Yes, I remember having similar experiences in Providence as well. For a clean dancer do not know how I always ended up in the most extras heavy places.

You only need a license in WPB. Miami sucks. We have been talking about that at length.

Those latinas in Miami clubs who appear to be doing extras (and not all are) know how to hustle... I see some of them in and out of rooms, constantly doing dances, and dragging guys to the ATM all night. I sort of admire them for their hustle and ability to get these difficult ass men to do what they want... and I also get frustrated with whoever is handing out extras(no matter what race) because I will never ever...everevereverever do extras and they make it annoying for me cause I am constantly having to tell guys I'm not a prostitute. I don't judge but I understand the frustration because you pretty much have no chance to convince anyone to do a room cause they were just offered cheap extras from a handful of girls. I still do really well down there and I don't think Miami is impossible but it's definitely more work if you're not IG famous, don't have a BBL, or aren't doing extras.
I also chat with these girls in the dressing room and on the floor. Some are really sweet and I would never want to see them go through what some people are suggesting because they are at the end of the day human beings. We all go through tough times. Your toughest time when your world was falling apart is the same thing as that happening to them just a different situation. Just saying....
Anyway.. I'm looking for a new city to travel to. I wish dancing wasn't so lame/risky lately. The only two places I am open to traveling to right now are Vegas and Miami because of the volume and unlimited potential for hitting your goal. More customers = more wallets = better chances of making money...even if it's just one dance at a time. I would love to take a chance and try a small club somewhere random and bank. It just seems like no one is making a ton anywhere right now.:raincloud
true. miami is a double whammy in that you can't even 'cheat' and do extras to gain an unfair advantage cause pretty much every girl does them. and these latina girls know how to hustle. it's just their vibe, that latina sexy attitude and ruthlessness that makes a girl from europe like me go woah!! i'm copying a lot of tricks but there are certain things i'm not comfortable doing. i have a limit, and a lot of girls don't have one here. hence why customers love it here.

Los angeles for sure, hardest time making money there, cheap dances and too much contact

A city in Wisconsin used to have rules similar to this. Asking a customer to buy you a drink was considered prostitution, so to get around this, you had to ask the guy to buy you a "teddy bear." How lame lol. It was also no nudity and had $10 slow dances-where you slow danced with the guy as if you were in high school. lol Couldn't get even topless either on stage or during slow dances. Needless to say, this place didn't last long.
Which city was this? I wouldn't be surprised if it was Madison. I try to tell folks from here (Indiana) that I'm from a Democrat-led city that only has one club because it's illegal to have more than one, because "sex work dehumanizes women etc" and they don't get it. Actually, on that note, Madison's not a great place to dance tbh. My best friend has been telling me that just about everywhere near Madison girls are coming home with $100-200 tops. Sex work "isn't feminist" back home. I'd actually been looked down on by privileged college kids for dancing for that reason. Apparently Milwaukee is cool tho.
Also, yeah, SW is an international forum and Americans using words like "illegals" and complaining about competing for business with immigrants doesn't make us look good. I've danced with lots of immigrants, documented or otherwise, and the only person who's ever stopped me from making as much money as I want to make is MYSELF. Quit finding bigoted excuses why you're not making as much money as you're capable of.

I don't have experience with what Nyla is speaking of on a personal level as I've never worked in the clubs she talks about, but I've talked to her enough to believe she is a reasonable person and she tries to help newbies like me and hasn't led me astray in all these months.
Her market is probably way different than say the Midwest. I haven't been everywhere in the Midwest but I've tried nebraska/Iowa/Indiana and I don't mean to step on toes but these are markets that are not competitive at all. I think Nyla is speaking of already competitive markets becoming even more competitive with beautiful foreign women that sell themselves far too cheap which I've personally seen. Whether they are illegal or not I don't know. I don't even know that "illegal" is the main point she is trying to drive home except to prepare any newbies like me for example for what I may encounter if I ever venture out to the northeast and start dancing.
That being said there are for sure American girls going the extras route for dirt cheap, but from the sound of it, it's more common with foreigners and that is the harsh reality for just about any industry not just sex work. I'm not trying to knock them, but it's sort of like they never left the mindset they had back in their home country.
For reference, yes, I'm American born but I'm the first one in my family lol.

