No no, not that way. I'm sweating bullets here. I chose to purchase an older home without Central Air and this summer, I'm feeling it. It's so hot in my house that when I got out of my 2nd ice cold shower of the day (today I took 3) I was sweating before I could dry off. My hair was dry (I have long thick hair) before I made it outside and I was hot before I had a chance to enjoy the ice cold shower effect.
So... How hot are you right now? Are you as sweaty as I am? I am totally about to dump the dogs at my aunts' house for the summer and move in with the bf who has C/A. But I dont think he'll go for it heh... (he or his roommates.)
Whine with me here!
Sorry love!
I have to say I am NOT complaining, lol!
It's not even in the mid-90's here yet, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!
But then again I am a summer beach bum, I love heat and hate icy and cold.
I won't complain about heat till end of July when it's 119 (with the humidity, actually 103 or so).
I welcome the sweating my ass off, it helps me shed pounds quicker and loose that winter fat I stored.

Portland is persistently chilly. I think we USians could shift fifteen degrees of temperature a few thousand miles to the left and make everyone happy.

Whoooooooo! Ran out to grab sushi for lunch - radio dude says the heat index is 104! Finally started to feel a bit uncomfrotable in the heat, but no sweat yet.
Yr sushi-itz cuked. Oh god. I don't want to go to therapy today in the heat.

i'm hiding inside with the AC, putting off leaving for work. i just started my period (i know i know TMI) and it makes me about 2826Xs more pissed off at the heat/being hot.
i can't stand being hot to begin with.
it's been in the upper 90s all week with the "feels like" temp reaching into the 100s because of the humidity. it won't get "mild" again here till late october/early november and it won't get "cold" till at least december...
and of course, even when it gets "cold" here it usually gets warm again like 3 days later. i've had my AC on at least 1/2 of the christmas' i can remember. last thanksgiving it was in the upper 80s if i remember correctly.
can you tell i'm a little over florida? :P

also, i wanted to add something:
i used to think that wet heat VS dry heat argument was bullshit. like, how everyone goes "but the humidity makes it worse!" living in florida my whole life, i just thought it was an excuse.
well last year my bf and i went to the california dessert for the coachella music festival. i saw on weather.com that it was going to be in the 103-1007 range the whole time we were there. this made me SUPER nervous, since i hate being hot and i'm not a big fan of being stuck outside in it all day.
well let me tell you something. i SWEAR to you that 105 there felt like MAYBE 90 here. my boyfriend and i were both -fine- with the heat the whole time. we kept being like "WTF?! i guess that humidity shit is true" i mean, don't get me wrong, it was hot for sure... but it wasn't oppressive like florida heat.
i'll take 105 there (or anywhere else "dry") over, say, 95 in florida ANY DAY.

I heard the same thing when I ran to Kings to get some lunch. I felt like someone threw a wet wool blank over me and shoved me in a sauna! And to top it all off, my mother-in-law has been with us since Saturday! Thank God I put her on the train home tomorrow morning.
Aren't we supposed to get some nasty thunderstorms late this afternoon?

-goes outside and tries to push some of the air towards Yek... since it's solid enough to swim in right now-

I've heard that too about desert areas but never actually been out there. But 99% chance that I'll trade 107 with a tease of a breeze every five minutes for the stagnant swamp outside.

^confirmed! i remember going to visit jersey in august, and you know that feeling when yr forced to play sports outside on days like yr having? it was like that walking down the street, and i'm just like.....i'm NEVER this hot in new mexico, EVERRRR. and everyone thinks it's some kind of flat, brown, hotter-than-hell rattlesnake hellhole and constantly refer to it as "arizona." lol
p.s. tempest, we got spiders and even los cucaraches, but no mosquitoes. win!

Is it cardio if walking from the bus makes you pant and unable to talk and your heart is beating hard? Or just heat exhaustion? ;D *pant pant* *dies*

Don't you have the great killing creepy crawlies by you? I know AZ is infested with black widows and a good number of scorpions.

Okay, so I just drove my black convertible with black seats with the top down and the thermometer in my car said 97 degrees. I got home from a 10 minute trip and when I went to change clothes, the entire back of my tank top was drenched.. disgusting :(

I knew the original post was going to be about something I wish I was doing .. instead.. I'm rugged up. I'm far from :hot: !!! I want to be sweating bullets (as you put it lol!).
I would much rather a really hot day then the cold. It's much easier for me to cool down than to warm up :) I'm over winter. I want summer!

Serious bad storms last night but the bright side is it looks like this crappy heat wave is over. It's a lot less humid today and the temps are much easier to take.
Looks like Field Day on Friday is a go! Set up those relay races and the 50 yard dash!

Wellllll to update on mah situation... i found out that my issue is a dual issue, the AC unit AND the electric. So, I have to have an electrician out to the house ASAP. In the meantime, I took the dogs to my parents' house, which is hilarious because they've never had animals, and I took me to my bf's house, which is annoying because I dont have keys here so I can't leave and come back. Today it's only 84 wooo so thank god things are better.

Doood.. It's been unbearable here. We've been having a freaking ridiculous heatwave. Yesterday it hit 97, and the day before I think it was 95-96. It's been going on for about 4-5 days now. Today's a little better, it's kind of tolerable at 86. The humidity is what kills me. I hate Summer. I want to skip right to Autumn. And the sad part is it's not even officially Summer yet! Arg.
We've been letting the Kids take their baths in lukewarm water so they can cool off at night, but as soon as they hop out of it, they're hot again.
We'll be getting an additional AC soon without a doubt. The one we have in the Living Room works well, but it doesn't cool the whole house. Bleh.
It's funny because Dan will call from work and ask what's for dinner. I tell him "I don't know.. You tell me.. What are YOU BRINGING home?" Pfft. Like I'm going to cook when it's like 80 degrees in my house. Screw that in the pooper.

Paper said it was 112 yesterday here, kinda felt like it but its a dry heat lol.We use swamp coolers here if the dew point is below 52(somewhere around there).Makes the house 75-78 perfect for me.My garage is at 80 with a cooler as well.Pool water is 78-84 depending how cool the night gets.Don't hate me lol.

PLEASE send some of that to Portland, y'all. I love chilly weather but I'd really like a little bit of summer. I feel silly wearing socks and sweats and wrapping up in a down comforter in JUNE.
I'm currently living in my living room- it's the only room the ac cools down when it gets this hot. I want to get another ac, but I fear the electric bill.

OMG I know. Its like, embarrassingly cold in Oregon. Yesterday I spent the warmest part of the day in a sweater with a sweatshirt over and it wrapped in my quilt. I heard that in the Eug its supposed to actually get close to 80 tomorow, but I don't know about Portland.

When I lived in Seattle, it never really "warmed up" until the middle of July. I remember thinking it was so funny reading the papers saying "Seattle Heat Wave!" when it was over 80 degrees for more than a few days, lol.

It was so hot yesterday when I went to PA for a family bar b-que I nearly threw up from heat exhaustion. Plus I was hungover from a wedding I went to.
My God!:O Hung over and outside in the heat! You deserve a metal for making it to the bar b-que.
Thank God the weather is pretty normal now.
