse either. i thought my explanation covered that too. i.e. "you're free to do whatever, and i'm free to do whatever. it doesn't make one better or worst than the other UNLESS one is forcing the equal position onto the other." someone being an omnivore doesn't make them better or worse, conversely for a herbivore or carnivore.

sorry you took my initial comment as an attack. but honestly, i did take your post as an attack on me but now that i understand your position i understand why you did so.

again, i'm sorry for butting in but i'm not sorry for helping LJ.