The cold, hard truth is that racism is alive and well in the sex / beauty industry. We experience it on a customer level, and we experience it in the context of our coworkers. We should always look for counter-examples of stereotypes to avoid confirmation bias, of course. But unfortunately, most of us benefit from an awareness of stereotypes.
For example, I'd love to pretend that all customers are the same, but after years of experience, if I'm on a dancing shift, I'll absolutely gravitate towards certain races, ages, and classes of customers before I'll approach others.
And i do understand some of the controversial statements made in this thread about immigrants, who face different levels of systemic pressures than more privileged dancers, and are thus more likely to push laws and boundaries beyond legal limits.
Let's all appreciate how complicated this issue is and move on gracefully.
Disclaimer: I am tipsy, and i am posting. :D

People who know (including veterans of stripping who post on this forum) called Miami "the home of the $20 BJ" more than two decades ago.
Some regions just are terrible for moneymaking for differing reasons.
IMO extras-laden clubs are a management issue & Immigration has been on "illegals and trafficking" like white on rice for many years. Don't blame a hot new girl for one's inability to make money.
I worked the Northeast back in the mid-2000s and wasn't affected by "Brazilians" or whatever. Just my opinion.

Yes, Madison is very snobby and I've never danced there, but I heard there wasn't much money in stripping there. The club I was talking about was in Oshkosh, WI, which also sucks for stripping. They had 3 strip clubs at one point, but now all of them are gone. lol

Thank you. My money in Louisville, KY was never affected by the Russian population. Also, hey, it's slick to say that they're giving extras because of their disadvantage--but y'all know if we were talking about extras-laden clubs in white-ass places like where I'm from, we would just be callin them hoes. We wouldn't be calling them "illegals". That's my beef. Sorry for getting hotheaded, it's just that my folks are immigrants and it's really scary to suddenly see people feel REALLY EMPOWERED to slur against immigrants now...

Off topic but first gen Russians are in Louisville KY now? That's pretty neat.
Back on topic- I hate hate hate to admit this but in all the "Blue State" metro areas I've worked in tended to have lower earnings due to taxes (was my guess.) It is true less taxes= more pocket money for discretionary spending.

They were in 2011! There was always like a small group of them at PT's and they always spoke in Russian to each other. But Louisville is a community where extras in the club is just straight-up not worth it because ABC keeps everyone on such a tight leash.
And word, I will agree with the taxes thing. I've made quite a bit more in Indiana and Kentucky than I did in Madison, WI. I've heard the same about Seattle as well. I think this is also to do with overall higher cost-of-living in blue state metros or blue metros. Louisville and Indianapolis cost half as much to live in as Madison.

Louisville was pretty lit money-wise. I worked 60hrs/wk and averaged like $20 per hour. I'm kind of a niche stripper and always have been, and I don't hustle very hard. $50 per hour can be accomplished with more work than I'm ever willing to put in. Trouble was, I was dancing so much on the weekends and I was new in town, that I never made any friends outside the club. I was very depressed, suicidal actually, because I had all this money just buying cars, guitars, and whiskey. Louisville's a great city if you already have connections there.

I dunno about Louisville but one thing I noticed about Lexington was a slow hustle. I hate the slow hustle. Plus some of the people in Lexington both in and out of the club just came off really snobby to me. I don't think I could live there.
I liked Indy more than Lexington, people just seemed a lot cooler. I didn't spend a lot of time in any of these places so take what I say as a grain of salt.

Resort town/fancy areas can get really lonely because social circles are so small or predictable.
I made great money in resort towns because I was a "new face" with no baggage & wasn't all about locals drama or getting into trouble there.

I have a lot of friends in Lex but haven't really chilled there much. I prefer Indy to Louisville in terms of snobbishness. Money is honestly better in Louisville and it's a big convention city, but I'm just a lot more comfortable in Indy. People in Indiana don't give a shit about, like, anything. It's a trade-off.

