Okay, time to start giving Grand Prix photo awards.

Winners get a digital snapshot tool with my notes on how to do cool stuff with it. Just PM me if you want it, because not everybody does software, right? Some of you just want another award for your feature resume. It's all good.

I title the pics and explain why they work because this is high art.

In no particular order we have

Brendita's I Bite Hard, a smiling self-pic head shot where she's subtely biting her lower lip. Another picture of her hot bod, plus biting testimony from her peeps, makes the headshot special. Yeah, you won!

kiarose's Boobie Picture I woulda taken if I hada camra. Oops, sorry, too late, you lose. But... honorable mention of you hand-squooshing your A+ boobs to A-. Semi-cool trick, but damn you are CUTE.

Callyish's Ice Cream Cookie. You guys know where all these pics are, right? The pole trick picture sets this one up. You think, damn, she's GOOD, she doesn't have to do ice cream tricks. But guess what, she has fun with it and that = $MONEY.

The Tempest's Ribcage Lowerboob uses reflect light cleverly. Accidentally, actually; she has no clue what I even mean. So... tomorrow I take out the cropped messy-bed-all-gone pic and explain the details.

Well, this is way too late, But I'd like to make a suggestion to those taking pictures of themselves in ambient light.

If you use non-flash techniques (ambient light only), your color is affected strongly by your surroundings. For example if the pic is taken in a location having lots of greenery, your picture will come out looking somewhat green. This is because the green is reflected (that's why it's green) and the reflected green light will make your look a bit green. Wall color will also affect your photo's color. The biggest common problem I see is using incandescent lightbulbs which are decidedly yellow and make you look yellow (jaundiced).

Solutions: First sunlight is really best, but that can be impractical. A strong flash system is second best. Sunlight or a good flash system will be a lot more neutral -- white -- and your color will be a lot more like what you really are. Without those options, I recommend using something non-yellow, such as the GE Reveal bulbs in place of regular incandescent ones which are close enough to white and are cheap enough, and using plenty of light to swamp out room coloration.

I've been thinking... your tattoo counts even more. I've been on a lot of tattoo tours, but yours is something special. From a distance, it looks like someone with a stepladder trying to manage a stack or books.

Should you choose to enlighten us, you're an instant winner. :)

hahah... you missed the 5-pg 2 month long tattoo thread in pic post through my 4 sessions:P?? oh, ok... here it is!

^^ Interesting design and very well done. But it's hard for me to imagine you want to carry that around for a lifetime. Since I'm not an artsy-type, it's like me telling the same joke for the rest of my lifetime, no matter how funny it was long ago. Of course I'd say that about any tattoo at all. No attempt to dis' your tastes, just to express mine.

i feel the same way about most tattoos as well... as strippers and customers, we all see a LOT of really terrible ink, much of it spur-of-the moment, mostly done very young. I'm 23, I have a very good grasp of who I am, what I want, and who/where I'll be in the future (and what clothing it'll demand ;)). The meaning behind this is pretty transcendent... I don't think that the pursuit of knowledge and the love of learning is ever going to be something that WON't be a part of my life. The tattoo represents both past and present, and I'm sure it'll hold weight in the future as well... tell me this won't be me in law school! :P I do agree with you- it could have been a poor choice if it's applicability hadn't been thoroughly thought through (say that 10x fast) but believe me, it certainly was. ;D

it's even a play on words if you think about it (book 'spines').

CC, I do like the design as meaningful art. But i think I'd rather have it custom-painted on my car or front door to my house. :)

ColetteCalahan
05-15-2008, 02:58 AM
^^ hehe... on the front door you could use the books as a snowfall measurement. :P (i'm from rochester- fond memories...)

well, aren't tattoos supposed to be art? i dunno, it's all based upon preference, but i wouldn't get any ink that i didn't consider to have intrinsic artistic value. to me a good tattoo is the interplay of design and placement... the books look like vertebrae from far away... i always have people asking me to come closer to see what they really are, and it's always a cool reveal. ;) also, on my back, there's the effect of the entire stack leaning as i twist. (i put a LOt of thought into this... putting it on a car wouldn't be the same.)

By cropping Lifting the Shirt, we can place The Tempest's ribs nearer to the center of the photo. The light source is reflecting off the flat rib surface, creating a unique shape we don't often see. The triangle at the top of that shape is the lower half of her boob flattened while lifting the shirt.

Digital cropping is a cheap trick that makes picture whoring more fun. Plus no one sees your unmade bed and prescriptions. :)

My favorite t-shirt is the scrimmage shirt. Surfer girls who dress for access will have a special place in heaven.

More Grand Prix awards: Lysondra for Arched Back. Murdock for The Murdock Twins. Brendita again for Pushed Out. B is on an artistic roll; she has the shooter's touch.

You all know where these pics are. You go looking for them when you wake up in the middle of the night.

One more for Tuesday: Nicolina's Ass. It's her avatar, so it qualified here as a picture. I think Nic wasted her reading period here and took two incompletes. :-\

HOT.

So... how did YOU beat Emerald Dragon? Ruby Dragon? Did you get the materia at the end of the train? Did you make the Ultima Materia?

WHY DO I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT?

Teehee I like boys and ponies.

To beat the Emerald weapon you will need the "underwater materia" because it takes that annoying little time limit meter AWAY! To get this underwater materia you have to go back to Junon, (Army/port town where your sub is usually parked) take the elevator down to the bottom floor, all the way down to the underwater sector. Here is where you encounter an enemy called "Ghost ship", this IS what your looking for. Sometimes it takes a while of stupid random battles to finally get hit BY IT, but once you do you must be careful! You see WAY earlier in the game when you came to Junon you were prolly on like level 20 or so but not that you are 60+ in levels you can KILL IT WITH ONE HIT. K, dont do that because you need him alive. You then need to have as many people possible equipped with the "morph materia", this is what you use to "morph" the "Ghost ship" into something called "Guidebook". On a side notes this stupid fuck can eliminate members of your party with one swipe of his boat oar, but his physical attacks are feeble. Anywho, morph that fuck, get you book and get the hell outta Junon.
Now that you have the "guidebook" you will need to take it to a man called the Kalm traveler, located in - YEP you guessed it KALM TOWN! Once you talk to him, give him the "guidebook" and in exchange you receive you "underwater materia"...

Beating him is very difficult because he is not only lightening fast but does an attack that will basically kill off your whole party in one hit. Only way I can beat him as follows: Have 3 mime materias, one on each person in your party, (leveled up would be a good idea) have your MASTERED Knights of the round equipped and linked with either "revive" or "final attack" this way when your mofo dies he will bring himself back to life, equipping a mastered "W-summon" to the person who has KOTR. Put whatever materia you like, whatever combos you want and let the fun begin. So this weapon gives the chance to go first, what a nice little guy he is huh? Quick as you can cast knights of the Round TWICE, then have your other people mime it. All in all you will be hitting him 6 times with KOTR in one turn! Casting haste and regen helps alot but I prefer to use an enemy skill called "white wind" because it uses less magic and will cure every party member to the amount of HP the caster has.
So yeah thats pretty much how I beat him...all about KOTR

As for the train Materia, I *THINK* its basically worthless if its the one I think it is. Just an extra thing in your key items that make you look important! Haha...

Anyway I am done for now...Next Lesson Ruby weapon!
Tomorrows lesson....Ruby weapon
