I know we might all agree it's pretty, but will your run of the mill strip club customer agree? Keep it mind that men and women feel very differently about what makes a beautiful woman.
Yep. This site consists of a largely hip, young, internet savvy group of people. Unless you're working near a college or a "groovy" area like NYC's Lower East Side, Portland, Austin and other such locales, the response to dreads might be a little more reserved.
It's already been mentioned that guys are shallow. But it's our job to appeal to that shallowness.
In all honesty, the gal that posted the question will soon find out just how Kentucky will take to her particular hairstyle. She'll either do amazingly great or hover in a stripper-limbo always wondering what it could be like to make the serious cash...... consistently.
Best of Luck.
Mother Africa? I need to not log into this site anymore.
Yep. As a woman of color who has attempted to wear my hair naturally in two strand twists which are very similar to dredlocks..... that was one of the many comments I got. Sad but true. There is no respect for natural nubian beauty in this industry.

I'm uncertain about that. I'd say, respect for nubian beauties in this industry greatly depends on the club and the location. However, Southern CA is one of the the worst places for hot looking black women to dance especially if she has talent. In other states, I've seen hot looking black women wear long thin braids and do very well.
I figure, if a white girl can wear a mohawk (that's the last hairstyle I'd think of when picturing a stripper) or if another can keep her hair shorter than Peewee Herman's and still hit VIP, then apparently there's something out there for everyone no matter how many shallow customers frequent strip clubs. Go with the flow and see how it works for you. If your dreadlocks allow you to make money, don't change a thing. But if wearing a wig allows you to make even more money, go for it.

MysteriousMisty deserves applause for that post. You are spot on.;D
I've seen the most ridiculous hairstlyes worn on dancers of all backgrounds. From those Fredericks curly fake wigs that go past your ass to rats nests. Either many guys don't care or they just ignore it.
Wear your hair how you like, just have a backup plan or 'backup 'do'.

SOME guys don't care. Most of them care a great deal. They are in the club looking for a fantasy girl, or the closest thing the club can offer to it. Most guys' fantasy girls are not sporting mohawks.
Take a beautiful woman with a reasonably good selling personality, give her a mohawk for a week, and then give her back a full head of flowing hair, and compare the difference. I know who would come out ahead (no pun intended) in all but the most 'out there' clubs. I love mohawks on beautiful women, mind you.
Take a woman of average appearance and do the same, the difference will be even greater.
The woman that can sell bridges and real estate on Mars might bank with a totally shaved head, but even that might be pushing it. I actually walked in a club to start the nightshift where I was head DJ and saw a totally bald woman onstage. She looked horrible, like some kind of freak show, it was fucking embarrassing. She had a wig but wanted to try dancing without it. No one was tipping her or even close to the stage. I don't normally try to tell junior DJs what to do except no singing on the mike, but I told him never to put her up like that again.

I'd also like to add that 80% of my dreads are not in natural hair colors. I DID work with one girl with natural dreads. She did a tad better than I did. But honestly? Where I tend to work has a lot of old, white guys. They kinda look weird at it around here.
