If there is a better way to handle this, I'll gladly take suggestions.
Offer her a drink and if she spends some time when you turn her down give her a tip.

^^^ And spend the money that I have budgeted for LDs or VIP with my favorite dancer? If my favorite dancer is on stage, I may get approached by several dancers that I don't want dances from. That could costs me a few LDs from my favorite dancer.
How much do you tip a dancer for just sitting with you for 10 - 15 minutes (after you've already bought her an $8+tip drink)?

Just sitting; no HJ under my over-sized shirt? The + tip is $5. I don't do private dances as thy are not cost effective as some Pimp is getting a big cut; plus I get carried away and over tip because of the little head theory.
The Pimp and dancer know this that is why they both lust after private dances; the City of Newark knows this and protects PLs by outlawing private dances.

What takes all the BS out of it is to put a Ben on the table and see who says "Hi" from under the table cloth.

Ben? Jackson and a drink gets one a HJ at the better clubs. A covered blow job is $50.

I usually hit the clubs when I'm in town for a heavy metal or punk show anyway so I like going to the club and hearing loud music! It gets me pumped for the show. I'm in a positive mood and ready to rock so I try and give as many dancers as possible a few dances and spread the wealth around. They are all sweethearts and hard workers and I try to help em out and buy a few dances.

Around here, BJs cost a min of $300 at an upscale club (hot chick), and $100 at a sleazy nasty place that you'd rather not go to.
How hot is the girl giving the $50 BJ?

It varies from 4s to 6s a few better looking not many; it is covered and one better pop in one song. $300 an hour escorts are now offering 20 minutes uncovered oral only for $100.
The North East has been hit hard by the economy.

It takes a Ben just to get a HJ with some of them. It is so exciting to feel them and suck boob while they give u HJ. Its like I become some kind of animal.

This discussion is interesting...
I'm a "once every 3-4 years" strip club customer. The last time I went, I paid for three lap dances, and they were WELL worth it. I have a friend who's had stripper girlfriends in the past who told me he couldn't understand why anybody ever goes to a club, and he especially couldn't understand someone who went but didn't buy a dance. In all my previous 20-25 (in my youth, I went more often :-) times in a club, I was a person who was polite and who tipped, but who never considered a private dance. It just seemed I got more bang for the buck hanging out and slowly watching my money disappear. One lap dance changed that, and the next time I go, I plan to partake once again.
The thing that's amazing, per this forum, is how dancers expect a guy to buy a dance, and if they say "no thanks" it's an insult, or a rejection, or "I don't think you're hot/my type". In the past I have politely turned down dances NOT as any kind of rejection, but merely to be able to stay longer and tip more women who are onstage. I have turned down numerous women I thought were smoking in order to be able to stay longer.
Sooo...don't assume everybody knows the game. I have always thought I was the ideal customer...tipping constantly...as I have observed many who don't tip at all...but instead I am some kind of cheapskate because I haven't bought private dances (in the past)?
Yes, one time a dancer asked me to buy her a drink, and I actually thought it was because she liked me. Dumb, I realize in hindsight.
The ONLY time I feel I actually made a "connection" in a club was when I complimented a dancer who was more full-figured than the rest, and she told me her "real" name and when she was performing. She also offered a dance, and I reluctantly turned her down...so I could stay and enjoy her longer. Sure, some dancers would laugh at me for this, but I feel this ONE dancer actually liked me. Everyone else left her stage when she came on, which is when I really feel for a dancer. Sometimes it's because they go through the motions, and sometimes it's because they're ugly, but more often, it's because they're unique and offer something other than the standard stripper fare.
Stripper shit? Probably, but I'd like to believe otherwise.

Good call. His TUSCL id finally gave it away for me.
Play on player.
I wonder if all the old posts he is bumping go back to the time of Derek's passing?

I don't tune them out, dancers are goddesses to me and I love spending my money on them ;D
If a random girl walked up to me and said that, I'd probably be put off and avoid her.
In a strip club, I might not trust that it was a joke and worry about how clean she was.
However, blowjobs are awesome.
Still, I've never gotten one at a club.

Better yet, are the guys who may not want me that night, but next time their ATF isn't there and he thinks "She was polite last time I declined her, so let me try her this time"...
You never know!
Does any of that makes sense? The point is - the more times dancers and custys are polite and take just a few seconds to exchange common pleasantries, the better time overall everyone has! It isn't a time waste to spend an extra 10 seconds with an extra sentence or two :)
I don't think you are getting the context from the customer's perspective. He isn't exchanging a one off pleasantry with Maddie. He's an experience where is trying to watch, drink, unwind... and being constantly interrupted by aggressive advertising. Think about those websites loaded with flash ads that hit you with full page ads you have to look at for 20 seconds before you can read the page you wanted. Even if you would otherwise be interested in buying that product sometime in the future, most likely you aren't happy about the ad.
There are a whole bunch of threads here about the importance of getting the attention of every customer, and from an earning perspective, my guess is they are absolutely right. But what maximizes your hourly earnings is often not what maximizes the customer's sense of enjoyment. Google is less effective than small ads to the side is less effective than banner ads is less effective than popuos is less effective than splash screens but at the same time less effective correlates pretty strongly with less annoying.
So if you are thinking of this from the customer's perspective. Lets say he is in the his first 45 minutes when he mainly wants to have his first drink, watch the stage, maybe do a little dollar parade touching... but isn't ready to start a one on one with a dancer. And you are 18th dancer that wants to do her short sales pitch.... It's not pleasant it is just annoying.
I think your idea of saying something other than "hi I'm Maddie" is a great one. "Do you want a blowjob" is great but so is "you wanna to watch Batman together"? Because that makes you Batman girl #1 rather than "wanna dance" girl #18.

Unless, we want to have a dance or a conversation, no offence but why even give a dancer the time of day. Its not like you are actually speaking to us to be nice.
You moan about us ignoring you but you come up to us with the intention of taking our money and seducing us. Therefore unless we actually wish to have a dance or a conversation without a dance, its better just to wave dancers away.

I don't turn a girl down until after she's actually asked for a dance, that way she has a fair chance to seduce me. After all I've had girls change my mind before. Plus just rejecting a girl before she even asks feels antisocial.
Only the "wanna dance" opener gets a automatic no.

so it would kill you to introduce yourself and exchange some normal manners for 5 seconds before I move on?
Time and time again, we're told your time is valuable and we have to pay for it. How many of us have had a girl try to sell us a lap dance and ask us to pay her for her time when we turn her down? Best to turn you down as you're walking up to us rather than pay you for your 5 seconds of time.

This actually happened to me. I was at a table, recovering from a very pleasant VIP visit when another dancer stopped to chat. After a couple of minutes, she popped the question "do you want a blowjob?". It wasn't anything I would have expected to hear, and I didn't know if she was serious, or if it was just a joke. I replied that the price would be too high and she moved on after another couple of minutes. I thought it was strange at the time (a couple of weeks ago) but then I found this thread and have been wondering if she was checking to see if I was listening (I was). :-\

Yes, a bronze replica of Ron Jeremy's wang. And no, you can't pay us to take it back.
