i dont think that not liking something makes you necessarily insecure about it. maybe thats just my opinion. like.. i like to go tanning, but i'm not insecure when i'm pale. i wanted bigger boobs, but i wasnt insecure about them. there are certainly things im insecure about, like having wide hips. i hate it and i think it makes me look fat no matter how skinny i actually am. i just think theres a difference in wanting to change something and being insecure. i dunno, just how i see it.
kinda like.. i like how i look better with makeup on. but im not insecure about going out in public without makeup. does that make sense?
you cant compare getting a tan to getting a major operation which you plan on keeping up for life though...
you can compare getting a tan or wearing makeup to wearing a pushup bra, but to breast implants...thats apples and oranges.

not really...at the core its still all about changing your appearance. More extreme yes,but the purpose is the same

I think its a hard thing to understand unless your a chick. There is just something about having fuller, rounder, big juicy boobs. Natural breasts are great, some women don't need to change a thing, allthough they may want too
just to get more oommphff. :) I don't have a boob job yet,
but I have been reasearching it for a long time.

haha, thank you.
i was making a point about insecurities vs simply wanting a change or to better yourself. plastic surgery may be permanent, whereas tanning isnt, but yeah, that wasn't even close to my point and doesnt matter to the point i was trying to make.

Can you compare it to tattoos? That's another seemingly extreme and permanent body modification that women get all the time. Would I be considered "insecure" about my arms since I have lots of ink imbedded into them to change the appearance of my skin? Probably not. Why are implants any different?
I'm really into tattoos and sometimes I feel like I walked into getting my boob job with the same mentality. Sure, there's nothing "wrong" with my body as is but as long as I'm able to modify or change it specifically to my liking, why wouldn't I?

I don't care one way or another if a dancer has enhancements. Anything that makes her feel more conficent will make her more enjoyable to watch.
But while we are on the subject of enhancements.......
A year or so one of the local newspapers was running an ad for male enhancement. The ad read : "Penis Enlargement: For Males Only." I always wondered who else they thought would want the procedure?::)

You should really leave it to her, some girls want it for different reasons. it just the choice we have.
like for myself its to balance out my breast and that i can actually enjoy who i see in the mirror. many people tell me not too but i have to live with myself.

Um yes it does. You have to truly despise something about yourself in order to want to change it PERMANENTLY. if you think something aint broke, why fix it? The only reason would be because you are unhappy with it. If you were, there would be no reason to change it for so long term. Again, it's not like playing dress up. I dont know what other way to dumb it down for you so you can understand what I am trying to say, but there is a huge difference between changing something for a short amount of time for fun and changing something for 10 years-life. if youre changing it for that long is because you prefer having the change to not having it- thus you are unhappy with how you looked before the change

No...because tattoos dont change the arms. and getting a tattoo is not the same thing as altering a body part to try to make it look like how some people have it naturally. its not like there are people out there who were born with tattoos on them, like there are people out there with perfect noses or big round boobs. again, apples and oranges

Hehe, whatev's. I so rarely say this but, you are such a hater, yo. Who cares what anyone does to change his/her body. Medical science has provided us with the resources and capability to modify and shape ourselves as we see fit.
Quit hatin', hater.

stop talking. i certainly did not "despise" anything about myself before and i don't "despise" anything now. please, though, next time you want to pretend you can read my mind, can it be about something useful? don't tell ME why I chose to do something with MY body. kthx.

1. gain self confidence
2. make your body proportional with other curvy areas
3. get more money
A LOT of great boob jobs look real, mine do, and guys can never tell... i personally got mine cause i have a big ass and also look very young. and i thought i d get more money theee end
but to msonyx-- i didn't DESPISE anything... its like oh wow, i drive a ferrari, i can afford ferrari rims, but i didn't DESPISE the wheels that came on it stock

Yep me too(the big ass not the looking too young thing. I dont look my age, but I dont look like a kid either!). I liked my boobs just fine, but they didnt match the rest of my body and made me look disproportionate. Which also made buying clothes, esp dresses and the like, a NIGHTMARE since I was a totally different size up top then I was on the bottom.

wow such anger, I must have hit a nerve
seriously, we are all insecure about SOMETHING. i find it odd when people get so insecure about being insecure though...ill admit i hate my nose...now you admit you hated your boobs...its nothing to be ashamed of. not all of us were born with perfect bodies and thats why some people chose to change it...

Just pointing out - the fact that you have irritated someone doesn't mean that you have hit on something true or accurate.
I am personally suspicious of cosmetic surgery; that doesn't mean that I am looking down individuals that get it. The more extreme the surgery, the more I am suspicious. It seems like a questionable decision to me to go under anesthetic and cut open your body to make it prettier. It seems more questionable when it is for the kind of amorphous reason "For Myself" - I mean, at least if you are doing it to make more money there is a quantifiable reward. These women who do it just to "feel better" and "not for a man" but for some indefinable voyeur that apparently exists in their bodies makes me nervous; like "Big Brother Is In Your Head and We Call Him Advertising and Beauty Standards". I think that is a difference between tattoos as well. Tattoos are not about this conglomerate of beauty standard.

