Am I the only one who wears it without rinsing off when I go to work? I love the super dark look of it.

Even if it is a while after I apply it, I would be afraid of staining a guys clothes (or my dance clothes!) with it. Sometimes get a tiny bit sweaty, or do a lot of friction.... Even though I love that super bronzed look- don't think its worth it!

Question: I don't apply this lotion to my hands or feet, because it makes them look splotchy and orange. So, I look beautifully bronze with stark white feet and hands. Lol!! Help!!! I have tried mixing it with a little moisturizer, and find it still comes out splotchy. :-\

I got some at Ulta too but didn't take the glove idea seriously.. my hands stained really bad. Luckily I was able to get it off with a loofah and 10 minutes of scrubbing. What kind of gloves does everyone else use?

^I just use regular medical-type disposable gloves. Non-latex, though, because I'm sensitive to it.

I use regular aerosol spray tanner on my hands and feet and wipe around my cuticles with a baby wipe.

^^What I do for the feet and it looks great: when I'm doing my legs I do a few strokes down onto my feet. After I get done with my legs I slather lotion on my hands and rub all over the tops of my feet.

Also, I strongly recommend scrubbing your hands and nails several times during the process. I do legs, scrub, front and back, scrub, arms, scrub, hands. It's a bitch but my hands don't get brown.

Found another place for small sizes of this

Here's the 8 oz:

http://www.discountbeautycenter.com/Skin-Care/Sun-Care/Sun-Ultra-Dark-Self-Tanning-Lotion-33170.htm

I don't know what shipping charges are, however.
I think Dottie's link may still be cheaper in the long run. But thought I 'd mention it anyway.

Lookingtan is just awesome. They ship super fast. I accidentally ordered a bunch of the wrong stuff last time and they switched it out no problem.

Used gloves this time because my hands are STILL stained 4 days after applying the stuff, even after major scrubbing. Found it even more difficult to blend with the gloves on though.

I love this product, seriously---when it's good and dried I look like a bronze goddess---but I've found that the application process is a real bitch. It just doesn't blend well and looks streaky until it's dried hours later. I feel like I'm doing something wrong...

try putting gloves on your hands and then appply it with a large powder sponge. that is the proffesional one.

It doesn't matter if it's streaky when you put it on. When you take a shower, it should look like a normal tan. Does it look streaky even after you bathe?

AHH...I was working outside in the yard today and sweating like crazy since it's Africa hot and humid today...I rubbed under my boob and the tan RUBBED OFF. Like totally...I have a bright white streak under one boob!! So be careful of that...otherwise yeah..I'm tanner then I have been in years so I'll keep using it

And I apply with my hands, then scrub twice with St Ives Apricot scrub...my palms are fine, no stains

No, it doesn't look streaky after I shower but when I layer it on again over the fading tan I applied days before, the parts that are lighter from the fading/blotching (due to time) don't match up in color to the rest of my body. So it still looks blotchy and streaky.

Yeah that's pretty normal. Try to exfoliate a little between applications.

Will do. :)

Any recommendations? All I can find online are the little foundation sponges--waaay too small for use to apply all over the body.

hmm. so the first time i put it on, its great. and then if i wait a week or so before reapplying, it's fine. but i tried putting it on 2 days apart and i didnt think it was very natural looking at all. people could tell it was fake, too. a girl at work asked if i spray tanned. but when i put on the first application in 2 weeks, everyone thought i was super tan from a bed or the sun.

Has anyone ever used one of these?
http://www.tanforless.com/Backhand-Lotion-Applicator-p-1458.html
It's supposed to help you apply the tanner to your back. Do these things work? Or are they difficult to use?

I just want to testify that I have seen Laylalust in person with the tan and it is honestly the best fake tan I've ever seen. She looks like she's been at the beach. I think I shall order some too. :)

I have one. It's awesome and pretty essential unless you have someone helping you get your back.

Weee! I love this stuff sooo much! Now that I've got the gloves and the big makeup sponge to apply it I've had no problems. New addiction!! And sooo much cheaper than spray tans. ;D

Can someone fill me in on what type of sponge this is?

I've loved this stuff for a long time and VS's posts about it inspired me to order it again. This is definitely the most effective self tanner on the market. I used gloves to apply and didn't have that much trouble blending. I may pick up a sponge to see if it helps, but I'm worried about it soaking up a lot of product like makeup sponges. I didn't have a problem using just gloves.

ExoticEngineer

The gloves work pretty well, but it doesn't blend very smoothly in some spots. So I think I might try a sponge....buuuuuut, I'm not sure what kind of sponge to get...surely not just a little make-up sponge. Right?

Ya, could someone who has the sponge maybe post a picture so we can see what you mean? I've never seen a big sponge like you're talking about either. Also, do you pat it on with the sponge or rub it?
Thanks!!

A velour powder sponge, like a 3 or 4 inch one.

Kaiyla

Naw, the bottle is brand new. I have no clue why it's beading up like this.

ExoticEngineer
08-28-2008, 08:59 AM
Is it happening before or after you rinse it off? Could it be lint from a towel if you showered before you put it on?

AlexxaHex
08-29-2008, 09:02 AM
Sounds like you may have used lotion or a super-moisturizing body wash before applying it?

Emily
08-29-2008, 10:48 AM
Did you read my post about that earlier in the thread?

It's probably dead skin balling up with tanner.

britt244
08-29-2008, 12:48 PM
^ yup i would say thats it. that happened to me when my skin was extra dry after my ba. i had to rinse off and wait a few days before i tried again bc the meds dried me out so bad.

Kaiyla
09-05-2008, 09:42 PM
ah, I love it! As soon as I took a shower those beady things washed right off leaving a very even tan. I am buying a HUGE bottle of this stuff.
Feet look a little blotchy, but aside from that, I think this stuff is the best self tanner I have ever used. Thanks Viola;)

So what would you guys say is the best exfoliator to use prior to using Sun Labs?

ViolaStrings
09-12-2008, 10:18 PM
So... I'm a traitor but lately I've been using this norweigan or swedish self tanning foam, and I like it a lot better. It doesn't get you as dark immediately, but it has the same results after two applications.

golden41
09-13-2008, 01:19 AM
does foam rub in easier? where did u find it please?

ViolaStrings

^ way easier

It's called Lumene Sun Magic

dangerousdiva
09-13-2008, 11:04 AM
