Naivete does not equal inferior, but people see what they want to see. Doesn't mean they are always right.

Yeah, sure.... Djoser is completely wrong. We love being talked down to like we have the intellect and emotional maturity of a 5 year old. It doesn't mean you think we are inferior or anything, right??? Just naive and uniformed... >:(

Men who do this totally belong on SW. ::)

If that were true, it would be part of my character, and I would have been writing in a demeaning matter in most, if not all, of my posts. I challenge you to find any other **questionable** post of a demeaning manner.

What you will find, is seriousness with some tongue in cheek humor, one liners, etc..

I may be right only most of the time, but this is one of them. ;)

It doesn't matter if you disrespect someone once or many times. It's the same damn thing!

It wasn't even one time. I'm the one who wrote it, I know what the intent was. Someone interpreted it differently. I offered a clarification. People will still believe what they want to believe. Doesn't mean I am wrong.

I only read the OP and not the thread, but I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

Spare yourself, and don't read the rest of the thread.. it's only downhill after that.

I'm pro-choice, pro-porn, pro not abusing children so I totally disagree with everything he said except one thing:

We exploit the poor and call it the lottery.

I don't know about how your state works, but in WI the lottery really disgusts me. The reason for it is rich people aren't the ones piling all their money into little scratch off tickets sponsered by the government and sold at the gas station... I live in an urban area, and everytime I go to the gas station there are obviously poor people standing in line to get to buy twenty dollars worth of lottery tickets, fervently hoping that they will scratch off a winner.

I don't know if you know how the lottery works, but basically they pay out like one third of the money spent on scratch off tickets and big games, like PowerBall etc to winners... the rest of the money goes to the state.

Hey, I am all for gambling, but I just don't think that's a cool way for the state to make money, just because the way I see it around here is so bad. People sitting in shitty old cars with their kids, scratching off ticket after ticket. Ugh.

Oh also, the Indian Casino around here (Potowatomi) cashes welfare checks. That's just....WOW!

Okay, political thread jack over.

She was on at 1:54am today. Yes, I checked her profile! :-[ I think she's a really sweet girl, but she probably got hurt by some of the comments on this thread.

I hope she did! She once said that she would love and accept her children no matter what unless they were gay! She needs to learn that this sort of stuff does not belong here.

Ok, I was a little foggy about the actual quote. It was in a thread about parents accepting their children's partner of a different race, specifically white parents accepting black partners. She said this:

I am not raising my children with that preduduce i i will be happy with whom ever the date as long it is a man. and for my son as long as its a girl.

It's post no. 48 on this page:
http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61516&page=2&highlight=homosexual

I am not trying to start a public lynching, but she said these things. They were glossed over in the thread because people were much more focused on the heated race issues being brought up. But as someone who was kicked out of my home as a teenager simply for being gay, this lit me on fire.

^ I'm sorry you went through that Dottie :(

My husband used to be a conservative, republican, homophobic asshole.. I've always been a ridiculously liberal democrat with gay friend. When I was pregnant he said that he didn't want our child to even watch Will & Grace so that they wouldn't be raised around "gay stuff". I don't want to turn this into a novel, so I'll just say that I worked on him and he is now super liberal and will be volunteering in a booth for atheists at the gay pride parade in Austin this year and he's all for equal rights! He said he doesn't even care if our son ends up gay, he'll still love him the same and treat him the same.

This could probably be a whole other thread.. but I just wanted to say I'm sorry for what you went through and it really pisses me off that gays are treated the way they are by most of society.

We have abused power
And called it politics.

just to go back to the "sermon" isn't this ironic, as he is abusing power that was given to him for the sake of politics?

Wait, you call her "sweetie", but it's in allusion to her naivete, and not meant to be condescending at all? That's the biggest crock of shit I've heard in a long while.

Guys who call women 'sweetie', especially when they have never met them, especially when they are in any kind of disagreement, are most emphatically being condescending, and trying to assert superiority. That attitude has no place on SW--or sure as shit shouldn't...

Eh, it all depends on where you are from I guess.

Around here, EVERYONE calls each other, hun, sweetie, punkin, darlin, sugar, peach, love, lovebug, etc... No malice or condecention implied or intended. Even if you are disagreeing, or ordering coffee, lol.

Subject: This Pastor Has Guts

It seems prayer still upsets some people. Please read....

When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the
Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this
is what they
heard:

"Heavenly Father,
We come before you today
To ask your forgiveness and
To seek your direction and guidance.

We know Your Word says,
"Woe to those who call evil good"
But that is exactly what we have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium
And reversed our values.

We have exploited the poor and
Called it the lottery.

We have rewarded laziness
And called it welfare.

We have killed our unborn
and called it choice.

We have shot abortionists
And called it justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline
Our children and called it
Building self esteem.

We have abused power
And called it politics.

We have coveted our neighbor's
Possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air
With profanity and
Pornography and called it
Freedom of speech and expression.

We have ridiculed the time Honored values of our Forefathers and called
it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God, And know our hearts today; Cleanse us from every
sin And set us free.

Amen!"

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked Out during
the prayer in protest.

In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is
pastor,
logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 Of those calls
responding negatively. The church is now receiving international
requests for copies of this prayer from India , Africa and Korea.

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio Program, "The
Rest of the Story," and received a larger response to this program than
any other he has ever aired.

With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our Nation and
wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called "one
nation under God."

If possible, please pass this prayer on to your friends "If you don't
stand for something, you will fall for anything."

Think about this: If you forward this prayer to everyone On your email
list in less than 30 days it would be heard by The world.

How many people in your address book will not receive This
prayer.....do you have the guts to pass it on?

I just did.

I don't see why you guys are all pissy about this post, seriously it's not that bad.

That reverend was 110% correct, the Senate is about as dirty as the come, and it's not the individual words I am reading, it's the theme and context and message that's more important.

He's correct, ALL politicians ABUSE power and play dirty games. I just wish they would have all stayed and heard it, but their guilt wouldn't allow it.

And before I get my ass reamed for it, I AM pro-choice, and pro adult work, but I look past those 2 little things into the bigger picture.

I play the lottery knowing full well I probably won't win. I spend $5 for a few minutes of scratching...

But hey, odds are better in Aus. I've won more than I lost.

But I am not poor and I still play for the shits of it.
