Does any alcohol really taste good?
Not really, IMO, but the cheaper stuff gives me one wicked hangover.

Really, what ARE you drinking?
Disaronno
Blue Curacao
Black House
Razzmatazz
Chambord
Bailey's
Kahlua
A few of my favorites, but could go on.
Disaronno being the all time favorite.

I will have to give them a try! Preferably when a customer is paying. ;)

This thread is cracking me up.....my mother in law saves every little thing......plastic bags, tin foil, paper plates....tons of stuff! Not for the environment but for money reasons....she grew up during the depression.....old habits die hard I guess! ::)

This may be cheap, but it's adorable rather than annoying. One of my friends sometimes buys cheap off-brand vodka, and runs it through a Brita water filter five times. Amazingly, it does taste like a half-decent vodka after all that!

^wow, that is amazingly cheap. i doubt it's cost-effective, though. think about all the new brita filters you'd have to get from all of that filtering.

the thing that pisses me off about super cheap people is that they will usually be cheap over the most retarded things, but then go buy like a brand new ford or something which will depreciate 10k in a year, but brag about how they saved a couple hundred bucks at the dealership.

OH yeah..the friend I talked about before who would take their wine back that they brought to party and pester you to clean off the plate they brought cookie on or whatever so they can take it home RIGHT THEN...a cheap dollar store plastic plate BTW....any sane person would just say keep it or toss it or whatever. NOT HAVE to take it righ then when they leave.
He bragged all night about this expensive car he bought. Onthe 4th of July when every one was setting off firework in the street...as we DO on the 4th here...he was running around saying"dont get nay on my expensive car...dont get any on my car" Untilhubby commented that what wa he worried about..it wa the cheapest lowest end version of the car anyway.(he was getting irritated at him by that point)
He ws all mopey the rest of the night. Everyone else thought it was funny!
Now every 4th when friends come over that were at that party(cheapos have since moved away) its a huge running joke that we run around going "not on my car...not on my bike....not on my shoe..."

My parents always sneak in their own popcorn, drinks, and candy to the movie theater. Seeing my mom carrying that giant purse cracks me up!!

My mom used to do that when we were kids too! Can hardly blame anyone esp now though...$20 to get in for 2 people and then $20 for a small popcorn, soda and one candy. Come ON.And the one theatre we go to is all self serve. They give you an empty bag and cup and you have to go get the popcorn and soda yourself. Though they DO give you a free movie ticket for buying that $20 combo so...not too bad there!

i can't remember where exactly i read these two stories but here they are from my memory:
1) an elderly couple whom every time they went to the bank collected the free lollipop. they saved up all the lollipops from the entire year of trips to the bank to hand out at halloween so they wouldn't have to buy candy for the trick-or-treaters at the door.
2) another couple loaded their suitcases with cans of tuna, packets of applesauce, and crackers so they wouldn't have to pay for any of the food while they were on a CRUISE SHIP vacation.
hahahahahaha, awesome

That's cool w/the movie ticket. It kind of amazes me that there are no "frequent flier" passes for the movies! Even a buy 10 tickets get a free popcorn or something, sheesh. Not surprised tho. In fact I read that going to the movies is an at all time high, due to our present economy cuz it's cheaper than a concert.
My bf's parents are 70. He stacks up all the leftover soap bits from Ivory soap in the shower, until it's one giant tower "out of habit" he says. hehe

When I was 11, my grandparents took us to Disney World.
In the ticket line, my Grandpa was telling me "Say you're 7. Say you're 7." I had a full C cup. If you look at a picture of me when I was 11, I look the same exact way I do today, by anyone's account. Not to mention, 11 y/o's are mighty embarrassed if they have to pretend they are 7. Ahwell, that's Depression-era ppl for ya!
Yep, my grandma keeps the A/C on 79 in the summer and the heat on 68 in the winter. I am in the back portion of the house where her and my grandfather added vents in last. It's four degrees difference on this side of the house. So it's 83 back here in the summer and 64 in the winter.
Then when I wanted to give my gf a plant for her b-day she suggested I take one out of the house to her.
She also doesn't throw away the boxes or containers they give you for leftovers at the restaurant, she washes and reuses them.

I totally do that, with the drinks and candy!
Giant bottle of water: $1.50
Candy: $1.50
That's three dollars versus like...ten! Best savings EVER.
But I still buy movie popcorn. I swear, that'll be my last meal.