Pittsburgh. Money wasn’t great and I hated cheerleaders, that club the guys would make the dollar into a ball and throw it at u because the stage was behind the bar. Who wants to get pelted with balls all night(this was a long time ago so I don’t know if it’s still like that.) also the cuts were ridiculous I would sell dances all night and felt like I could barely make any money. Then they wanted a schedule, gowns(this club wasn’t even that nice), and you had to work 3 stages. One night, never went back. Also Toledo clubs are dangerous and sketchy, most of the girls and clientele were scary looking. I made a lot of money in Toledo bc there wasn’t much to compete with. Pittsburgh as a city is ok, but Toledo was like hell on earth, if I never see that city again I would be happy. That city makes Detroit look decent.

can defend Vegas here for a sec? idk I was frightened for the moment I even brought up dancing here, all I was told was don't do it. prostitutes. blah blah.
well I'm not an extras girl 4 one. and I make great money. I don't ever have to do anything I don't want to do. and , theres soooo much more available clientele compared to LA! I mean a Vegas 10pm Tuesday usually looks like an LA Saturday at Midnight. I love it. I think it comes from me just having a strong mindset, and being very confident of who I am as a person. I don't talk or barely even look at the other dancers. gotta focus on yourself.
what club in vegas do you work at?

Agree! Would love to know! My bf and I are going back and forth between moving to TX or NV, we are Denver locals and I’ve danced here for almost 2 years. A lot of people say it’s really bad money but those are the girls that sit in the locker room and complain/smoke all night. If you hustle there is money here! Don’t get me wrong I’ve had some shit nights in Denver but more good than bad!
For reference I’m tall, BBL so curvy with large bum, DD breasts, long brown hair, pretty face. I am thicc and my tummy is not completely flat. Hope that helps anyone interested in Denver! It is a hard city to get hired in though:( not having a flat defined tummy has gotten me 2 nos here from diamond and la bo

PORTLAND, OREGON. Yesterday = $22. The day before that = -$3. Yep, you read that right. I do day shift because of my other side hustles and I just found out that the night girls in the club that I made negative $3 in want to switch to the day shifts because nights are even worse?! DA FUCK?
My epiphany the other day was that the club atmosphere here is way too casual. There's no boundaries of respect or being impressed by dancers anymore. These broke chumps want to look for free and can barely even tip their bartenders. Plus it feels like anyone with a vagina who's never danced before thinks they can make easy money doing this. Plus the extras that seem to be the norm now. Girls are doing extras for even LESS. I think I'm going to retire before I get even more cynical.

Yeah Florida is miserable. I worked in daytona, tampa, cocoa beach, orlando, jacksonville, and miami and it was just bad everywhere. Lots of prostitution. If you're okay with giving BJ's for $20 then go ahead and try lol! I found myself doing extras here and there and hating myself for it later bc I was putting myself at way too much risk for not even close to enough money. I had better luck seeing guys outside the clubs and charging an hourly rate. Clubs are pimps now, and I'm not even down to do the extras anymore bc I'm in a relationship. Florida is seriously the worst state I've ever danced in. I moved back to NY for winter HAHAHAHA! That's literally how bad it was. I was working at the best club in daytona and averaging about $65-$130/night. Even tried day shifts, but found myself working 4pm to midnight and leaving with like $100. Working every fucking day. It was literally hell. I lived in Florida for 3 years, so yes. it is really fucking bad. I do way better up here at my regular club in NY than I did at any club in Florida. The only time I made a shit ton of money in one night ($2000- no extras at all) was at Scarlett's in Hallandale Beach, and that was 3 years ago. I just found out that Tootsies bought Scarlett's so they probably will not stay a clean club much longer, seeing how it is full nude with alcohol and Tootsies is a glorified whore house. Plus E11even has taken a lot of their customers, and good luck getting hired at E11even if you aren't tanorexic and plastic.

Portland money depends a lot on what club youre working. You may want to try some downtown clubs. I worked in Portland for a few years and some clubs were truly awful, others had great earning potential, even for day shift. Feel free to PM me if you want any suggestions of where to try.

It's The same as far as Houston minus nudity. That's the reason I would rather not entertain here. Too nasty.