Now everyone. We are going to be nice and respectful to each other if it kills us. Or at least all of you. People have different opinions and we can respect them - or at least pretend to.
So the past is now the past and we are moving forward and we will not belittle each other.

Wait wait wait...jealousy that some girl felt the need to cut open her body because she thinsk she looks prettier with fake boobs? what exactly is there to be jealous of? if i wanted fake boobs i have several doctors here in the city to chose from. Again, I'd like to know why anyone would be jealous of something so easily attainable.
Now if she had beautiful perky natural boobs, then you might say one could be jealous of her natural beauty...but boobs you can easily buy? Really? Yeah I totally envy girls who look so bad naturally that they had to go get plastic surgery to fix it. I so wish I felt as deformed too! come on...

Ladies; I'm afraid I must insist that we all remain friends, despite our strong feelings on cosmetic surgery.
If we cannot discuss our feelings without deriding each other... then we should all go over to blue and discuss it there.
Okay I'm kidding. Sort of. But seriously. Next time - no matter what direction it comes from - there will be points.

Breast implants are very fashionable too. Some girls just like them because they have become accustomed to them from magazines, movies, porn, Maxim, and lots of women who choose to get them aren't even dancers..lots of girls get them for high school graduation presents. Most of the sexy models and actresses nowadays have breast implants as compared to the Cindy Crawfords and Christie Brinkleys from back in the day. Never underestimate the power of advertising!
But there are other reasons too. I don't think I could ever do it though. Surgery really scares me:eek: Going under, cutting, blood, knives, sharp things!! I can't even get a shot without whining about it for days so I don't know how I'd survive recovery. Plus other reasons like what if something went wrong, I don't like the idea of something unnatural inside of my body (I am a health nut), I run alot and I wouldn't want anything to hinder that, plus it's a lot of money. But I really like my natural breasts but some girls don't so it's nice they have that option for themselves. If a girl can access all that and think the risks are worth it then more power to her..I've seen many girls very happy with their decision.

I have nothing against boob jobs. But I personally like it all natural. everyone has the vices and etc. one person may like big and fack. and others like them all natural. My question why get them enlarged then turn around years later and get a breast reduction. In the long run I feel they should of saved the money. Plus I hear breast reduction is alot more painful then enlargements.

Natural boobs sag, with weight loss and gain - a woman's boobs are the first thing to increase and decrease. Because all a natural boob is - is fat. Do you have any idea how hard it is to purchase clothes because you've lost or gained a few pounds in your chest? That's a royal pain in the ass.
Not only do augmented breasts stay the same, those puppies will point to the sun forever. Just that alone made me get mine done.

I'm getting a boob job as soon as I have enough saved up comfortably for it. I'm not insecure, I don't care one way or the other about my boobs - and I want to. I want to love my boobs, not just the "eh, here they are" attitude I've got about them now.

That sounds exactly like me...but I had mine done last year...I got them done for myself, and surprisingly I make the same amount of money with the boobs compared to without.
It might make her feel more confident or complete her hourglass figure in her eyes.

I've held off on commenting to this point, but here goes ...
As dancers, breast augmentation can have a lot of impact on the 'business' side of things
A. in many 'high volume, fast turnover' club situations, 1/2 of the 'sale' is based on one girl attracting the favorable attention of a customer before other girls do. From that standpoint, good sized breast implants help provide a dancer the ability to be noticed by customers from across the room !
B. One reason that customers come to strip clubs is to find / experience something that they cannot find 'at home'. While many different dancer attributes fit this description, good sized breast implants is well up the list.
C. Increasingly, many customers are making a mental linkage between the appearance of 'porn girls' and the appearance of dancers they are willing to spend money on (goes along with the whole increasing expectation of 'extras' change in the strip club business model issue). Obviously, the vast majority of 'porn girls' have breast implants
D. getting good sized breast implants usually also produces positive secondary effects for dancers ... i.e. an increase in confidence, an increase in overall 'sexy' image etc. ... which also help her 'sales' effectiveness.
yes there are certainly clubs where good sized breast implants may actually hurt a dancer's 'sales' effectiveness. There are other clubs where good sized breast implants won't hurt or help a dancer's 'sales' effectiveness. However, there are definitely some clubs where good sized breast implants will greatly help a dancer's 'sales' effectiveness. And arguably the latter are clubs that also offer high dancer earnings potential !!!
One caveat though ... BAD boob jobs can do more harm than good !

Melonie,
Good point as always and it made me think, considering my experience with BA's. As my first one had some serious issues. Plus, I've seen HUNDREDS of breast jobs that made me think.. " You PAID for that?"
Girls coming back to work to early, like one little girl now - she JUST had her surgery and came back to work TWO WEEKS after. Man..
There are also clubs that wont hire girls because of breast size. It's an awful thing but true. That's why I always emphasis doing proper research and will send anyone that wishes to my doctor. :P
