yes I'm over 21, I went to femme a couple months ago & the boss wasn't hiring at the time. He said he just hired a bunch of mainland tourists that week. I haven't been back since, but I'm willing to give it another try. Where are you working now?

It comes down to who wants what, where. If you're hot enough, they want you....two days or two years. Nice faces make nice money for these clubs. But respect is certainly a key to be respected here.

Anyway after getting scared off from offering Hawaii advice fearing I'd get mobbed for visiting for 3 weeks,(with plans to return thruout the year) I was browsing comments left on http://www.thebestdancers.com which offers travelling dancers places to stay and dance and found a comment from one of the club owners in Honolulu.
Just to affirm that I don't think the owners are so opposed to new faces either......If the girls are then that's no business of mine, typically girls are going to hate on new girls anyway... it's just the nature of the game, but hey it's a dogeatdog....correction (pussy eat pussy) world out there, and it's really between you and your boss, and not any of the catty girls business anyway. What do they know, you could end up outlasting them, or in my case outdancing, outlasting as far as staying on stage the longest and not in the dressing room talking and as far as coming in consecutive days.
Anyway the quote from your manager.....................
A PRAYER FOR THE BEST DANCERS
Dear Janet- Oh high priestess of Nakedness, I have been praying fervently to the stripper Gods to smile upon you favorably once more ;-) Still love ya like the stepchild I never had...;) Ty, Club Owner, Honolulu

ps I've been reading up on that website......sounds too chancy for me, especially Guam........( http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=66224 )and I saw that they took honolulu off of their list,,,so perhaps Ty's mind may have changed since that comment,
but I do know firsthand that he likes drama-free and reliable girls (as do most clubs with good management) and it is best to be open with how long you plan on staying, and/or returning.......
I second Veronica504's comment about looks and personality. Fresh faces are usually welcome esp. it seems on an island 45 miles wide.

I recall Hawaii coming and going on thebestdancers. I've been on that site since my little magical trip to Tokyo years ago. Depending on need/demand they will go back up on the site. Probably when they are way below needed girls. Veronica is brilliant. I am totally unreliable and I STILL got a locker. Muahahahahha!!

It's no where near walking distance to the hostels... they're all up By UH and North shore... 939 is closer to ala moana. Just catch the cab though and make sure you get a hostel in town - not in north shore - and you'll be saving a significant amount than you'd be spending on a hotel / motel. I was going to stay in one by UH and it seemed really nice.
You can take the bus to 939 (say you want to go to wal-mart, which is right across the street from 939 if you need help...) it's a two minute walk from the hostel i was going to stay at to the bus stop and then you can just take a cab back to the hostel. There's a bus that goes directly from that stop to in front of 939. ;D
There are a ton of hostels in waikiki, though. I live on Kalakaua and McCully and am about 10 min. walking from 939. There is a hostel right behind my place which is pretty good. :)

hey all im sayin is that it happens everywhere, most ladies are used to it. its not like this is some hardcore industry where you work with the same people all the time. i do sometimes, but flexiblity is key, if you werent flexiable then you wouldnt be able to do this job right?
i personally cant see why its not okay due to the fact that ,"thats life", but thats good to know how the local gals feel about it ..
In Hawaii, though, we see tourists day in and day out. There is a general dislike of tourists out here, FYI. Aloha Sp[irit seems to exist ONLY in Waikiki, FYI. The local girls hate that some tourist is coming in, taking their money and leaving. It happens to them too much, especially if you run into a girl with local Hawaiian heritage.
You just *dont* work like that in HI. :)

A hostel? There are plenty of people looking for roomies for a few months - check out craigslist. There are also people looking for someone to watch their house for a bit. I'll ask around. :)

aloha ladies!
thanks princessparis for starting this thread! i danced at femmes for almost two years but left last year bcuz i had dramas with one of tai's favorites. im at rockza but it blows. i stopped in again at femmes and it has really gone downhill in the last year. tai got married and one of my girls told me that he lost interest in the club ever xince. dont know if thats the reason but it was so slow the waiters were and on the verge of a mass walkout. they lost the parking lot next to them, too.
for those of you thinking of coming over, the local economy is really bad now. probably not as bad as vegas, but close. locals arent spending money, even the chickenfighters and dealers. the only guys with any spending cash are the military boys and they go to 939 and centerfolds. i never worked at either but i take customers to 939 a lot- they like the show. centerfolds joe is exactly what you expect from a "typcial" club owner- big mustache, fat belly, slick hair. 939 stu is younger and pretty cool. he's dating the hottest japanese blonde girl.
thinking of going to guam but have heard mixed things. anyone have experience?
ps. jazznasty- i dont think the comment was left by the owner of femmes, the name is spelled wrong. (his name is Tai, not Ty)
