You don't have to just dance to rap and r&b. I danced to rock all the time. In fact, I'd have all rock sets sometimes and I still made money. You just have to work it, no matter what kind of music you dance to.
And the slow and sensual made me good money as well. Sometimes a little variety aside from the constant booty shaking is a very good thing. If you exude sex appeal, you'll make money and slow sexy dancing is the epitome of sex to me.

i just got worried cause the club onyx advertised "Playing the Best Hip Hop and R&B".... sometimes i want to listen to a little rock or pop.:-\
And if men don't like slow sensual dancing...then i guess i'll have to find another club!!
I just like diversity...too much of one thing is never good

At My Club, The Weekend Dj Will Not Tolerate A Rock Song Cuz He Knows People Would Start Walking Out.....he Won't Even Do An R&b. And Ms. Roberts I Feel Ya. I Felt Like I Would Be A Sore Thumb Going Up On The Stage Rolling My Hips While Everyone Else Was Doing The Ass Claps So I Practiced. I'm Kinda Forced To Work At A Black Club Now So It Was Either Get With It Or Be Broke For Me. So I Tried And Am Still Trying. It's A Convience Working At An All Black Club Knowing That You Can Make 100 Plus A Set Without Having To Talk To Anyone

I'm in the same boat... Its black club or be broke.
And atleast its a very nice big club, its not in the hood, and i know i can make good money there if i figure out my niche.

I don't always dance the same way on stage and I work at a black club. I can do sensual and ass clapping.
I just won't get tipped as much as the other dancers do. It doesn't affect any other part of my night though. I still sell laps and VIP dances. Stage money is only one part of it. would I like to get rained on every time I get on stage? Of course. I no longer let it bother me though, many guys love the way I dance and they tell me so.
No black club I ever worked at would play rock though- the customers would certainly complain. I guess that is for more open-minded DJs/clubs.

i am really not lookin forward to workin at a black club....
i thought about my dancing being slow and sensual(.... and not uncle luke dancing), i will stick out. But i don't want to stick out like a sore thumb. I'm gettin worried about it hurting more than helping...
and sometimes...i just don't want to dance to fuckin hip hop and r&b....ugh!!!!
Stay for a few days and give it a shot- it may not be as bad as you think in your mind. I doubt people will be pointing and laughing at you. You can always look for somewhere else in the meantime, or switch off so you don't get tired of dancing to hip-hop.

Damn that sucks. I've been able to dance to rock at all of the black clubs I've worked at. Me and another girl who kinda looked alike (we're both very light and that's the end of the resemblance but you know how people are) would do rock sets together and BANK.
Maybe if you want to dance to more rock-ish music, find some R&B or rap that has some nice guitar riffs. That's how I would often start my sets before going full out rock on them. The guys really liked it and I saw a lot of people singing along to the songs.

^^That is a good idea, that may work. In the Carolinas they can be pretty draconian in what gets played in the club. The same songs every week, week after week until something new comes out then that will replace 1 song out of rotation LOL.

I know what you mean about that damn music rotation. Girls find one or two good songs and play them every damn set every damn night. Jeebus Crispies there is other music out there!
I'm down here in NC now and I am seriously considering dancing a night or two a week once the baby is born. I'd like to dance at a black club and I'd like to dance to some rock. I may have to get stern with the DJs down here LOL. Where in the Carolinas are you? Anywhere near Raleigh by any chance?

I wanted to point out that you can do slow and sensual ass movements as well. Figure-eights, slow wiggles, etc emphasize and focus on your ass without requiring changing your dancing style.

I second this. There was a girl at my old club who would dance to a lot of rap/rock combo-type music and bank off of everyone.

I go to Raleigh to shop- let me know if you want to go to the clubs, I'll go with you. I'm still trying to find out where the clubs are in that area.

When I "pop" my ass, I use lower back muscles.
That's exactly how I "pop" my ass. I thrust out my lower back muscles. I practiced in my living room in heels with my camcorder filming my butt. (Yes, I am a little obsessive compulsive) until my butt looked just like the girls on youtube and music videos. Often leaning over and grasping a chair helps at the beginning just to get the foundation of the body position.
Moving your legs "up" slightly adds to the dramatics of the "pop" but this has to be in good coordnation with your back or else it looks funny.
It takes a little practice and "finesse" to get it looking right but soon one can be popping that booty all over the place.

Very true. It doesn't have to be all POP POP CLAP POP CLAP CLAP all the time. Often slower butt movements look more impressive than fast ones because it takes more muscle control and coordnation involved instead of just relying mostly on momentum.

when i pop those lower back muscles the lower back muscles clench and the butt moves up a little but nothing jiggles or looks mesmerizing like the booty popping and clapping i have seen in clubs. i am going to practice. i want to do this, even if just a little.

Your imagery was hilarious! Fuck, if I had a video cam I'd be filming my dancing, too! I want to see all my mistakes over and over until I can be sure to never make them again!
I really wish I could pop my ass really fast. I just can't keep up the rhythm.

I would love to do the same, but I would hate seeing all the ridiculous things I do on stage. Especially when Senor Cuervo is involved.

i want to know what the uncle luke dance is...
is it this????
Hahaha, I wish it was that.
With stripper web, you know you have the wrong video when YouTube doesn't ask for a birth date confirmation.

relax the muscles in the legs all the way up to the booty...the movement comes from the thighs moving in and out and the booty beeing relaxed...dunno if that helps...

I would prefer to work in a white/hispanic club(employed and educated black men). Right on! That's my kinda place. I don't like hood joints. But I do love dancing for my educated black men though.

i can move one at a time with no prob...........just the popping that gets me.....i might actually have it though
I can move them together but i cant move them separately. I tried looking at the youtube clip of the bellydancer's class with the isolation of the glutes but there was no sound or instruction.
Could u explain how u do it

i started on the floor first. basically all you do is squeeze

it pretty simple to understand...most black men love ass and when it shakes and jiggles and bounces that is erotic and sexy to them because they get the image of ramming their big dicks either in the chicks butt or other hole
and when they do thats exactly pretty much how it looks if you really know how to ride your man properly im pretty sure you make it shake or bounce at one point or another
They just like the visual
dont know if that was good enough of an explanation but its fact
Aha. That makes total sense. :hypnotize

Plus, do you understand the skill and muscle control that takes?!
That's no joke. I can't even squat down and get back up like that bc I don't have the strength in my legs! It takes strength/skill to shake it like that! I still don't have it down. Even though I'm white with not much of an ass, I like to vary my moves. I'm getting good on the pole and floor work, but I am still trying to learn to make my ass pop like that just because I want to be able to do it! I just don't know if I'm built right for it. I don't have that much of an arch in my back, and my ass is fairly flat. :(

practicing in front of a mirror is facts! I learned how to do one cheek at a time that way. Now I feel like my butt keeps it's shape bc I do it so often :P
