Anyone know what the email address is to get you remove from that site?

I just typed in my name and BAM! this fucking thing pulled up a picture of me and my boyfriend, saying he was a relative. A PICTURE OF ME AND MY BOYFRIEND THAT IS ON MYSPACE AND FACEBOOK!! They even printed his name. It is one thing for someone to search my name, but quite another for "known associates" to be listed as well.
It stated my religion and my exact mailing address...thank god its a PO Box. And they did have my birthday wrong by a few months.
I'm pissed!!!

This is creepy. I'd never heard of this before now, and I am freaked out. It says they have 29 "criminal issues" for me. I know I have nothing criminal, but still freaking out what they found. I refuse to pay to see what it is (and it's either wrong info, or confusing me with someone else).

They have nothing. It is all a hustle to sell subscriptions. I looked up my land line phone number and it came up with a fake name I gave Tracphone for a prepaid hobby phone.

They do have a massive database created by the likes of Tracphone and Facebook selling personal information.

Hey maybe it's not such a good idea to be posting links to all these sites. I know people can find them on their own, but I don't see why we should be making it easier by spreading the links around.

^^^ If there's the option of having your info removed, then I think it's worthwhile to post it.

Hmm, it doesn't pull anything up on me. A few years ago there was a site like this, I pitched a huge fit to the company about posting my personal information and made them remove it and give me the names of the places they obtained the information from.

That website is EXACTLY the reason I'm so careful with my personal info these days.

I'm not sure anything can actually be done about it as it's probably all taken from public record. The major downside of our high tech society is everything you do, own, buy, etc, is recorded some place, a place that is public access if you know where to look. I emailed the site, but I doubt it will do any good.

It's always been the case that if someone knew where to look, they could find you. Now, you just need a name and a state at most, and bingo. The personal security risk this makes for law enforcement, women trying to hide from abusive crazy Exs, stalkers, etc is unacceptable.

Here you go folks:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Public records, by law, must be available from the official public records office to anyone who requests them. Our database accurately reflects the underlying public records, and provides them in an online database. Our databases are extracted from public records compiled from existing databases all over the United States. We do not actually create the records; we simply give you the ability to search them.

Peoplefinders.com values your privacy and upon written request, can block your records from being shown in many, but not all, of our search results. To do so, you should contact us by writing a letter giving us your:

First name
Middle initial
Last name
Aliases and A.K.A.'s
Complete current address
Complete former addresses going back 15 years
Date of birth - including month, day, and year

It is also very helpful to include a printout of the records you wish to have suppressed.
Send this letter to:

Opt-Out/Peoplefinders.com
1821 Q Street
Sacramento, CA 95811

** This information will be kept confidential and is used only to ensure the complete suppression of your records. **

Only person in the country with my name, and "54 criminal issues found" -- okaay. They're scamming people to sign up. Interesting that they have my unlisted home phone number.

This looks like a useful site and I am glad y’all have done the research to determine it actually provides legitimate results. A lot of that kind of information used to be available free, but those sites are getting fewer and fewer, and the pay sites often advertize dubious results. I found one, gave it a name that does not exist, and it promised me lots of information for my money. Now the question is, if you buy a lifetime membership, does that mean your lifetime, or the sites (until the site goes out of business)?

The internet is wonderful, you used to have to go to courthouses and libraries and make phone calls to do this type or research.
