I don't really have any money to contribute. I can put together a box with some guy clothes and some cooking gear. Interested? Probably an electric blanket too.

Money would definitely help, but I'm sure that Sinder and her Hubby will appreciate anything at all.

It seems like a good time for all of us to clean out all our closets and kitchen cabinets. A good rule of thumb is that if you haven't used it in a year--you don't need it. Pass it on to them if you can.

Sinder I've got a ton of stuff that was Hunter's when he was teeny. I'll pack that up in the box as well (may actually take a few boxes, but you'll get everything! lol) Don't worry about receiving blankets either, because I have tons that he never even used.

A good idea is to leave us sizes here in the thread. Let us know what size you and your Husband wear for sure!

Yeah leave sizes for your guy Jacket, shirt, pants, and boots. Hat too if so inclined.

Holy crap, a tornado! Wow. I am so glad your cats are alright! Yeah, let us know how best to help and I surely will. I have some really nice shirts (one is Free People) I've never worn that I was thinking of selling on e-bay, but if you let me know your size and it works I'd be happy to send them to you.

honestly thats one of my biggest fears. there have been nasty storms in the area and all i can think of is what if there was a tornado, what about my cats?

i'm so happy your cats are ok.

i am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. you may not be able to see that reason right now but in the future it will all become clear. you will become a stronger person who will be able to deal with ANYTHING that comes your way after dealing with a disaster such as this.

i dunno if you'd like my clothes, its a lot of abercrombie type stuff, but since i just got my boobs done i know a lot of them wont fit me anymore. not sure what size you are either, but the offer is out there if youre interested!

I have a lot of baby clothes that my old roomie left. Most of them brand new with tags, and the rest second hand but clean from second hand stores. I've been holding on to them because I thought someone might need them sometime.

Rhi, if you PM me her addy I'll send them to her.

I'm so sorry you lost everything, but it's great that no one was hurt and you still have your family. I went through the same situation a few years ago and the insurance came through within a few weeks, hopefully you won't have to wait to long. It's a really good thing you weren't home.

OK, so I have a dilemma. If I send a money order in USD, is that OK? I know we are dealing with 2 different currencies here. Will it work or do I have to do something different because of the currencies? Or should I go with concealed cash??:-\ Ahhhh

You all are so amazing. My inbox too is on fire and I am trying to get back to each of you as quickly as possible. Thank you so very much for all of this.

For thise asking about clothing sizes, Hubby is a L-XL shirt/jacket, pants range from 36/30 to 38/30 (he's a shortie!)

Me...well I'm a balloon at this point, my preggo size is a M shirts, L pants. My pre-preggo size was about a 2/3! And yes, I will be there again!

For our Baby Boy to come, any sizes and anything will help!

I am meeting with the insurance company today for estimates on reconstruction. They know I'm due soon, so they are marking us as urgent.

Just wanted to add, that please make sure to include a return address with anything sent s I am big on sending "Thank You" cards!

You are all such an incredible bunch, if I ever win the lottery, I'm flying you all somehwere fun for big party!LOL!

But seriously, you guys are better than Red Cross, and really know what friendship is, even if you have never met face to face with someone. The world can learn alot about humanity if they ever look here.

Each of you hold a special place in our hearts here.

Some good news! Insurance is covering the cost to have the house redone!YAY! I met with the adjuster today for construction quote. She took pics and measurements of the whole place and will have a quote ready next week. From there I can chose a contractor to come in and do the work.

I know the house will not be move in ready in time for the baby, but at least I know we will have a home to come home to.

*Big sigh of relief*

I hope insurance is also paying your rent someplace while you wait for the house to be finished, and also giving you an account to buy clothes and stuff you need.

BTW, check with your utility companies and make sure they are not still billing you for service you are not receiving.

All utility companies have been informed(thanks, I had not thought of that!) We are staying with my Grandparents until things are done. While they are covering for the rebuild and furniture, I haven't heard anything about a clothing fund yet. We were able to save some things and wash/repair, but most was just soaked and ruined beyond help. I will be talking to the adjuster again after the holiday weekend.

I have tons of tee shirts that are L or XL, many more than I need. None are brand new, but all are still wearable. Mostly they are souvenirs of karate tournaments. Would hubby want shirts like that?

We prayed for you at church this morning.

Sinder

Those would be just wonderful. That is very sweet of you to pray for us today.

Everyone here who has stepped up and offered to help, you are all my angels

We have been offered so many different things with care packages, baby items and gift cards, I cannot express enough thanks. I still have people asking what we need specifically, and I honestly cannot think of anything that has not been offered already, but I truely appreciate the asking.

I will say that anything that we recieve (like clothes) that may not fit, or other items we may not need alot of, we will pass along to other families who are in need who have been affected by the storms and are not as fortunate to have such a wonderfully caring circle of friends like you all here. It will be my "pay it forward"...to pass on the love here to others in need. I wish more communities were like you all here. It would make for a wonderful place to live.

Did you mention shoes? I didnt see it...do you need shoes? If so,what sizes and styles?

I'll be sending out a care package this week. Hubby is about your mans size so hes going to go through and see what he can add. I put stuff in from size 1/2 to 7/8. I'm a 5 usually and they are all too small for me...but they might fit you after you pop.

As soon as I can find a box big enough for all this it'll be on the way.

Anything else you want? Something to relax?teas? cookies?stuffed animals for the baby?DVD's ? books?

Let me know before I seal it up!!

Sinder, I am so sorry for this terrible tragedy. I will do anything I can to help! I think we live in the same province maybe...I shudder to think about something like that happening to me. I really feel for you.

This sounds dumb, but I work at Cora's and if you're eating out a lot, and there happens to be a Cora's in the region, I can also send you some gift certificates! It's a lot of fruit and hearty delicious breakfast things. If you like Tim Hortons, I've got a whole box of gift certificates for there too from my mom's work. They are yours if you want them!!

Shes having a boy...but I'm sure shed appreciate any baby stuff thats gender neutral.

Hubby is going to talk to the people at work about donating too..a lot of them have kids so hopefully they'll have baby stuff. And hubby is the same size as Sinders man so he's going through his closet too..I already have a box of my stuff to go out.
Hoping she will not mind giving me her real name as hubby is also going to talk to his boss(the owner of the company) about writing a check to donate as well. She's a sucker for stuff like this..so I'm hoping she'll be able to help.

Really, if it had not been for you all here, everything from words of support to offers of care packages and donations, I would have fell apart with dispair...How can I ever show enough thanks for this, and what can I do in return? OK So I went to Wal-Mart today and got some stuff for you guys. I'm assembling the care package tonight & will send this stuff out to you early in the week. I'll let you know when it is sent and I'll PM you the tracking number.

I'll make sure to include the receipt so that if things don't fit or if it is "not you", you can take it the Walmart near you and exchange it for something you like better. But I did find some cute stuff. I had fun shopping for you !!! (And my kiddo helped too).

I can't wait to send this. I hope you love it!!! :heartbeat:
